Meine Liebe zur Freiwilligenarbeit und dazu, anderen zu helfen, wächst von Tag zu Tag – Erfahrung für Erfahrung. Hier finde ich mein Glück und auch mich selbst. Meine Erfahrung mit der wunderbaren Martina werde ich niemals vergessen. Sie ist ein großartiger und ruhiger Mensch, der jeden Tag schöner macht – vom Sonnenaufgang bis zum leuchtenden Mond. Ihr Zuhause ist wie ein wunderschönes Museum, voller Dinge aus verschiedenen Ländern, aus jeder Kunst und in allen Farben… begleitet von Musik aus aller Welt, die dem Ort eine besondere und lebendige Atmosphäre verleiht. Von ganzem Herzen habe ich mich nicht wie ein Freiwilliger gefühlt, sondern wie ein Teil dieser wunderbaren Familie. Was ich hier erlebt habe, ist schwer zu beschreiben… Ist es ein Zufall? Oder eine Antwort auf eine Frage, die ich mir lange gestellt habe? Ich habe wirklich das Gefühl, auf dem richtigen Weg zu sein – einem Weg voller Abenteuer und Entdeckungen. Und das Schönste ist, dass ich meine wunderbare Freundin Anna getroffen habe, die ich seit vier Jahren kenne. Ich habe ihr Arabisch beigebracht, aber wir haben uns nie persönlich getroffen… nur über soziale Medien. Doch das Leben hatte eine schöne Überraschung für uns: Der Zufall hat uns hier in Deutschland, in der Stadt München, zusammengeführt. Und nicht nur das – sie wohnt nur fünf Minuten zu Fuß von Martina entfernt… als hätte das Schicksal dieses Treffen von Anfang an geplant. Diese Momente lassen mich jedes Mal von Herzen lächeln, wenn ich an sie denke. Vielen Dank, vielen Dank von Herzen… und danke an das Leben ❤️

I was very happy to welcome Aoefi one week! She was always ready to help ,and want to do well what she have to do ,she Can come again at my home if and when she want !!

Ellie is a sociable, communicative, and proactive person who is always ready to help! :) It is clear that she loves animals and has no qualms about 'getting her hands dirty' if necessary. Even though she didn't have prior experience with subcutaneous injections, she didn't hesitate to do them, nor did she get flustered if the administration wasn't as easy as expected. She was always patient with Simi when he grumbled a bit. She remained steady and followed through with the procedure. She was very careful of the fact that he is an older cat. =) The same went for Wicca—whenever she realized Ellie was trying to give her a pill, Ellie would try different ways to make sure she took it! At all times, she respected our cats' boundaries and quickly learned how far she could push! ;) When we got home, the apartment was in perfect condition, and our kitties were very well cared for—it was obvious they were very comfortable with her! :) During our days together, we had the chance to try her 'guacamelie,' and I have to say, it’s delicious! She also welcomed us back with a lovely dish featuring ingredients that were new to us! :) She also sent us daily photos so we could see how they were doing! If you need a responsible and hardworking person, you can count on Ellie! We’ve truly found a new friend! :) You know you have a room waiting for you in A Coruña! :)

Klara stays nearly two weeks at the farm. At the beginning a bit shy she quickly understand the daily life. And I discover a person really surprising on lots of different skills, very strong, very smart to handle task (even the less funny as digging !!!). She's really ready to take all opportunity to discover (piano, drawing, driving,...). She is a really subtil mind and a strong spirit who can help a lot in all projects

Ava has now joined us for the second time on the farm, and that alone already says a lot. It’s always a special sign when someone chooses to come back, and with Ava we were genuinely happy to welcome her again into the project. She is an incredibly dedicated and reliable worker, consistently bringing a great attitude to every task. Whether working independently or as part of a team, Ava approaches everything with care, energy, and a real sense of responsibility. She quickly understands what needs to be done and carries it out with both efficiency and attention to detail. Beyond her work, Ava is a truly lovely presence in the community. She connects naturally with other volunteers, contributes to a positive and supportive atmosphere, and is always kind, respectful, and easy to be around. Just like we experienced last year, she brings a calm, grounded energy that fits perfectly with life on the farm. Having Ava here again felt very natural—like she was already part of the place. We’re very grateful for her contribution and would welcome her back anytime without hesitation. Highly recommended to any host looking for someone trustworthy, hardworking, and genuinely wonderful to share a project with.

