Sophia was a fantastic Workaway! She proved to be very skilled at caring for the animals, knowing how to interact with them with kindness and attention, and she adapted perfectly, moving around the area completely independently. We greatly appreciated her kindness in caring for Selva, our pregnant cat, whom she assisted like a true midwife... and with so much fun for everyone! 😄 It was wonderful to meet her, share like-minded ideas, and immediately feel connected. We were truly fortunate to have her here with us: her positive energy, willingness to help, and love for animals made everything more beautiful and easier. Sophia is a special person! It was a true pleasure sharing our time and our little world with her. The animals miss you already. We're happy you enjoyed your stay despite the simplicity of the place, and that you also had the chance to visit our beautiful region. We truly hope this isn't goodbye, but rather a "see you soon!" A big hug from us and all the animals (especially Selva and her children, who will never stop looking for you!).

I stayed 1 week with Kristen and the family and it was so great. The apartment was very modern and they had the best beds. I worked for a few hours a day and many days we went to the beach or did cool hikes, they always had fun ideas for activities and I was never bored. I worked on the outside of the house a lot or did some other jobs outside, it was always fun and if I wanted to do something else that was always okay. I got food for breakfast and lunch and had delicious meals at dinner with them. I would definitely come back here, I really enjoined it.

I had a great time with Evelien, Nuud and Flynn! I learnt a lot about Belgium and its history, and also the habits and food they have. I enjoyed trying out new vegan/vega meals as well and could test my ideas too. We did some woodworking, sewing and gardening:) We also had another workawayer there, so it was never boring! Evelien was very supportive about my goals and we share the same opinions on a few things so that was also nice🥰 Thanks for having me❤️

I stayed with Suzanne for two weeks. She's very open in her communication and I felt immediatly very welcome. Her place is a paradise, a beautiful garden full of trees and flowers, very quiet and a bird concert every morning! The work was varied and fun to do. I mostly worked in the garden and also helped with some yurt tasks. I stayed in the studio, which is a very comfortable place with good Wi-Fi. Orgiva is within walking distance, a nice little town and you can take a bus to Granada or the mountains. I would definitely recommend this place!

Initially, I went to stay for two and a half months and ended up staying for six months. Linda, Bernie, and Paul are an incredible family, and I learned a lot from them. Linda is a great cook, and everything she makes is wonderful. I really miss her food. She always helped me with my English and corrected me when necessary. Bernie taught me a lot, and we had great conversations. When I arrived at Linda's house, we had almost 18 puppies, and they were incredible. Over time, they all left, and the older dogs remained. They are all very affectionate. As the puppies left, the birds began to arrive, and they are wonderful. The work around the house is easy and can be done in the morning, afternoon, and evening. You just have to open the chicken coop so the chickens can go out and come back in. This family has become part of my family too, and I miss them every day.

I originally planned to stay one month but ended up staying nearly three, I enjoyed my time in Cuenca that much. Tony was the perfect host, helping me acclimate and immerse myself in the culture and community. Unlike a typical visit where you just see the sights, this experience allowed me to actually live in Ecuador, to understand the rhythm of daily life, build real connections, and become part of the community rather than just passing through. The flexibility we had with duties and expectations made all the difference. I was happy to help with whatever he needed, and in return, there were no excessive demands, I never worked more than the agreed-upon hours. Tony also made sure my skills were fully utilized and prioritized, giving me time to get to know Ecuador. I spent a week and a half during my volunteer period exploring more of the country, which deepened my appreciation for Cuenca and its people. This was my first Workaway experience, and it exceeded my expectations. I would volunteer again in a heartbeat.

We had a great experience staying with Libby for almost three weeks. From the start, we felt very welcome and quickly at home. Her house on Macleay Island is spacious, well located, and has a beautiful sea view. The island is peaceful, green, and really charming. Libby is a kind and thoughtful host, always ready to help and make sure everything goes smoothly. She truly cares about her Workawayers. We also loved her adorable dog, Rodrigeuz, it was a real pleasure spending time with them both. The tasks included cooking, cleaning, and some outdoor work. Everything was clearly explained, and Libby often joined in, which made the experience more enjoyable and allowed for great exchanges. Macleay Island is quiet and full of nature, with easy access to the mainland by a short and affordable ferry ride. We highly recommend staying with Libby, it’s a warm, enriching, and enjoyable experience.

Jurrie was a very kind host, it was simply wonderful to stay at his lovely quinta. He is an excellent cook and we had deep, enriching conversations. He was always willing to help — genuinely a great person. Going for walks with Rex was pure fun! The area has a lot going on, making it a perfect mix of quietness and activity. Highly recommend and, if I can, I'll definitely come back!

This was our first Workaway experience, and it was amazing! Marie and Christiano were so kind, accommodating, and welcoming. The house and the surroundings are very beautiful, and we had a great time meeting a lot of other volunteers. We helped with all sorts of different tasks (cleaning, doing the beds and cleaning the rooms, painting, manual tasks, gardening, taking care of the animals, ...) and it really felt like we were at home! We really, really suggest this Workaway; it was so great. We got to discover a new part of Brazil that we fell in love with. This place is very chill and it is a great breath of nature fresh air. Thank you very much for everything, Christiano and Marie. Give a kiss to Leonel, Lisa, and Moustache for us. ;) Erin et Perle <3

Ashlein has been with us trough many things and experiences in a short time, from dealing with the different emotions in the group to managing the various tasks of our everyday life. She's a sensitive and intuitive creature, able to feel inside the troubles of the planet, yet able to analyse it, deal with it and ask opinions and point of views. Even though she's from Las vegas, she's able to do much more than the average first experienced person and she cooks good! Wishing her a meaningful journey out of US we hope she'll find the right hosts to continue experiencing another possible life.

Michel, you brought a sense of calm, and quiet to the space. Really appreciate that you would worked independently, paid attention tasks. We love your garden beds made simply from what we have around the farm. It shows that you adaptable to local and rural farm. We especially inspire that healthy body and mind is the result of what you practice. Your calmness and grounded nature brought peace to many of the younger volunteers. Glad to have you here, age is not a boundary, but a wisdom, one that carries experience and patience with goodwill. Thank you again, Michel. We are very grateful to have shared this time with you.

This is a wonderful place to be! You get a lot as reward for a few working hours. Free yoga classes, free breakfast and a clear work schedule, which was great for an easy planning to explore San Cris during the days off. San Cris is a magical place for people who are interested in traditional rituals like cacao or temazcal ceremonies. I was lucky to meet and work with lovely other Workawayers and it was a pleasure to organize some events for the hostel and spending time all together. During my stay, the guests have been super chilled and open minded. I can highly recommend to volunteer here. Mariam is a wonderful person and became a lovely friend. She gives a lot of her energy to make this place warm and comfortable for everyone. Thank you for sharing this beautiful place, stories and your time <3 I hope to be able to come back one day!
