Description
We are a non profit organization that provides pathways of hope for communities in Guatemala - physically and educationally.
We have built houses, installed sinks, give out food for the one's in need, we provide education opportunities for children and youth.
We are located in a small village about 1.5 hr south of Antigua Guatemala and 30 min north of Monterrico Guatemala. *FYI if you are traveling from Antigua Guatemala to El Tunco El Salvador we are right in the middle along CA-2.*
We recently moved from town to a 5-acre rural property with 60 mango trees and others - and need help in maintaining the property.
Throughout the weeks, we have various small construction, yard cleanup and craft projects going on.
On Wednesdays we do different community outreaches to support and uplift the local area.
We also have a sponsorship program for kids & youth - where we offer them the opportunity to receive private schooling. They come to our project on Fridays where we provide English lessons and do an activity with them.
Our staff are local Guatemalans while I myself am from the States and my wife is from Switzerland. We are a Christian faith- based project. However, we have had volunteers from over 17 countries and received individuals from all paths of life! Everyone is welcome here! Join the team!

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
We offer a safe and peaceful environment away from tourism and in a rural area. Being in an area where not many people speak English, you will have to use Spanish when going shopping or speaking with locals. We are very immersed in this community, so if there are any activities going on (local soccer game, cultural community events, birthday parties, etc.) we will let you know - so you can be part of it and experience the culture here!

Help
We need help in the following areas:
• Construction projects (like building and improving a chicken coop/ feed and garden, fencing, etc.)
• Help harvesting/ preparing mangoes on our mango farm (February to June - depending on the year)
• Pruning mango and other trees during heavy rainy season (July-November)
• Cleaning up the yard
• Maintaining Chicken Coop
• Craft projects with bamboo, wood and leftover construction materials
• Working the Community garden
The focus areas depend heavily on time of the year and weekly priorities.
Next to that, you can help us in the following:
• Participate in community outreach projects (soccer competitions, handing out care packages, painting walls of public areas/ private properties, etc.)
• Serve food to a local elementary class, guide youth in a workshop (Thursdays)
We have a minimum stay of two weeks, which includes Monday to Friday workdays each week, to ensure a meaningful experience for both you and our project.
If you have a certification in Teaching English (TEFL/ TESOL/ ETC.), you are welcome to help in:
• Assisting English lessons to children and youth (Fridays)
• Assisting English lessons to our staff. Depending on your interest we can do that 1-3x a week for 1h.
Skilled Workawayers Needed:
Since 2017, we have been developing our 5-acre property, which originally had nothing but dirt and trees. While we have made great progress in building, there are still many things missing and areas that need improvement.
We are specifically looking for Workawayers with skills in:
🔧 Plumbing
🛠 Woodwork
🚗 Mechanic (working on a Truck)
👨🌾 Gardening
🖌️🎨 Painting (Murals)
🎥 Content Creating
📸 Photographing
👨💻 Website Developing
If you have experience in any of these areas and are willing to contribute your skills, we would love to have you join us! Your help will make a lasting impact in our project.
