Evgeny is a hardworking and trustworthy person with strong common sense and genuinely good intentions. He communicates clearly and honestly, which makes collaboration easy and reliable. Above all, he has a big heart—he cares deeply about the people around him and brings a warm, positive energy to the environment. We truly appreciated having him as a volunteer and his presencebis a blessing.

I was looking to develop new life skills and bingo! My stay with Rebecca, which I'm very grateful for, allowed me to step outside my comfort zone — there were quite a few firsts for me during this experience. From our initial phone call, I could sense that Rebecca genuinely needed support, and I was happy to offer my help in a sincere and meaningful way. The working hours were flexible, and tasks were not always clearly defined, which gave me the opportunity to take initiative in the household. I helped with various chores I felt were needed and did my best to contribute positively to the overall space. While I don’t yet have strong gardening experience, I hope I was still able to make a difference in helping tidy up and make the yards more presentable. Rebecca has been a lovely and accommodating host, and I truly appreciated our conversations—especially sharing perspectives on cultural differences between our countries. This experience gave me valuable insight into Australian daily life, which I’m very thankful for. I’m glad that Rebecca and her sons can now enjoy a more organized and cozy home, and I hope the space continues to improve for future Workawayers who will help carry things forward.

We had the pleasure of hosting Ilaria for a few weeks in February through Workaway, and it was a truly wonderful experience. Ilaria is a very social person who easily connects with everyone around her. She is a hard worker who naturally sees what needs to be done and takes initiative without hesitation. She is especially skilled in cleaning and organizing spaces, bringing a sense of order and care wherever she works. During her stay, she also helped paint several spaces beautifully. On top of that, she is a great cook and always ready to lend a hand with anything that’s needed. Ilaria enjoys meaningful conversations and is open to many different perspectives, cultures, and philosophies—it’s clear that her studies in psychology are a natural fit for her. We truly enjoyed the time we spent together and are sure our paths will cross again in future adventures. She is always welcome to return and be part of our project and dream. Warmly recommended

Alizée was a superstar! She was so kind, and so down for new experiences and being part of the family and community. Her positivity and can-do attitude was a pleasure to be around. Plus she was always attentive to any task given, and carried them out to a high degree of quality. I have no doubt she will be very successful in whatever she decides to do!

Sophia was a fantastic Workaway! She proved to be very skilled at caring for the animals, knowing how to interact with them with kindness and attention, and she adapted perfectly, moving around the area completely independently. We greatly appreciated her kindness in caring for Selva, our pregnant cat, whom she assisted like a true midwife... and with so much fun for everyone! 😄 It was wonderful to meet her, share like-minded ideas, and immediately feel connected. We were truly fortunate to have her here with us: her positive energy, willingness to help, and love for animals made everything more beautiful and easier. Sophia is a special person! It was a true pleasure sharing our time and our little world with her. The animals miss you already. We're happy you enjoyed your stay despite the simplicity of the place, and that you also had the chance to visit our beautiful region. We truly hope this isn't goodbye, but rather a "see you soon!" A big hug from us and all the animals (especially Selva and her children, who will never stop looking for you!).

I stayed 1 week with Kristen and the family and it was so great. The apartment was very modern and they had the best beds. I worked for a few hours a day and many days we went to the beach or did cool hikes, they always had fun ideas for activities and I was never bored. I worked on the outside of the house a lot or did some other jobs outside, it was always fun and if I wanted to do something else that was always okay. I got food for breakfast and lunch and had delicious meals at dinner with them. I would definitely come back here, I really enjoined it.

Thomas and Elsa were our first Workawayers and were a joy to work with! Every task was met with enthusiasm and purpose and they even stayed longer each day to make sure every animal in their care was happy, healthy and well cared for. From hydrotherapy to experimenting with dog food recipes, they picked up all tasks without any issues and were easy to get on with. We miss them and are very thankful for all their great work. They are welcome back any time!

I had a great time with Evelien, Nuud and Flynn! I learnt a lot about Belgium and its history, and also the habits and food they have. I enjoyed trying out new vegan/vega meals as well and could test my ideas too. We did some woodworking, sewing and gardening:) We also had another workawayer there, so it was never boring! Evelien was very supportive about my goals and we share the same opinions on a few things so that was also nice🥰 Thanks for having me❤️

I stayed with Suzanne for two weeks. She's very open in her communication and I felt immediatly very welcome. Her place is a paradise, a beautiful garden full of trees and flowers, very quiet and a bird concert every morning! The work was varied and fun to do. I mostly worked in the garden and also helped with some yurt tasks. I stayed in the studio, which is a very comfortable place with good Wi-Fi. Orgiva is within walking distance, a nice little town and you can take a bus to Granada or the mountains. I would definitely recommend this place!

Initially, I went to stay for two and a half months and ended up staying for six months. Linda, Bernie, and Paul are an incredible family, and I learned a lot from them. Linda is a great cook, and everything she makes is wonderful. I really miss her food. She always helped me with my English and corrected me when necessary. Bernie taught me a lot, and we had great conversations. When I arrived at Linda's house, we had almost 18 puppies, and they were incredible. Over time, they all left, and the older dogs remained. They are all very affectionate. As the puppies left, the birds began to arrive, and they are wonderful. The work around the house is easy and can be done in the morning, afternoon, and evening. You just have to open the chicken coop so the chickens can go out and come back in. This family has become part of my family too, and I miss them every day.

I originally planned to stay one month but ended up staying nearly three, I enjoyed my time in Cuenca that much. Tony was the perfect host, helping me acclimate and immerse myself in the culture and community. Unlike a typical visit where you just see the sights, this experience allowed me to actually live in Ecuador, to understand the rhythm of daily life, build real connections, and become part of the community rather than just passing through. The flexibility we had with duties and expectations made all the difference. I was happy to help with whatever he needed, and in return, there were no excessive demands, I never worked more than the agreed-upon hours. Tony also made sure my skills were fully utilized and prioritized, giving me time to get to know Ecuador. I spent a week and a half during my volunteer period exploring more of the country, which deepened my appreciation for Cuenca and its people. This was my first Workaway experience, and it exceeded my expectations. I would volunteer again in a heartbeat.

We had a great experience staying with Libby for almost three weeks. From the start, we felt very welcome and quickly at home. Her house on Macleay Island is spacious, well located, and has a beautiful sea view. The island is peaceful, green, and really charming. Libby is a kind and thoughtful host, always ready to help and make sure everything goes smoothly. She truly cares about her Workawayers. We also loved her adorable dog, Rodrigeuz, it was a real pleasure spending time with them both. The tasks included cooking, cleaning, and some outdoor work. Everything was clearly explained, and Libby often joined in, which made the experience more enjoyable and allowed for great exchanges. Macleay Island is quiet and full of nature, with easy access to the mainland by a short and affordable ferry ride. We highly recommend staying with Libby, it’s a warm, enriching, and enjoyable experience.
