    Description

    Hej everybody!

After a year of travelling in Europe via Workaway and so many great people and new experciences, we are now very happy to have the opportunity to host you at our home!

We are living in Nuremberg, Bavaria: quite a big, well-known (Christkindlsmarkt for example) city next to beautiful rural spots (Altmühltal, different lakes, Fränkische Schweiz).
So you can do many different things here: hiking, swimming, sightseeing, trips to other cities like Munich, meeting new people, concerts, crafting stuff, looking for the best coffee in town (we can recommend some cafes and we‘re always open for new ones!)…

    Some words about us:
We are a queer couple - Sophia (she/her, 31) and Saskia (she/her, 30) working as special education teachers.

We love to get to know new people and new languages (so we can speak German, English, French and a bit Spanisch, Dutch and German Sign Language) - to play board and card games, meet friends, cooking and baking (open to new recipes!), to do different hand-crafts and enjoy a relaxed evening while watching some series.

We hope to hear from you, when you’re:
    - looking for a stay for around one week
    - open-minded and queer-friendly
    - happy to get to know new people.

    Sophia and Saskia

We would love to show you around and to help you with the German language.
Of course you can get some typical German food at our home (but in the vegetarian/vegan version) - or in a restaurant when you prefer the meet-version.

Depending on your background we will be happy to learn a bit of a new language and new recipes.

And of course we’re always interested in a conversation about different school systems - but we don’t have to talk about school. :)

    Help

We’re looking for someone who wants to help for around one week with cooking, dishes (okay, we have a dishwasher, so it is not a big deal), cleaning, helping with the balcony, maybe some projects like painting walls. We’re open for your ideas. Help will be around 2-4 hours per day and of course just for 4-5 days, depends on how long you want to stay.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

We live in an apartment where you could have your own room with a very comfy air mattress and enough space for your belongings.
It’s our working space, so there is lots of teaching stuff around you - but we have an empty cupboard for you - and there’s a door - so you really can be on your own if you want to.
Of course you’re always welcome in the living room and kitchen!
We will share our bathroom, too.

If you’re at home, when we’re back from work, we would love to eat together (we can prepare food together and if you feel so, you can prepare it as part of your work) - or we can eat together in the evening. One meal is a warm meal, the other time there’s “Brotzeit“ - bread, different spreads, some vegetables. Breakfast will be there for you, too - you may have to eat on your own, because we have to leave quite early.
On your days off, you can join our meals if you want.
Food is always vegetarian, often vegan at our home.
