Invite workawayers to mind your home while you are away

Wanted to go on vacation but worried about leaving your home and pets unattended? By joining the Workaway community as a host-- FOR FREE (!), you can connect with house sitters and travellers from all around the world who are ready to offer their helping hands in exchange for a place to stay. Whether it’s taking your dogs on their daily walks, tending to your herb garden or just keeping your home secure while you are on your extended trip, having a house sitter gives you the peace of mind that your home, pets and plants will be safe and sound, just the way you left them — if not better!

How we can help

Find and meet likeminded people

Workawayers describe their interests, skills and experience on their profiles, so you can get a good idea of who they are and how they could help.

Make confident decisions

Read reviews from previous hosts to help ensure that each Workawayer will be a good fit for you and your pets.

Connect with a worldwide network of verified travellers

Meet members who are all manually checked by our support team. Look for workawayers who are verified with their ID for extra security.

Invite Workawayers who are already in your area

Communicate your expectations in advance

Chat and make flexible arrangements with Workawayers via your inbox before confirming an exchange.

What does my project need to offer to house sitters to be listed on Workaway?

We ask that house and pet owners offer accommodation, as well as an immersive opportunity for sitters to discover the local community:

  • Accommodation can vary, but hosts should generally offer a safe and private sleeping space, such as a guest bedroom.
  • It’s a good idea to provide detailed information about the location and the amenities available to the house sitter.
  • If your pet has some special requirements to be accommodated to, then make sure this is really clear to Workawayers so that they can give the best care possible.
  • If the total hours of help are going to be less than 15 a week, then you don't need to provide food as part of the exchange.
