Thank you so much for the wonderful stay Edwina! The whole family was so nice, and I’m very grateful that I got to spend Christmas and New Year with you. I learned many new things, went horse riding, and experienced life on a sheep station and the Outback in general, which was amazing. The room was very comfortable, and there was always plenty food. Thank you for all the unforgettable memories!

We stayed with Nic, Rob and Dylan for 2 weeks and it was an excellent first ever work away. We stayed in a lovely cottage on their property with great views across the olive trees to an Andalusian castle in the hills. The family were super kind and made us feel very welcome from pizza and movie nights, a bbq with their friends and day trips to nearby beautiful Ronda. We helped with olive picking and other odd jobs around the house. It was a good balance between work and free time and Rob and Nic always made sure we were comfortable with work hours and tasks. A highlight was definitely spending a day with their paragliding school where we learnt to fly! Lovely people and a great experience all round. Thanks guys!

I thoroughly enjoyed my time with Paul and Katja in the mountains. Despite the heavy rain, we made the best of it and found tasks that could be accomplished. In that short time, I gained insight into their way of life – in the house, in the garden, with composting toilets – and I greatly appreciated how Paul lives in harmony with nature, values ​​balance, and leads a stress-free, mindful life. His lifestyle, his values ​​regarding organic food, sustainability, and health, and the fact that he built his own eco-house – all his knowledge deeply impressed me. Dishes were washed only with rainwater, and the birds around the house received homemade food prepared with love. Paul always knew what needed to be done and was full of energy, as was Katja. It was especially wonderful to bake bread and make marzipan with him and to experience his knowledge and stories. We had a really good conversation, and it was lovely that we shared some of the same values. I couldn't talk much with Katja since I don't speak French and she only spoke a little English, but I still enjoyed spending time with her, especially when we browsed in her favorite secondhand shop. That gave me a warm, familial feeling, especially around Christmas, or when we silently shoveled leaves outside.Their hospitality and generosity touched me deeply. I felt welcome and comfortable at all times and am very grateful for this very special Christmas experience, which I will never forget. It was wonderful to see Paul and Katha living together. I'm looking forward to the next time! Thank you so much!

The host makes here good use of Workaway. There are interesting projects for a volunteer and no shortage of tasks to get involved with. Helle (the host) has some good work skills, and made the jobs and interaction interesting. I enjoyed restoring the garden of a place more that a thousand years old half way up a mountain. Buggio is quite remote, (at the end of a bus line toward the mountains from Ventimiglia) but it is quite possible to visit the Cote D’Azure from here. In Ventimiglia Monaco is in view across the Mediterranean. Helle speaks three languages and is good company. She was able to relay history about the village going back before the formation of Italy. It is a beautiful village to say the least. I have volunteered with lots of places but never one so old. It is like stepping out of the modern world completely. The workers apartment is very nice and is also in a historic building. There is good hiking in the mountains and mountain towns and villages here. I would recommend to anyone travelling this way.

Je suis passée trois mois chez Susanna, Thomas, Nina et Zélie. Toute la famille m’a super bien accueillie dès le premier jour et je me suis sentie très à l’aise pendant tout le séjour. La communication a toujours été très facile, sans aucun malentendu. Susanna est une personne très agréable et attentive, avec qui on peut parler de tout. Elle adore le yoga et la montagne, et elle m’a cuisiné les meilleurs plats végétariens. Thomas est aussi très sympathique. Il travaille beaucoup sur la maison qu'ils sont en train de rénover. Il est guide de montagne et a toujours la motivation pour te conseiller une bonne randonnée! Il m’a aussi beaucoup aidée à améliorer mon français! Nina et Zélie sont très chaleureuses, intelligentes et amusantes. Le matin, j’avais du temps pour moi, pour faire du sport, me balader, pratiquer le français… Et l'après-midi, je m’occupais de Zélie, la plus petite. On passait notre temps à jouer et à s’amuser. J’avais les week-ends libres et j’en ai surtout profité pour faire des randonnées. C’est un endroit parfait pour randonner et aussi pour se déconnecter d’une vie qui va trop vite. C’était mon premier Workaway, et je me sens très chanceuse d’avoir rencontré cette famille et découvert cet endroit magnifique.

Pablo is an incredibly positive person who doesn't seem to let anything affect him, this is something that I really admire in him. As well as his work ethic, he is extremely calm. I helped clean/tidy his house and I varnished his ceiling for just under a week and I was able to enjoy his amazing garden and swimming pool. Tigre is a very calm place and it's very clean, beautiful and safe. We ran together and kayaked together too. Pablo helped with me any issues that I had and accommodated me teaching online and gave me full liberty. Pablo is very open-minded and kind. Thanks for everything.

