Bruno was quick to adapt to our daily rhythms and showed a genuine curiosity about the natural world around the farm. We really enjoyed watching him connect the dots on often-complex biological systems and ask thoughtful questions. He was happy to hop on a bike to get himself around, be independent, and fully immerse himself in the walks and everything Taranaki has to offer. We had a really great time hosting him and appreciated his positive presence.

Eamon is a polite and very calm young man who volunteered and helped us with various tasks, such as organizing and observing/monitoring the wild animals. He accompanied us to various activities and external events, such as environmental education lectures for children, tree planting events and fairs where we exhibited information about this place. Thank you for all your support, Eamon! We hope you can continue to discover and learn many things around the world! :)

Nel became an integral part of our community from the very first moment. The week with her flew by. She supported us wherever it was needed. Playtime with the children, having nice conversations, and tirelessly helping out in our restaurant kitchen. A particular highlight was the grilled watermelon she prepared for us! It was a joy to have her calm, open-minded, and warm personality around us. All the best to you and we hope to see you again one day.... maybe when we will visit Belgium😊

Thank you Jin! We had the opportunity to assist with teaching English to chikdren which we loved. Jin is very easy to talk to and gives clear instruction and very good information as to what to deliver to the students. The schools themselves were very kind and helpful. So wonderful to see so many children enthusiastic to learn! Jin also invited us to Hikes and we were very comfortable that should we need any help we could just ask. Jin very kindly provided a moped to use. The accomodation is a little moped ride to various markets and amenities. Swimming and muay thai gyms within minutes. Please do volunteer to help Jin and the children, a wonderful project.

My debut as a workawayer with Tracey and Jamie has been fantastic. They are a very special and loving couple who have welcomed me so well. I stayed for 8 days and had a lovely room with a good bed and sea view and my own bathroom, had delicious food and wine and overall felt very much at home. The house is absolutely fantastic and close to everything you need. The work has been easy compared to everything that is given. They have taken me around and shown me beautiful places and on family visit - I didn't know in advance that their daughter is married to a man from Denmark, what a coincidence. If you come to Tathra, don't cheat yourself for a wonderful stay.

I spent one month at Jojo’s Place, and honestly… I didn’t want to leave anymore. From the very first day, Jojo proved to be such a warm, welcoming, and genuine person. He makes you feel at home instantly, even when your real home is thousands of kilometers away. The atmosphere is familiar and authentic. Every day there are so many fun and meaningful activities to take part in. You learn, you grow, and at the same time you contribute to the local community in a real and positive way. It’s an experience that enriches you both personally and humanly. Plus, you'll probably end up in few Malay weedings, or eating in random people's house and you're gonna love it! A special mention also goes to Afiq and Zakir — their kindness, great energy, and incredibly delicious food made the whole experience even more special. Sharing meals together was one of the best parts of each day. I highly, highly recommend this experience. I truly hope to come back soon — I left a piece of my heart in Teluk ❤️ Thanks Jojo, for everything!

I had a great time. It was a wonderful experience, Saroj and his family are always very kind and helpful, they give you advice on where to go and what to do. They're also very flexible with work hours. For those interested, Saroj is also a tour guide, we did a week-long trek in the Himalayas and it was beautiful!! I highly recommend this experience

I stayed with Shelly and Brei for the month of January, and it was truly one of the best Workaway experiences I could have hoped for. You’re surrounded by beautiful nature, welcoming people, and lovely animals. I loved spending time together, playing Catan, and sharing great conversations. You feel at home right away! The horses are incredibly sweet, and the chores (mostly mucking, feeding, filling water troughs, and moving the horses between pastures) never really feel like chores, but like opportunities to spend time and cuddle with them. In winter, riding opportunities really depend on the weather, as it really affects the footing. With two days off per week, you also get to experience real Canadian activities, as Shelly and Brei really make an effort to give you a true Canadian experience. I tried cross-country skiing, line dancing, bowling, went to my first hockey game, enjoyed snowy walks, and saw a snowmobile drag race! This Workaway experience will always hold a special place in my heart :) P.S. If anyone sees the auroras from the log house, please send me a picture — I wasn’t lucky enough to see them! :)

Vaila and Shane are absolute legends! They worked so hard on helping me to get some major projects sorted on the farm. The hay shed was cleared of old hay and a major tidy up done, a large area behind the shed was cleared of long grass and weeds and rubble. It was completely transformed into a usable area, a ditch emptied and then filled with concrete rubble, shingle etc and a gate installed to allow a drive through. Corrugated iron was installed on two sheds to fill in gaps and help keep them waterproof. A trailer was filled with metal scrap to be disposed of and other maintenance jobs were done without fuss. I had arranged for removal of an old tractor and some implements and Shane was fully involved in helping with this. These two were such a blessing to me as they worked independently and with initiative of what needed to be done. Nothing was a bother. They are full of wonderful stories and are lots of fun to be around. I am so grateful for all their help and thoroughly recommend them to anyone needing capable and caring helpers.

