Description
The Sanctuary is a residential center for intentional living, located in the countryside near Cochabamba. It offers people a place to step outside their usual routines, slow down and explore how they actually want to live.
Life here brings together nature, practical work, healthier routines, reflection and meaningful conversations, we aim to create conditions in which people can understand themselves and their lives more clearly.
Over many years, we have created extensive gardens, communal and guest spaces, an organic swimming pool, a sauna and places for reflection and movement. As we move closer to opening our doors more widely, we are welcoming a small number of Workawayers to help care for the property and complete some of the final practical details.
Each Workaway exchange lasts seven days.
Because every person affects the atmosphere of the space, we select Workawayers carefully. You may feel at home here if you are looking for more than another stop on a backpacking route—perhaps a quieter week to rest, spend time in nature, contribute to something meaningful and reflect on how you want to live.
We particularly appreciate people who:
-are reliable and take responsibility for themselves;
-enjoy contributing through useful, practical work;
-appreciate both meaningful connection and time alone;
-are curious, respectful and willing to participate sincerely.
You do not need previous experience with meditation or personal development. Your attitude and reliability matter more. -

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
- Sanctuary is being developed to support both meaningful human connection and quiet, independent time. The number of people staying here varies considerably throughout the year.
At some times, you may share the space with several guests or contributors. Please do not arrive expecting a busy community, constant social activity or a full daily program.
The exchange offers an opportunity to experience life in the Bolivian countryside, contribute to the development of - Sanctuary and share skills, perspectives and conversations with the people who are here.
Plant medicines and Shamanism are our area of expertise and we are always willing to shed more light into these fields if there is an interest from your side. -
Help
The work varies according to the current needs of the property and the skills of each Workawayer. It may include:
gardening and caring for plants;
composting and other regenerative projects;
maintaining the organic swimming pool;
light construction, repairs and maintenance;
organizing tools and materials;
caring for outdoor and communal spaces;
other useful practical or creative projects.
We appreciate people who can listen carefully, follow clear instructions and then complete agreed tasks responsibly without requiring constant supervision. -

Workawayers are responsible for buying and preparing their own food. Kitchen facilities are available, and we ask everyone to keep their accommodation, the kitchen and shared spaces clean and orderly.
😋 If you have particular requirements such as chocolate, coffee or meat, etc. we would happily inform you about where to find whatever you're looking for. -
What else ...
After working hours you can enjoy your independence by taking a walk in the area (surrounded by fields) , visit the near bye waterfalls, enjoying the garden the pool or our sand beds.
When contacting us, please answer these questions:
What attracted you to this Sanctuary, and which part of the profile resonated most with you?
What practical skills could you contribute? Please give us one real example of using them.
