🌿Workaway for 25+ (ideally 2 people with their own car) 🌿

We’re currently looking for reliable, independent Workawayers to join us in our relaxed beachside home in Terrigal. This placement is especially well suited to people with practical carpentry / DIY skills and/or creative skills (such as sewing, painting, crafting, or photography/videography), who are comfortable walking our 5-year-old Groodle, Pipo, as well as helping with everyday tasks such as cooking, light garden maintenance, and housekeeping.

The help we need is around 4-5 hours per day (Monday to Friday) in exchange for accommodation and a weekly allowance for you to cook. We will share some lunches together but for the most part you will have your own private space with separate entrance. You will have a bedroom, kitchenette, bathroom and direct access to the garden.

This setup is best suited for people looking for a mid to longer-term stay (min 2 weeks but happy to host for 1 month or more if it works well for everyone) who want a comfortable base while working remotely or locally (e.g. in hospitality or other nearby jobs).

Because we live on a steep hill and public transport is limited, having a car is essential for your own errands and getting around.

    ***************************************
We’re Anja (German/Spanish), Alberto (Italian), and our 5-year-old Groodle, Pipo. Our home has a warm, friendly and creative atmosphere. We’ve enjoyed hosting many wonderful Workawayers and love meeting people from all over the world.

Terrigal is a beautiful coastal town on the NSW Central Coast, just a 2min drive or a 15–20 minute walk from the beach and village.

If you’re looking for a peaceful place to stay, enjoy dogs, and are happy to lend a hand with daily tasks, we’d love to hear from you!

I (Anja) am a blend of German/Spanish background but have lived in Australia for approx. 15 years (and two years in Lugano, Switzerland). I speak German, English, Spanish and Italian and I am more than happy to practice with you :-)

I love to dance salsa/bachata and I am taking several classes weekly. I am more than happy to take you to dance events if you are interested!

I'm Alberto, originally from Italy, and I've been living in Australia for 17 years. I work in cybersecurity and spend most of the week in Sydney for work. I'm also caring for my 17-year-old son.

  • Help

    Help

    The help we need includes:
    • Walking our dog, Pipo, for about an hour a day (you will need to be comfortable to let him off-leash in a park and take him to the beach)
    • General garden maintenance – mowing, weeding, mulching, planting
    • Housekeeping and general upkeep of the home and outdoor areas
    • Occasional small DIY tasks or painting tasks as needed
    • If you are a skilled carpenter we would be happy for some help creating a deck in the front of the house

If you have particular skills, we’d love to hear about them - for example, experience in carpentry (we may look at building a small front deck), or creative skills such as sewing, painting, or other craft projects.
