    Description

Community based project - Using Ancient Mayan Techniques in Antigua, Guatemala

We have created a beautiful farm and community led initiative near the heart of Antigua. We have a beautiful vision for the space that is thoughtfully and slowly being created day by day. The farm has Mayan spirals where we grow vegetables, flowers, and herbs. We have a puppy & kitten rescue center, a mushroom cultivation shed, fruit forest, a soccerl field and green space for sports/yoga, a kitchen (eco cafe) where we are experimenting with creating a healthy menu of fresh salads, small dishes, power balls, and smoothies. We strive to create this project in the most community oriented and sustainable way as possible. Our goal is help the local community to integrate into this healthy/selfustainable lifestyle and help educate and train people in different areas & skill sets. Through classes, workshops, festivals, sports events, gathering, celebrations and hard work we are manifesting this vision every day.

    Accommodation

We have one room available for a volunteer that is on site. This is available for a committed volunteer who is interested in living a healthy lifestyle (no drugs, partying, smoking)

Meals will include with one natural drink, freshly picked salad from the garden, and tortillas, the meal is most likely vegetarian for volunteers.

We also offer spanish classes onsite for our volunteers at and extra cost of Q50 per hour (aprox $7). Flexible schedule. Local teachers with experience.

Will be living in San Felipe de Jesus Antigua Guatemala

For all other volunteers: We do offer housing options around the farm (family stay, guest house, apartments, etc) at more accesible prices. Farm is located 5 min by car from the charming town of Antigua. (25 minutes by walking from central park) Public transport is also available (chicken buses, tuktuks, Uber). So most volunteers stay at hostels in Antigua or with local host families.
