Hi everybody! My name is Aiden, I’m a pipefitter/welder in the US in the state of Missouri.

In 2017-2018, I volunteered at a hostel in Amsterdam called The Shelter and really had an amazing time and felt like I had gained a family across the world. During that time I learned about cultural work exchange programs like WorkAway, and since then have always wanted to participate.

More recently I have gained an interest in honey bees and have been participating in our local bee club activities(The Boone County Bee Club). I love outdoor activities and working with my hands.

I'm super interested in learning more about gardening and animal care and what it takes to run a homestead a or natural project. More specifically I'm looking to learn about organic, and sustainable/regenerative farm practices. Gardening/food prep/ animal care and the relationships that we have with them all. I've heard you can learn a language quickly if you immerse yourself, and I hope the same principle stands while working for you. One day I would like to have my own farm or project but right now I want to gather all the data and experience that I can from you and what other people have created and learn!

A willing attitude(seriously,I'm down) and gusto to push forward. I do like the satisfaction of a job done and done pretty.

I am comfortable with hand and power tools but would love more carpentry experience. I've mostly been putting pipe together the past couple years.

COMMUNITY LIVING: I have done this dorm style in college as well as when I lived/volunteered in Amsterdam, there were like 30 of us running two hostels while living offsite.

I'm really excited to use WorkAway as a tool to learn from hosts and help how I can, I've always wanted to join as soon as I heard about it.

Last time I visited across "the big blue sea," I had very positive experiences hitchhiking and have planned on hitchhiking between most major destinations. Sometimes this isn't the most timely way of getting places, if I'm early a day or late a day, maybe we can make sure that's okay with you.
