I’ve returned to this small city a few years ago to embark on a new adventure. Regarding olives :)
So i'm asking for help!

During the quieter autumn, winter, or spring months, our small city offers a more relaxed and authentic atmosphere. It’s the perfect time to engage in a meaningful cultural exchange and learning experience, as the pace slows down and you can truly connect with the local way of life. This project is all about using an outdoor spot , giving you the chance to be part of a hands on effort while discovering the hidden aspects of the area that most visitors don’t get to see.
You'll have the opportunity to interact with locals, participate in daily routines, and experience the charm of the off-season in a way that goes far beyond typical tourism. What makes this experience special is the chance to collaborate, share skills, and learn together as we work towards building something unique.
I’m always around (no vacations for me! 😄) to guide the project, share local insights, or simply have a chat. If you’re open-minded and ready for an adventure, this stay promises to be enriching and unforgettable.

Looking for 2-4 people for the summer camp project at the orchard. The tasks needed to be done are Clearing the way, Tree tidying and water wisdom.

Step into a world of transformation on Crete's sun-drenched olive groves. Depending on when you join us, your role might include:
Pruning for Prosperity: Shaping the future of our olives by pruning branches to promote healthy growth.
Nourishing Nature: Enhancing soil and tree health with organic fertilization methods, ensuring our olives thrive without harming the environment.
Clearing the Way: Taming the wild with machinery to cut back weeds, making space for our olives to flourish.
Soil Superheroes: Experimenting with natural ways to enrich the soil, turning the ground beneath our feet into a nutrient-rich haven.
Minor Field Magic: Assisting in small but impactful tasks around the orchard, from fixing up pathways to ensuring our terraces are safe and solid.
Infrastructure Innovation: Help us upgrade our access by laying cement on roads, enhancing steps between terraces, and setting up a base camp with tents, hot water, and eco-friendly compost toilets.
Fence Fortification: Securing our land's borders by adjusting metal fences and constructing or repairing dry stone walls to support our terraces.
Water Wisdom: Automate our irrigation for efficiency, conserve water, and protect our soil from erosion with clever, sustainable solutions.
Entrance Enhancement: Crafting a new, welcoming metal entrance to our olive haven.
Tree Tidying: Freeing young trees from protective cages, planting new ones, and setting up mosquito traps to keep our olives pest-free.

There’s no need for expert skills, just a willingness to get involved and learn as we go. Your efforts will add valuable touches and help shape this space.

Summertime: A base camp is prepared for summertime directly at the orchard for the caretaker position, so camping :)

Late Autumn / Winter / Early spring: The room i will host you is a 4 bed dorm with private bathroom/shower and a shared kitchen. It has a WiFi connecting to the fiber internet.
For the meals I can provide you with everything necessary for you to prepare yours.
What else ...
During your free time, there’s plenty to enjoy in our small city and beyond. When staying in the base campo you can visit nearby villages and beach. You can explore the scenic coastlines, visit local monuments. The bus system makes it easy to get around and discover different parts of the northern area.
If the opportunity arises, we can also venture out together to explore the more untouched spots in the south, uncovering some hidden gems along the way. There’s always something interesting to see, whether you’re up for a bit of adventure or simply want to take in the relaxed atmosphere.