Disfrute mucho de mi tiempo acá. Hacíamos mucho menos voluntariado de lo que esperaba porque Alan nos dejó ir por muchas caminatas. Alan y Dionny y todos los de más aquí son muy amables y yo les recomiendo este lugar 100%!

I had a wonderful time at the finca. Klara, Agustin and Saila are very welcoming and make you feel a part of the family from the very first moment. The atmosphere in the mountains is very relaxed and the work schedule is flexible. With your free time, you can learn all about the coffee they produce and also visit the beautiful town of Jericó nearby. I would highly recommend this project to others. Thank you for everything!

Elena joined in here for a while, and I think it was nice and cosy. She helps in where needed, and is on the right place. Especially nice attention and care to the dogs, sheep, cat, parrot and chicken. I always enjoy when shyness fade away a little :) She is always welcome back, for and update on the tv bench and farmly adventures, and recommended for other hosts.

I stayed at Jackie's for a month between Feb and March, and I can without a doubt say it was the craziest, funniest, and coolest (-36C at times) trip I’ll probably ever have! It was great fun, but certainly hard work. I think when you are working every day with no rest days you forget to appreciate just how beautiful the landscape is, the amount of culture there is to take in, and how awesome Jackie and her family are- but having been back in the UK for a month now, every time I tell stories it just sounds crazier and crazier! We did lots of fun stuff, like bingo, teaparties, painting competitions and visiting nearby towns, but even when you aren’t out or seeing people, there are always things to keep you busy. Jackie and I painted the upstairs on my weekend alone and ended up having a rave! (safety third!) The animals are hilarious! I adored the inside cats, particularly Ginger, and the sheep are totally cute!! I was sad to miss lambing season :( BUT Jackie took us round some of the neighboring farms to see lambs and calves so she really makes sure to give you the full experience. I had an absolute blast here, made some great friends and memories, and would recommend Jackie and her family every time! Thank you for an awesome experience!!

I stayed with Carol for just one week but I had such a great time I wish I could have stayed longer! I mostly helped with the restauration of a new property including digging up new vegetable beds, cementing and overall clean up which was a lot of fun and the workload was very fair. The rest of the day I either explored the truly stunning surroundings of Cherven or spent time with Carols dog Mongul or one of her three cats which are all way too cute :) Also Carol is an excellent cook and prepared a lot of delicious meals while I was there! Overall I would highly recommend staying with Carol :)

Fun place for a sense of community and cultural exchange. The work is more demanding than other workaways but also more fulfilling

Matti & Sophia were great helpers, tackling a variety of tasks. They looked after everything very well while we were away for work off site, We enjoyed getting to know them. Highly recommended!

It has been a great pleasure working with Delia. She is super sincere about her work. You can easily rely on her. She is extremely talented, and is gifted with true talent of making every one comfortable around her. She mingled very well with people around in our village. I strongly recommend her for volunteering. Trust me she is definitely worth taking the bet. Wish you an amazing journey ahead. Remember you always have a home in India.

Maite, It was a great pleasure to host you and receive your help. It was a brief -just a few days- but beautiful and meaningful sharing. We do have many common interests -philosophy and psychology, crafts and arts, nature and personal development- so it was great that our life’s paths crossed. I'm sure your energy and skills will be very supportive to any workaway host, as you are smart and hard-working, helpful and kind. I very much enjoyed the time Diego was here, he is a quiet, friendly and diligent young man, always pleasant to be with. No matter which task, he just did it. He rescued me when the snow started falling, having no tractor for a couple days, BIG BIG THANKS! I also enjoyed preparing meals for us, he liked everything I cooked :-) I hope the horse sense he learned here will stay with him and wish him all the best for his further travels! Come back any time! Luna waits for you ;-)

Carlos and Marcela were real gems and one of the sweetest people we have met! The communication was superb before, during and after their stay at our place. They took care of the animals, house and garden and offered help where needed. Above that they were very respectfully and left the house in superb conditions! They were also very flexible,and pro-active which was very pleasant! Absolutely people who you can trust. They are also nice to chat with. I can recommend them 1000% as workawayers. Thank you so much and wishing you both a nice time in Brazil!

