This experience was definetly an amazing eye-opening view into traditional Moroccan Berber life. Hassan welcomed me with open-arms into his family, and it was awesome to meet all his family and friends, who passed by his house in the days I was there. The work is simple yet fun, I did various jobs, from making mud-bricks to helping out his brother lay the foundations of a new house they are building. You will have lots of free time, which can be spent reading, playing cards, or exploring the mountains behind Hassans house. The food that was cooked for us was amazing. Many thanks to Hassan, Ayoub and Abdul, you are all amazing people, and I hope to meet with all of you in the future. :))

Anna-Lena stayed with us for a month helping taking care of our horses, ducks, dogs and cats. She was also helping with housework and babysitting. She is very nice and always willing to give a hand no matter what the task is. She is very discrete, you will hardly notice she is living in your house, definitely no trouble or inconvenience! Thank you for your help Anna-Lena, you are always welcome back!

Annette and Les are so lovely people to stay with! The 3 weeks went by too fast. I've tried so many new things and helped with building a new chuck shed, gardening, riding the tractor and so much more. Les explained me a lot about permaculture which is so impressive for me. They don't just have a farm with their animals and a wonderful fruit garden, they absolutely care about their land. I got to know so many nice people, they took me to the waterfalls in the bluemountains, watching flying foxes in the sunset, going to the cattle sell, had a nice horse riding and saw an amazing milkyway. I had a lot of fun! Les made yummy homegrown dinner every day and Annette taught me how to bake the amazing anzac busicuits. And I've learned how to produce my own cheese and butter :) I highly recommend them! Thank you for everything and hopefully see you one day again!

This was our first time as workaways but we need not have been nervous; Liz, Finlo, Ruari, Finlay and Ros were so welcoming that we felt like part of this happy, busy family straight away. We were accommodated in their cosy apartment which had everything we needed, with the added bonus of a fabulous view over Oban Bay. Ros (Liz’s Mum) is a sweet lady who loves to be taken out for trips, go shopping and chat about all sorts of interesting things, so it was a pleasure to spend time with her. We also did some garden fence maintenance, built a compost bin, and did some ironing and cooking so our ‘work’ – if you can call it that – was varied and enjoyable. We loved coming together with the family over dinner every evening and we had many interesting conversations. The boys are delightful and talented, heavily involved in sport and music, and we were treated one evening to a concert of the exceptional Oban High School Pipe Band in which Ruari plays, which was amazing. On our days off we explored the islands of Lismore and Kerrera and took a trip to Knapdale in search of beavers. As wildlife enthusiasts we were thrilled to see white-tailed sea eagles and golden eagles from the house, and an otter hunting just a few minutes walk down the coast, as well as a tawny owl in the garden, along with many seabirds out on the water. Our first workaway experience will be hard to beat, but it has given us the taste for more! Thank you Liz, Finlo, Ruari, Finlay and Ros, for making our stay so enjoyable.

Jonas is such a great person and we were so happy to have him stay with us. He is very intelligent and a hard worker. He helped with a variety of different projects and was very keen to learn and just get onto the tasks. We enjoyed his company as he was interesting to talk to and he was a very tidy person to have around the shared areas. Jonas looked after our animals when we went away and knowing how responsible he was and good with the animals made our holiday away so much easier. While we worked together there was some heavy rain so he assisted inside an old wood cabin to prepare it for painting and that was a tricky task but with the music on the place looked totally transformed. Outside he used the Jack hammer to prepare holes for tree planting. He assisted Mick to use the winch to remove old tree stumps. There were so many smaller tasks as well and we basically just went through a check list and I was so happy that so many things got completed. I highly recommend Jonas to other hosts and I can assure you if you have him come to your place you are very fortunate indeed. We appreciate everything he did here and hope to stay in touch.

Thank you for hosting us and for all the good memories we made! We liked taking part in the building of the new house. So many different techniques were used, such as cob, adobe, stone and mud floor, wattle and daub wall, that taught us various skills. It was a good practice working with clay, testing and experimenting. We did everything with our hands and without powertools, so we felt very connected to the nature. We are happy that Harshit and Neha involved us in discussing and decision making for the building projects. They were open for communication and we had nice talks together. The plans changed frequently during that time, which was a slight issue for us, but as long as one is easily adjustable it won‘t be a problem. We‘re very greatful to them both for connecting us to the neighbouring villages‘ and taking us on walks so that we could learn traditional crafts and experience the rural culture. Food was lovely :) We wish you guys great fun and joy with the future projects!

