I originally planned to stay for two weeks, but I ended up extending it to three weeks. If I hadn't already booked my flight, I would have stayed even longer. That’s how much I truly loved my time here! ​Teaching the children wasn't difficult at all because Siri provided clear instructions and material sheets, so I always knew exactly what to do. ​Siri is a host who genuinely cares about her volunteers. She checked in on me all the time to make sure I was okay and always tried to improve things for me. She also made sure I never missed a meal and always took such good care of the food. ​Siri knows Kamphaeng Phet inside out, so if there’s anything you want to do, just ask her! There is a badminton court and a swimming pool near the house. On my days off, I was also able to travel to Sukhothai and other nearby areas. ​I already miss Siri, the wonderful children, and the peaceful town of Kamphaeng Phet so much. I highly recommend volunteering here!

Rick and yas are great hosts. The place was really rustic and in the heart of labão de beirra. I was looking for a break from hiking across Portugal and to try something new and they offered me a workaway. Yas makes really nice big lunches everyday and we always ate together. Rick is funny as heck and can always lighten a mood. They're very flexible with you as well and it's easy to discuss anything with them. The work is work and after you work you can do whatever you want. Theres bikes if you want and anything really. Very natural too. Thanks guys

Silvia and Francesca were great company engaging and friendly. They helped out in the garden, mowing , hedging, pruning and weeding. They also did some pet sitting and peeled garlic for us so we could preserve. Would definitely host again.

I am so grateful for the experience I had with Dejana in Montenegro! From the beginning, Dee did a wonderful job with communication, and we had a solid plan for my travels and what my stay would be like, and I was already beginning a friendship before even arriving. Throughout the time in Montenegro, Dee gave myself and other visitors the opportunity to contribute in ways that would let us grow and shine, and she takes great care in making sure visitors will align in positive ways and support the environment together. We accomplished great things in building, landscaping, clearing, planting, designing, and animal care! I am so happy to have helped with the wonderful and adorable ducks on Dee's property, alongside getting to play with her dog and the cats that stayed at the property. It felt like a home away from home. The property is beautiful, and is a comfortable environment to stay and tackle projects big and small, while still getting some of that rural lifestyle I was craving. There was a great time balance between work, care, and exploration. Not only did Dee always make sure our needs were met, she went above and beyond in creating a space for cultural exchange. I had never been to Montenegro or anywhere close, and Dejana made my experience with adapting to the culture comfortable and inviting. She shared an intimate, powerful lens into the history and contemporary landscape of the region, and I really am so happy with all of the conversations we got to have. I got to share my own artistic lens and perspectives with Dee, her family, and the other workaway-ers, and I felt respected the whole time. I truly believe this experience changed my life for the better, and I am eager to return one day! I am so glad to call Dejana a friend now, and I would definitely recommend this experience to others!! Thank you Dee!

Catherine was a fantastic hoster. I spent two weeks and still had a great experience for seeing Montreal and Ottawa. The house is beautiful and although it is a bit far away from city center Catherine will make sure you have time for everything. She was increible generous and luckyly we had the opportunity to share thoughts which make the experince more enriching. Also she has place for more that one workawayer, I shared my experience with a beautiful girl from Taiwan and share a lot of laughts. Sorry Cath for the late comment🤭 Anyway I am very grateful for the experience!

Ana and Jon are right up there as two of the best workawayers I have had the pleasure of hosting. They work great as a team and on their own. I needed to install a French drain next to the house where I had a bit of a damp problem inside and they were instrumental in working out the best way to go about the work in the most efficient manner. The trench had been dug out before their arrival and since we had rain forecast we were working against the clock which didn't phase them in the slightest. They are very easy going folk to have around and I can highly recommend them to other hosts

I had the chance to come here, and my stay ended up lasting four months! I had the opportunity to take care of the dogs, Chance and Panda, who are truly some of the most adorable animals I have ever met, as well as Bee, the horse I worked with daily and helped train her during her leg recovery process, along with other daily tasks depending on the needs of life in the community. This experience was incredible. I met wonderful people and was able to deeply connect with nature. I also took part in the beautiful permaculture project that Amanda is developing, which taught me a lot about planting and living in a more respectful relationship with the natural environment. There are also regular retreats and workshops at the finca, which volunteers are sometimes invited to join. I had the chance to participate in several of them, including yoga, breathwork, and other wellness practices. It made my stay even more enriching and healing. Overall, this was a very therapeutic experience for me on this amazing island of Tenerife. I am deeply grateful for everything I lived there and I already look forward to coming back one day. Thank you for everything, Amanda, and a big thought to all the animals at the finca who I miss every day. xxxx

Kathryne did great! We were her first Workaway and she fit right in. She was very helpful - willingly doing whatever was needed and did a good job. She took Charlie for a walk every morning. She spring-cleaned my deck and planted flowers in pots there and it looks wonderful. She also fully planted all the flowers in my front garden and whenever I look at them, I will think of her. Our experience staying with Mayu, Peter and Bobby was truly amazing. They are both super caring and kind. We felt safe and welcomed in their presence and home. We Spend a lot of time playing Uno Flip together which was really fun. We very much appreciated all the movie nights we had together and the good dinners. We got to see a lot of the area because they took us out to different events and places. Which was super nice. Bobby is the sweetest cat ever! We loved taking care of him and appreciated his warm presence in the house. The work we did was a mix of painting and cleaning. The work time was very flexible, so we could plan our days how we wanted. We really recommend staying with Peter, Mayu and Bobby. It was truly a heartwarming experience <3