I had an excellent stay at Hostal Oro Verde. Aleph, Dulce, and her sons Tenoch and Kinich welcomed me with open arms, and soon I became part of their family. Especially the food was outstanding, but really everything from the different beautiful cenotes the boys took me to, to the little moments shared in between in the kitchen and games played together, to the two experiences (tours) they took me on generously! If you have any skills to contribute to the progress of building and improving a hostel and you love being in nature, this is the perfect place for you. During my time there, I helped with building a shade structure for hammocks and a small metal-framed cabin. They were super flexible with the work times and always made sure I didn't work too much and drank enough in the heat of the day. They also helped me to learn and improve my Spanish and kept motivating me! Thanks for everything, I hope we will meet again! :)

I had a wonderful two weeks stay here. Bruno the owner is an open minded inspiring creative person and the whole family is involved with the project. There were different tasks, from helping with dishes in the kitchen, gardening, weeding to attend and help at a workshop event with guests. I really loved the peace and quiet on the farm and the nature. The volunteers house is not in best conditions though, but probably will get repaired soon. Who wants to live and help has to be a flexible, open minded practical problem solving caracter and have self initiative to help and see where the work lies. All in all a wonderful time and stay and would love to come back one day! Thank you for having me!

Its hard to explain how amazing this experience was. My 6-week volunteering experience at this place was absolutely incredible. Everything was amazing — the job, the place, and the people there. I truly loved taking care of the horses and guiding clients on the 4-hour trail rides. I learned so much about horses during my stay, which made the experience even more special. I also really enjoyed working with Francesco — such a great person to work alongside! What makes this place even more special is its location: you’re fully immersed in nature, yet it’s super easy to go on adventures during your days off. There’s so much to explore in the surrounding area! In short, it was a magical experience filled with nature, horses, friendship, breathtaking landscapes, and of course, delicious food. I can’t recommend it enough!

Les missions sont diverses et variées, on ne s'ennuie pas ! De plus, David et Catherine proposent de nombreuses sorties durant la semaine allant du mario kart au tacos tuesday ! Nous mangeons des plats tipiques le midi c'est génial ! On recommande à fond ! 🤗

My experience of hosting Vicki was a good one, despite my being sick for a good portion of her stay. She completed all the gardening jobs assigned to her with precision and efficiency... basically tidying up the garden in prep for Spring. She was easy to have around and respectful of one's space. Just one thing to note.... the nearest bus stop is,a 45 minute walk from here. However we are almost always available to give a lift to and from the bus..

I don't believe I could have had a better first workaway experience then the one I had with this amazing family. I was proposed a variety of tasks that were always discussed together daily, and chosen on the basis of capabilities and availability. Everyone was very respectful of personal space, free time and there has always been an honest dialogue. Personally, the exchange was always equal and fair, and everything was possible with clear communication. I did a bit of gardening, cleaning and organizing, cooking and I also helped builiding a fence, which was very cool. I was able to both use my skills and learn some new things. I had a lot of free time, which I spend exploring every corner of Graz (and Vienna!). Simon and Emma are fantastic hosts: generous, available and it was always a pleasure to talk to them; and they are amazing and I hope they think I am cool too, at least a little :3 The kitchen was the most lively and warm part of the house, or at least it felt like that because cooking time and especially meals offered a great occasion to laugh, chat and to get to know each other. I treasured every moment of this cultural exchange through jokes, memes, stories and gossips, and I wish I knew a little more of German to tell Oma Siga how much I loved her life's adventures. I fell in love with every animal that I laid eyes (and hands) on, I have a soft spot for all the three of them: Inara, Luigi and Lilli, they are great listeners for my yapping sessions. I am extremely grateful for the hospitality and generosity I have received, that made me feel like home, and I hope it is clear how thankful I am for everything that was given to me. I totally recommend them as hosts, because I had a great time and an amazing experience. Thank you for everything, I hope to see you soon!

Giada and Sam stayed with us for a month, and it was such a joy having them in our home. From the very beginning, they blended in so naturally and brought a calm, kind energy into our space. They looked after our dog Pipo with so much love and attention - he absolutely adored them, and we could see how happy and relaxed he was in their care. That meant the world to us. They helped around the house and in the garden with genuine care and thoughtfulness. Every task was done with attention and pride, and they were always willing to step in wherever needed. We also shared many lovely conversations and lots of laughter around the table and in between daily life. A special mention to Giada’s beautiful cooking - we were completely spoiled! So many delicious meals, prepared with love, and enjoyed together. Those shared dinners are memories we’ll cherish. Giada and Sam are respectful, warm, easy to live with, and simply wonderful humans. We are so grateful for the month we had together and truly hope our paths cross again one day. We wish them all the very best for whatever comes next and we’d welcome them back anytime!

Amazing place with beautiful nature, cute animals, great food and a host that is more than ok! ;) Noya really wants to share her great place to those who want to be part of it. Work differs a lot and you have the chance to impact what kind of tasks you will get. Go there if you want to learn about forests and nature, listen and help wherever it is needed - it will be appreciated! You don't have a lot of time to do "nothing" due to the schedule but part of it is a hike every afternoon which we really loved! We really recommend this place to open minded people who are good at adjusting to different types of lives. Not good for people who are very stuck in your ways, because you will be staying with a person who isn't afraid of expressing her opinion. Thank you for 10 wonderful days Noya! We had a great time! And thank you for the tarot reading and the immune boosting mixture when I (Emma) was sick. So appreciated! Wish you all the best! Huge hugs from, Emma and Emil

We spent two months with Michelle, and she became part of our family from the very first day. She was always respectful, responsible, highly organized, and willing to help. The kids loved playing with her and would look for her whenever she was around. She occasionally stayed with them at home or picked them up from school. She did a great job cooking and cleaning thoroughly, and also took care of the laundry and groceries, being very spontaneous and proactive in her tasks. It was always a pleasure to have her around and enjoy interesting conversations with her. Thanks for everything!