Jean Luc was also my first WorkAway host. I was there with my friend Klara. At first, I had to get used to the surroundings. He lives on a large farm in the middle of an idyllic countryside setting. There’s still a lot of work to be done in the house, so it might be a bit messy. It’s best to bring your slippers. When it’s cold, the stove in the living room is the only source of heat. The kitchen and bathroom are cooler than the rest of the house (when it’s cold, of course). So, unless it’s summer, make sure you bring something warm. Jean Luc is an incredibly smart and warm-hearted person. It’s very important to him that you feel at home. He’s always up for a chat and is very empathetic. He also has a lot of talents! For example drawing and painting. Learning from him was one of my Highlights! He also has a great circle of friends. You go to a café for breakfast every morning. (You have to pay for this yourself; it costs around €5 every morning. You must pay for any special requests regarding food yourself.) My friend Klara and I took Jean Luc’s friends to our hearts very quickly. You can have deep and thoughtful conversations with both Jean Luc and his friends (especially Corine). The work was varied. (Spreading compost around newly planted trees, building and restoring furniture, finishing electrical installations, digging and clearing the ground, transporting hay with a small tractor.) You can learn lots of new things. Jean Luc gives very detailed instructions. In the evenings, there’s also a bit of wine as a reward. If you wanz to know more you can check out my friend Klara's feedback. She gave a detailed feedback. ;) I can highly recommend this place. It’s best to give yourself a bit of time to settle in – once you do, you won’t want to leave! Thank you for this experience!

We stayed with Luigia and Luca for about 3.5 weeks and it was truly an amazing experience. The property is beautiful and the amount of work they have put into it and continue to put into it is incredibly impressive. The working hours were flexible and we usually started in the morning. The tasks were very diverse: repairing and fixing fences, removing unwanted plants, separating stones from soil, mixing cement, learning the basic techniques of house building from Luca and much more, it never got boring. For us, it was truly a pleasure and we are very grateful for this experience. Luigia and Luca are incredibly warm and inspiring people. No matter what it was about they were always there for us and took care of us far beyond what one could expect. Every day we were surprised with new wonderful dishes from Luigia. Besides her amazing cooking skills, we also learned so many useful tips and tricks from her especially about gardening, plants and everyday life. And if you are lucky, you can enjoy Luca playing classical music, a very special moment. They always made sure we were doing well and felt comfortable. Despite small language differences, communication was always easy and natural and we quickly felt at home with them. Anyone who has the chance to stay with them as a Workawayer can consider themselves very lucky. You should be truly grateful to spend time with such kind, hardworking and genuine people. We are definitely very grateful for this experience and would come back anytime.

I had an amazing time at Ferdi’s and Franca’s place. I stayed for almost two weeks in one of their yurts, and I couldn’t have asked for more. The food was great, the views were incredible, and we worked and explored together in a very friendly, supportive atmosphere. Altogether, it was a truly enjoyable experience.

Our first Workaway experience was with Kerstin and Carsten, and it could not have been better. They are very trustworthy people, and we felt safe during the whole month we stayed with them. We had many good moments together. Kerstin was kind, caring, and helpful from the first contact. She helped us plan our trip to her house and sent all the train connections with a lot of care. She also planned trips for us around Germany. We visited Hohenleipisch, Dresden, Munich, Leipzig, Bad Liebenwerda, and Finsterwalde. She always did her best to give us a good experience and cooked very tasty German food. Kerstin, you welcomed us like a mother. Thank you so much for that. Carsten, you are a kind and lovely person. The time with you was great. Thank you for being so patient and attentive with me and Jenifa. We will always remember you with affection and hope to see you again soon. We also met Kelvin, a volunteer who stayed with the family before. He gave us many travel tips and became a good friend. We also met Tim. We spent a few hours together, and it was enough to feel a strong connection. Tim, we miss you and hope to see you again. It was amazing to see how a German family lives. We will always remember the moments, the lunches, and the dinners we shared. We hope we left a little bit of ourselves and a little bit of Brazil with you. See you soon.
