Description
We are a family living in the Himalayas - After traveling the world, we returned to the hills and settled here in a cottage with some little fields around it. We started a school here and ran it for 11 years but we closed it after COVID. Now, we only tutor a few children after school.
We need help with the following: (in order of priority)
1. Creating and conducting workshops (nature skills, stem activities etc) for children aged 6 to 15.
2. Help in our organic vegetable gardens. Planting, tilling, weeding, watering etc.
3. Regular sweeping cleaning and maintenance jobs: painting, cleaning and repair of the buildings and yard areas.
We welcome anyone who wishes to start new projects with yoga, meditation, art, renewable energy, sustainable farming etc.
Our spaces are yours if you have the energy, ideas and wherewithal to start something beautiful here.
We have clean air, gorgeous views and lovely weather- we just need your help and energy to maintain our beautiful surroundings and your new ideas to do something even more fantastic here.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Volunteers will get a chance to experience life in the Himalayas.
There are beautiful snow views and lovely mountains right across the street from us. You can still see a variety of birds (eagles and vultures) and other wildlife here. It's a perfect space to meditate, do yoga or hike.
For innovative, energetic and independent workers we offer all our spaces to start any worthwhile projects- long term as well.
We feel super lucky to have a home in the Himalayas and would love to have you help us make something even more beautiful here, especially for the village children.
Projects involving children
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.

Help
With several buildings and a fair amount of land we need people good at cleaning, sweeping, gardening, repair and maintenance or those willing to learn.
We would also love to have people interested in teaching the village kids and organizing music, dance and science events.
Our organic vegetable garden also needs daily attention.
Renewable energy and sustainable farming are also of interest to us.
We are actually just looking for energetic people to help maintain and hopefully build something new in our beautiful little village.

Accommodation
Volunteers share rooms and bathrooms . A simple basic kitchen is available on campus if volunteers wish to buy and cook their own food. We do not provide meals. There are also many inexpensive, quick and convenient food options in the village.
Volunteers should know that the winter months are cold here and we do have water shortages and electricity issues - this is rural India! :)
What else ...
This is the place for those who like hiking, bird watching and being in nature. We are a couple of hours away by road from many tourist destinations also if you get too lonely or bored with us :)