Since first day this couple arrived, they already showed us they are confident to stay longer like they're request. They're creative and handyman, always focus on finishing the project that they're started and proper organized. They're making a lot of work around the house, building the water tank, and complete final finishing on the new bathroom is the most hardwork things that they have done. But they making a new outdoor kitchen area with all natural material is the most beautiful things that we have around the house. Raphael is a strong motivation person, master chef and always open minded for new ideas and he's carrying a lot of experience with him while Nicole is also the same and they are always look at each other and work together. Thanks for being a part of the family and you guys created a memory that will last forever. See you two again and wish you all the best!

I had such a nice time at the centre. Everything about this place, the people, land, view of the magical Lake Taupo, it was all so magnificent. If you like to meditate and/or do yoga, they have such a nice space for that. Clean, quiet, and overlooking the lake and mountain. The work was fair and all food was provided. There were no surprises. They even helped me facilitate doing the Tongariro Crossing with another helper. I will hold my time at the centre as a cherished memory. Gilma, Catherine, Stephen, thank you for everything.

It was my first workawayer experience and l am lucky that l experienced it with Rosy at her fairyland 🧚🏻‍♂️ she is a workawayer also so she exactly knows what it can be my needs and She cared about my needs. She didn’t overwork me and she was aware that this is a workaway so we shared our knowledge, tasks to be done, our stories, and our life for a while. Also, it is a BIG plus :) she is an excellent chef in her kitchen. I miss her and her sweety pie Daisy 🐶

My time at Eric’s farm was excellent and I highly recommend this workaway. After several months of drought, the rains arrived the day before I did, so luckily, we were able to start planting trees again. Eric is super friendly and laid back. I am grateful that he took time to show us around Nanyuki and surrounding area. He is well travelled and has lots of great stories to share. Eric has many plans for the farm and is open to new ideas. It’s amazing to see and hear about how far they’ve come in just few years. I hope I can eventually visit again see the place transformed!

Bella stayed with us for a month, and we were so happy to have her. She brings a lot of enthusiasm, and really cares about the work she does. She became an elephant expert in no time, and has given many successful tours to our guests.

Our time here was the highlight of our Central America trip. Just the amount of wonderful people we got to meet and especially the friends we've made is the reason why it is the perfect Workaway for any social traveller. We volunteered for three weeks and we wish we stayed longer. The work is mainly promoting and organizing the daily events of the hostel, and making sure that the atmosphere is fun. Each day is different and it was so much fun to work with all of the other volunteers. Silvia and Melissa, the volunteer coordinators, are super kind and cool. Thank you for the memories! We hope that we'll be back :)

Staying at Marc and KA's property was my first workaway experience and it couldnt have been better! The property is filled with all types of beautiful life that thrives from the love of Marc and KA. They immediately made me feel at home and shared everything they had! They also took me around the area to music events/scenic views/swimming spots! the work load was extremely light and fair and usually interesting/full of new things to learn! I would highly recommened this workaway :)

We were very lucky to have Emilie stay with us for over 2 months. She helped us with so many things, giving education to our visitors, training new volunteers, creating beautifully designed kids booklets, refining the volunteer information and so much more. She is a true all-rounder and happy to help with anything. With Emilie being a perfectionist, you can expect the very best from her! Even after she left, she is still helping us remotely! Any host would be lucky to have her.

We loved our experience with Tomi for the past month. His big smile, personality and presence won a lot of hearts of the ladies, and beloved by all. He also has a great sense of humour, excels at making customers feel at ease during interaction hence made a lot of happy customers. Thanks to Tomi being bilingual, he was able to translate when words were lost in translation with another workawayer we had. He has proven that he is a great team player with impressive communication and teamwork skills. We also appreciated his energy and enthusiasm with every task allocated, together with other team members, they made a dream team. Hope to have you back next season!!

If you are going to volunteer for Mascha and Henk you can consider yourself lucky. One of the best places I have been to and volunteer at, during my 5 years of Workaway-ing. They are open minded and open hearted, they know a lot about Uruguay, its culture and interesting places around Valizas. I had a great pleasure to do some repairs in their two houses in Valizas (painting, gardening), as well as, taking care of their house and sweet animals during their holidays. I wish all the hosts could be like them. Thank you so much for your trust and your help. It was a huge pleasure! Valizas is a little, dreamy, calm village with beautiful beach, great forest (with a peaceful lake) and it is close to many interesting places. You can cross a river and walk to Cabo Polonio, cycle or take a bus. Enjoy :)

We had a wonderful stay with Gemma, Garth, Diggy and Ref! From the very beginning we felt like we were home and the communication with them was very easy en clear. They were very flexible with how we organized our time and our jobs. And we really enjoyed the evenings talking and exchanging stories with them over some delicious home cooked dinner. The work we did was scraping some paint off of doors and help around the house. And the provided us with all the tools and gear necessary. We had a room for ourselves to stay which was very nice. Gemma and Garth are a lovely couple, they helped us lots to sort out some stuff and we really enjoyed their company and playing with Diggy! Thanks a lot for having us!