Staying with Midori-san for over a month has been a great, rich and very memorable experience. Spending time with her learning and sharing stories has been without a doubt the highlight of my stay. She is truly passionate about teaching and learning, if you have some set goals, she will encourage it and help you to build a great healthy and consistent schedule! Moreover, she is a very open and curious person. So you can feel at ease while learning the routines of the house, sharing your own recipes, culture etc. The area is beautiful with plenty of rice fields and hills you can explore with the provided bikes. It is a bit remote but you can still get to wherever you need by using bike and bus to get to the train station. The work is very fair so you will have lots of free time. The house is very beautiful and traditional too. Friends and family come over pretty often, so you will get to meet with various great , fun and interesting people. I will miss my stay here dearly and would recommend it to anyone. Midori-san, thank you for everything and good luck with your French practice!!

I stayed for 4 weeks in November and december. Thorsten is an amazing host who communicates tasks clearly and always takes the time to teach them. He also makes sure you fell welcomed in the home and the community. We had to amazing dinners with friends and a lot of christmas celebrations. The town is a small community and pretty place and even in the grey period of winter we all managed to decorate it beautifully for Christmas. In short, the stay was amazing and I am already thinking about going back to experience the summer there as well and see the friend I made here.

This place offers a unique experience in a beautiful area of England. There was the chance to work along side other volunteers from other countries. In fact six volunteers were there when I was here in August. As the listing describes, volunteers have visited the house since the early eighties. We had daily meetings with a social atmosphere. Some local history was explained by the knowledgeable family of hosts. I also remember stumbling upon the home of Whinnie The Pooh while out jogging in Heartfield. I was here in August staying in very nice independent accommodation. My job was to point stone with hot-mix lime along with other gardening tasks. I ran and hiked in Ashdown Forest on days off. I would recommend it for any volunteer.

Laura & Marat are truly one of those rare couples that every host hopes to welcome — the kind you immediately trust, enjoy being around, and wish could stay longer. From day one, they were hands-on, thoughtful, and genuinely invested in the land. They helped with composting and soil building with real care and curiosity, and they took great pride in planting and tending our papaya trees. They didn’t just “do tasks” — they understood why things were done and treated the farm as if it were their own. Beyond the work, they are a beautiful, grounded, and positive couple to have around. Easy to communicate with, respectful, reliable, and full of good energy. Our days felt lighter and more enjoyable with them here, and the farm is better for the time they spent with us. We truly hope Laura & Marat return one day — our doors are always open to them. Any host in Thailand (or anywhere) would be incredibly lucky to have them. If you see their profile, don’t hesitate — they would absolutely be our first pick again. AAA++++ Highly recommended. 🌱💚

Mac and Alyssa stayed with us for about a month. They are trustworthy, reliable, and polite, and are highly skilled tradies. They fixed everything we needed done on our property and demonstrated excellent knowledge of a wide range of trade tools. We highly recommend Mac and Alyssa to other hosts and prospective employers. All the best for their future adventures.

It was wonderful meeting Lluís. He's someone with whom everything flows naturally. It was a short but very intense time. Especially since, as a financial expert, we worked together on my products. We shared meals and discussed interesting topics to improve life. I'm glad I met him and I highly recommend him. I wish him the best of luck in his new endeavors and hope he'll visit me again someday.

The people who run the hostel are so kind hearted and genuinely want you to have a good time. Just beware of many silly, silly, and outrageous jokes. I am very grateful for this experience -- would 100% come back !!!

What a work spot! Christian welcome us with a big smile and a super bedroom with seaview! We spent 5 days enjoying this incredible island! About work, Christian is full of good vibes... a king of wisdom! Keep going with inspiring projects, slowly slowly ;)) Thanks again !

My stay with Cynthia and her family was truly great ! I stayed at their place for about ten days in April, it went very fast and I loved my experience there. I learned a lot and it was very fun, I had tasks to do throughout the day like gardening, and house work like emptying the dishwasher, vacuuming... I even had the chance to make a banana bread (even though it was a bit grilled). The family was very nice, as well as the friends and the spanish exchange person who stayed with them. With a very special mention to Cynthia who always made sure I felt great, she is very accommodating. The cat and dogs are a very friendly company during the day and for the time I stayed there, the little cottage was very enjoyable with more than everything you need. The house is warm and you feel very welcome. We cooked together, I attended everyday diner with more or less people (always good) and even a birthday party diner, it was great, I was able to fully experience their culture and way of living. As for the surrounding environment, I always enjoyed going with Cynthia to the shop, it was very close, or going for a walk in the huge park of their nice town and it is also close to Kilkenny via buses to go on the week-end ! As part of my first experience in my month away, it was a pleasure to help them and I am always happy when I recall learning to know them. So thank you, and like the other workayers here, I would recommand it without any hesitation.