I volunteered for 5 weeks in this hostel and really enjoyed it. The owners, the bar staff and the volunteers were all very amazing and made my time there even better. It's a nice place with good energy, very good balance between being fit and enjoy some great activities and partying. The work was good and accessible to anyone, check-ins and night activities was a good way to get socially more confortable, you can also get really creative and the rest is very simple task that everyone should be doing to keep a place great. The accommodation is good, anything you need is provided and food provided is enough. I would recommend to anyone, and if I can I will do it again. Thank you,

Helping Isabelle and Tiel was my first experience with workaway. I stayed with Isabelle and Tiel for 4 months and I couldn’t have picked a more loving, warm and welcoming family. I immediately was invited to do things with them as a family and be a part of their home. I also met many of their extended family and friends. They always included me and ensured I had an option to eat as a vegetarian. I am working to learn French and Isabelle kindly spent much of her free time tutoring me. I am grateful for Isabelle’s generosity, kindness and patience. My pronunciation and listening comprehension improved significantly with Isabelle’s tutelage. I also learned many different French traditions and games - e.g. Billard Nicolas and participating in a Raclette dinner party. As well, with Isabelle’s guidance, I learned more about French cuisine and how to make ratatouille and potato gratin. While we came together as strangers, I now consider them as lifelong friends. I can’t thank them enough for embracing me and sharing their everyday lives with me. The highest of recommendations!

Ilma and Josep-Miquel were very wonderful and kind. They welcomed us perfectly from the beginning until the end. We could feel very confortable staying with them during a few days. The cultural exchange, the work at the garden and the schedule were also very great ! We hope to see you again in the future ! Ciao, Matane !

Catch is a creative, capable, and highly self-reliant Workawayer. From the moment she arrived, she identified areas for improvement, offered thoughtful suggestions, and took the initiative to bring her ideas to life. She transformed our patio into a bright, characterful space, painting garden furniture, crafting signage, and adding a mural. She’s a capable pair of hands who knows what she wants to achieve and gets it done. We’re so grateful for her contributions and would happily welcome her back anytime.

We were fortunate to host Lolly many times. She spent 2-3 days a week with us for a couple months. Lolly is smart, a hard worker, and has a deep love for the natural world. She helped with many different tasks, from gardening, to trail work, to cooking and cleaning. She helped us build a bridge and pitched in on many other tasks. We hope to cross paths again in the future!

This was my very first Workaway experience and it was absolutely fantastic! Roy and Anne are a very welcoming couple working on different projects between the farm, the restaurant and other activities. The work was straightforward and easy to understand, and I enjoyed helping with different tasks. Every day was different so it never got repetitive or tiring. I helped with some painting, taking down a fence, washing dishes in the restaurant, and other similar things. There was lots of free time to enjoy the surroundings. From the house I could go on a few easy hikes, but they were kind enough to recommend different places to visit and give me a lift or lend me the car to reach some really cool spots. My accommodation was a clean and comfortable caravan with a very comfy bed and enough space to hang out inside. Most of the time I ate food from the restaurant fridge, but we also shared meals together when possible. They have a variable schedule so expect to eat at different times and not always together. I also had the chance to join Roy on some drives around the area, which was a great way to see more of the beautiful surroundings of Lofoten. Due to a mistake I unfortunately missed my flight home, but they were kind enough to drive me back and forth and host me for a few extra days. Very kind of them. Overall this was definitely one of the coolest experiences I've had and I recommend coming if wanting to relax in a peaceful place and visit some beautiful surroundings in Lofoten while being with some great company!

Nos quedamos una semana en este hermoso y tranquilo espacio. Fue un buen equilibrio entre trabajo y descanso, ya que después de las 4 horas en la mañana teniamos mucho tiempo para nosotros y al estar en una casa con cuarto y cocina propia, podiamos tener privacidad y espacio propio. Es todo muy verde y a su vez, estas cerca de almacenes y lugares para comprar comida. Ariane y Cedric fueron muy amables y hospitalarios con nosotros, siempre tuvimos el mejor trato y eso hizo que también nos sintieramos cómodos. Esperamos que hayamos sido de ayuda en su bello emprendimiento que esta en crecimiento y expansión constante. ¡Un abrazo!

We loved having Mammad and Raz stay with us. They came for 2 weeks and stayed for 6 ! They were both very helpful in the garden and with DIY tasks. Both were very respectful and good natured and we had some fun times together. They are very welcome back any time.

Alfie is great, he's always keen to help out, very easygoing and self-motivated. I really enjyed hosting him and the big hiking group that came while he was here really enjoyed being hosted by him. I highly recommend to other hosts, one of the best workawayers so far.

j'ai passé un excellent moment en compagnie de anna et patrick . Leur demeure est charmante et la diversité des taches a accomplir permet de ne jamais s'ennuyer. Leur culture et leur cuisine est délicieuse ! M'occuper de leurs animaux pendant leur vacances à été une tache simple tout était bien expliqué avant leur départ . Profitez de la nouvelle terrasse les amis vous la méritez bien :)

Carla and Jheff are super nice! They are definitely the highlights of the hostel. Tremendous people! Now, the hostel...I have to be honest with workawayers: it is what it is, and it will not be for everybody. It is the is the budgetiest of budgetiest hostels. It took me awhile to get used to it at first. I have not seen anything like it before. However, if you are a rugged, intrepid workawayer who does not need many comforts and luxury, it could be for you. Like I said, though, it will not be for everybody. However, I can state unequivocally that Jheff and Carly are amazing people! They are so very nice and helpful, and they treat everybody with respect and kindness. I cannot state this enough. They are extraordinary. The two other workawayers who were there when I was there were nice too! Have a terrific rest of the day!
