    Description

I live on a small island off the coast of Brisbane Australia. I am a middle aged early retired person who is into growing food and moving towards independence from society as much as possible.
I’m keen to have assistance with food gardening/landscaping/housework/cooking or building things, depending on your skills and interests.
My house is absolute waterfront with lovely views. There is a boat and kayak available for your use. The island is between Brisbane and Gold Coast and surrounded by other islands, so plenty to explore.
You will have a queen bed in a large room, your own bathroom, and back deck with gorgeous water view.
I live alone so it’s a lovely quiet and peaceful environment. I do have a very friendly and well behaved chihuahua, who loves everyone!

Fishing, crabbing, use of small boat, kayaking, language assistance, day trips, explore other islands, Brisbane or Gold Coast or Sunshine coast.
My 27 year old son also lives on the island and will gladly take you around the island to pubs etc.
The island has a golf club, bowls club, art gallery, some cafes, a pub and is only a 20 minute boat ride from the mainland(Brisbane). Just a one hour drive to the Gold Coast.
I have travelled all over the world and so has my son, so we are very happy to be hosting people from anywhere in the world. He is learning Chinese language at university so mandarin speakers are super welcome🙂

    Help

I’m seeking 12 hours work a week in return for lovely accomodation, food and transport around the island. I will attempt to help you get free accomodation in other places you may wish to visit on your days off. I’m happy for you to work whatever days/timetable suits you, perhaps 3x 4hour days to have the rest of the week off, or whatever suits you best.
Ideally hoping to find someone with good gardening/food growing/landscaping skills, but open to other skills such as cleaning, cooking or building things such as raised garden beds or chicken pens.

    What else ...

In your off time you may want to fish, go to the beach, swim, throw in a crab pot, go kayaking, take the tinny for run, go to the pub or bowls club, visit nearby other islands such as coochimudlo, or north Stradbroke, visit cafes, or head to the mainland if you prefer a faster pace. The island a very calm, quiet and laid back lifestyle, but Brisbane and the Gold Coast are close by if things get too quiet for you🙂
