    Description

After a long search for a life in nature, away from the bustling city, we found ourselves in an untouched village on the outskirts of İzmit named Fethiye. Since 2016, our farm has been growing with agricultural production and related projects. We produce vegetables, fruits, microgreens, farm animals, preserves, pickles, eggs, seedlings, saplings, and potted plants appropriate to organic agriculture regulations. We're passionate about producing and selling organic, sustainable products at local markets and online. It allows us to pursue the simple, peaceful life we've always envisioned. We pride ourselves on working with locals and building a strong relationship with them. It would be our pleasure to see like-minded nature-loving and adaptable people join us and experienced the way we live.

  • Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Our farm is a vibrant hub where we work alongside friends, family, and local residents. Many of these folks haven't experienced city life, offering a unique opportunity to connect with them and learn about their perspectives and rich, simple way of living. It's a chance for cultural exchange that benefits everyone!

You might have the opportunity to meet our occasional paying guests, offering a chance to connect with people from different walks of life. Turkey is still greatly unaware of the benefits and importance of organic agriculture. There is a very settled and conventional understanding of farming in the country and we are trying our best to spread awareness about organic and sustainable farming practices.

Our farm bustles with daily tasks, and volunteers are a vital part of the crew! Whether you have a green thumb and enjoy harvesting crops and tending to our livestock, or prefer lending a hand with painting, fixing, building or cleaning, we have something for everyone. You'll often find volunteers working alongside our staff planting seeds and saplings in the fields and greenhouses.

We believe happy volunteers do the best work! That's why we prioritize creating a diverse task schedule that keeps things interesting. You won't get stuck doing the same thing every day. The one exception is caring for our animals, which requires daily attention.

To ensure a perfect fit, we love to hear about your interests and what you hope to gain from this experience. With a little information, we can create a comfortable and enjoyable way for you to contribute to the farm!

We believe in creating a comfortable and shared living space for all volunteers. To achieve that, we kindly ask everyone to participate in keeping the common areas of the volunteer quarters clean and tidy.

Our two young boys are learning English at school, but with summer break coming up, they'll be spending more time around the farm. We'd love it if you could chat with them and help them practice their English! Additionally, one of our crew members, Murat, is interested in improving his English and learning some Spanish. Feel free to strike up a conversation with him whenever you see him around!

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

We have bedrooms with bunks and also single beds all around the house. The volunteers also share two living room spaces, a spacious balcony and patio, a single kitchen, and a single bathroom. Volunteers will be responsible for preparing their own meals. We provide a well-stocked kitchen with a variety of ingredients to create healthy and delicious dishes. However, animal products (excluding eggs) and junk foods are not included.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

There are plenty of amazing experiences volunteers can have in their free time! Hike amazing trails, cool off in nearby lakes, or just chill and soak up nature. You can do your own yoga or meditation session. Want to be active? Go for a run or help us chop firewood (great exercise!). You can also go birdwatching, sunbathe, or lend a hand in the garden. And don't forget to explore the nearby town of İzmit or take a weekend trip to Istanbul!

Our farm is located just a 45-minute bus ride from the city center, with stops right outside our door. Explore the city life easily, or enjoy summer adventures at the Cable Park (45 min by bus) or relaxing Sundays at Ağva Beach (minibus ride available). Winter brings snowy fun at Kartepe, a ski resort 2 hours away!

Due to our resident cats and dogs (we have a whole crew!), it can be challenging to integrate additional pets into the household. However, if you have a well-behaved pet, we may be able to discuss options on a case-by-case basis.
