We have a mixed fruit orchard, vegetable garden, chickens and a small vineyard. Our property is on a peninsula on the Waimea Inlet near Mapua. The estuary is home to many wading birds and much of our work is revegetating the estuary margin. We are part of Department of Conservation/Community project to increase numbers of several endangered wading birds by restoring their natural habitat and trapping predators. We have 3 holiday cottages on the property, and occasionally helpers need to assist with various tasks around the cottages and helping tourists.

Helping with Tourists
Travellers can learn about our habitat restoration project, and about the birds and plants around our beautiful tidal inlet.
Autumn/Winter work is planting and weeding. Spring/Summer it is mostly vegetable gardening and orchard work.
We have a very comfortable caravan with TV and wifi. Also a separate bathroom and kitchen for helpers. We provide all food. We love cooking and eat lots of fresh and home produced food. Helpers make their own breakfast, I make lunch most days when I am here, and cook dinner 1 or 2 nights per week. Helpers are provided with all ingredients for cooking in their own kitchen on other nights.
There are lots of things to do and see around here. We have kayaks and stand up paddle boards for the Inlet. We are just 3 kms from the Great Taste cycleway. There are 3 National Parks closeby for helpers who like to go tramping . (Abel Tasman, Kahurangi, Nelson Lakes)
