Description
A process of restoration and conservation of the Andean high cloud forest hand-in-hand with permaculture processes, food crops, implementation of clean energy sources and sustainable use of raw materials from the site such as timber, stones, clay and organic fertilizers. We like to promote creativity and we try to have all the necessary materials for various initiatives available, including the kitchen, which we have equipped with spices and non-perishable products in addition to the current harvest.
We have one on site employee in addition to the owner and host.
Un proceso de restauración y conservación de bosque de niebla alto andino a partir de la transición de la ganadería a la restauración de acuíferos. Paralelamente se están trabajando procesos de permacultura, cultivos de pancoger, implementación de fuentes de energía limpia y aprovechamiento sostenible de materias primas del sitio como maderables, piedras, arcilla y abonos orgánicos. Nos gusta promover la creatividad y procuramos tener disponibles todos los materiales necesarios para diversas iniciativas incluyendo la cocina, que tenemos equipada con condimentos y productos no perecederos además de la cosecha del momento.
Por el momento contamos con un empleado, además de la dueña y afintriona.

We need help with household and garden chores as well a mantaining the hiking trails and gathering seeds, caring for seedlings and planting trees.

Bedroom with shared bathroom, hot water and self-service kitchen, lots of space for camping.

All the water is drinkable and comes straight from the paramo. Within the reserve, travelers will find ecological trails of different levels of difficulty, from 1 to 8 hours of hike, with inclination of 2/5 to 5/5, two of which lead to waterfalls where they can bathe under a jet that comes straight from the mountain. There is also the possibility of horseback-riding inside and outside the reserve. In addition, Pacho (the town) is very special because it has three thermic floors, which means that we can change climate, vegetation and food without leaving the town. We have allies in other parts of the town, including the lake, which makes it easier to get to know the municipality beyond the farm. Finally, we like to eat and cook, and although we do not offer restaurant service we have spices, ingredients and good cooks, who especially like to share what they prepare and eat in community, and who greatly appreciate all the help that can be provided. We are omnivores but we accommodate the nutritional needs of the volunteers.
Toda el agua es potable y viene derecho del páramo.
Dentro del predio de los viajeros encontrarán senderos ecológicos de distintos niveles de dificultad, entre 1 y 8hrs de trayecto, con inclinación de 2/5 a 5/5, dos de los cuales desembocan en una cascada donde se podrán bañar debajo de un chorro que sale directo de la montaña. También existe la posibilidad de hacer cabalgatas dentro y fuera de la finca.
Además el municipio de Pacho es muy especial pues cuenta con tres pisos térmicos, lo que quiere decir que podemos cambiar de clima, vegetación y alimento sin salir del municipio. tiene aliados en otros lugares del pueblo, incluyendo el lago, lo que facilita conocer el municipio más allá de la finca.
Por último, nos gusta comer y cocinar, y aunque no ofrecemos servicio de restaurante si contamos con condimentos, ingredientes y cocineros de nivel, a los que les gusta sobre todo compartir lo que preparan y comer en comunidad, y que agradecen enormemente toda la ayuda que se les pueda brindar. Somos omnívoros pero nos acomodamos a las necesidades alimenticias de los voluntarios.
