  Hi traveller! We are Luigia and Luca, 63 and 58 years old. We live on the island of Fuerteventura (Canary Islands, Spain). 5 years ago we bought land on which to build our house, with an orchard and fruit trees. So far we have managed to build more than half of the project and we want to finish the construction to fully dedicate ourselves to producing our natural foods and having as much food self-sufficiency as possible. So in addition to the construction work, year after year, we are improving the orchard soil, which is very silty and compact.
  I (Luigia) take care of the vegetable garden, the house already built and the kitchen. I would like to have more time to prepare delicious recipes, sew, paint and take care of the vegetable garden and that's why we want to have some help to carry out our project.
  Luca, on the other hand, is the all-rounder of the house: he knows how to do many things, electricity, plumbing, construction, car repair, ironwork, solar panel systems and wind turbines, etc. etc. Many of our personal characteristics derive from this: I am the creative and organizer of the house, he is the factotum always thoughtful and intent on finding technical solutions to problems. In the end, however, we both work together with all our strength and energy in the construction work.
  Our house is located in a real "work in progress" construction site and is therefore subject to continuous changes and adaptations.
  The next steps of the work in which we will need help are: the construction of two walled terraces and a swimming pool. Learning how to do these things can be very useful for anyone.
  The site is located at 376 m asl, in a countryside landscape, overlooking the sea, 15 minutes by car from the capital of the Island and the sea, and 30 from some of the most beautiful beaches in Canarias. It is a very quiet place, ideal for resting and enjoying free time.
  Travelers who will live with us will need to rent a car to move around in their free time, as the area where we live is in the countryside, with very limited public transport (only 2 rides in the morning to reach the capital, about 10 km away). To get to the nearest town we can provide travelers with a mountain bike (the outward journey to the city is downhill, but the return route will be quite "training" uphill).
  Our house produces energy only with solar panels and a wind turbine.
  Our food diet includes all kinds of fruits and vegetables, meat, fish and eggs. We do not eat products with flour and sugar, nor do we consume alcohol. So in our pantry there is never any bread, pasta, flour, legumes, or industrial products packaged with these ingredients. If the traveler wants to eat different things, he will have to buy them on his own.
  We do not have pets and we are not smokers. At home we have a self-built gym in which we train almost every day.
  Our day starts quietly around 8 am with a nice breakfast of fresh and dried fruit, good fats, butter, dark chocolate and finally a bulletproof coffee drink that gives us the right sprint to start the day. From Monday to Friday we work hard, but without stress, until about 1 p.m. Then we dedicate ourselves to the preparation of a healthy lunch based on vegetables and meat or fish or eggs (we alternate the three). When I have time, I like to bake a dessert. Before lunch we also normally do some exercises with weights in Luca's self-built gym. In the afternoon we relax, sunbathe, or devote ourselves to the work of the garden or go to do the weekly shopping for food or materials for the work. We don't have dinner, we just have a herbal tea. However, our guests can, if they wish, prepare dinner on his own.
  
  
  
  Hola! Somos Luigia y Luca, 63 y 58 años, vivimos en la isla de Fuerteventura (Canarias, España). Hace 5 años compramos un terreno donde construir nuestra casa, con huerto y frutales. Hasta ahora hemos conseguido construir más de la mitad del proyecto y deseamos finalizar la construcción para dedicarnos totalmente a producir nuestro alimentos naturales y tener más autosuficiencia alimentaria posible. Entonces además del trabajo de construcción, año tras año, estamos mejorando el suelo del huerto, muy limoso y compacto.
  Yo (Luigia) me ocupo del huerto, de la casa ya construida y de la cocina. Me gustaría tener más tiempo para preparar deliciosas recetas, coser, pintar y cuidar el huerto y por eso queremos tener algo de ayuda para llevar a cabo nuestro proyecto. Luca, en cambio, es el “manita” de la casa: sabe hacer muchas cosas, electricidad, fontanería, construcción, reparación de coches, herrajes, sistemas de paneles solares y aerogeneradores, etc. etc. Muchas de nuestras características personales derivan de esto: yo soy la creativa y la organizadora de la casa, él es el factotum siempre intentando encontrar soluciones técnicas a los problemas. Al final, sin embargo, ambos trabajamos juntos con todas nuestras fuerzas y energía en el trabajo de construcción. Nuestra casa está ubicada en una verdadera obra "en progreso" y, por lo tanto, está sujeta a continuos cambios y adaptaciones.
  Los siguientes pasos de la obra en los que necesitaremos ayuda son: la construcción de dos terrazas amuralladas y una piscina. Aprender a hacer estas cosas puede ser muy útil para cualquier persona.
  El sitio se encuentra a 376 m s.n.m., en un paisaje de campo, con vista al mar, a 15 minutos en coche de la capital de la Isla, del mar y a 30 de unas de las playas más hermosas de Canarias. Es un sitio muy tranquilo, ideal para descansar y gozar del tiempo libre.
  Los viajeros que vayan a vivir con nosotros necesitarán alquilar un coche para desplazarse en su tiempo libre, ya que la zona donde vivimos está en plena naturaleza con un transporte público muy limitado (solo 2 viajes por la mañana para llegar a la capital, a unos 10 km). Para llegar a la ciudad más cercana podemos proporcionar una bicicleta de montaña (el camino para llegar a la capital es cuesta abajo, pero el regreso es una subida bastante "de entrenamiento").
  La casa produce energia unicamente con paneles solares y aerogenerador. Nuestra dieta alimentaria incluye todas clases de frutos y verduras, carne, pescado y huevos. No comemos productos con harinas y azúcar, ni consumimos alcol.
  Por lo tanto, en nuestra despensa nunca hay pan, pasta, harina, legumbres o productos industriales envasados con estos ingredientes. Si el viajero quiere comer cosas diferentes, tendrá que comprarlas por su cuenta.
  No tenemos mascotas y no somos fumadores. En casa tenemos un gimnasio autoconstruido en el cual entrenamos casi todos los días.

  Los viajeros pueden aprender muchas habilidades relacionadas con la construcción, la manutención y el arreglo de la propria casa, o bien resolver problemas en autonomía cuando sea necesario, sin sentirse inadecuado y sin perderse de ánimo. Dependiendo de las fases del trabajo, se puede tratar de entender como se hace la cimentación de una vivienda (pozos, encofrado, hierro,losa), pilares, construcción de un muro, crear aberturas para puertas y ventanas, hacer un encalado de una pared, etc.

  Help

  Normally the two of us who are involved in the construction project are the two of us. In some phases of construction work, which can last 15-30 days, the help of a laborer is needed for simple operations such as loading the concrete mixer with gravel, cement and sand, so that the material is always available for use. Or it can be about transporting the wheelbarrow with the material already prepared from one place to another (maximum 10-15 meters). It is a simple job, it only requires people with energy and good physical condition. In all operations Luca will be explaining how to proceed with materials and simple tools.
  
  Normalmente los que son involucrados en el proyecto de construcción somos nosotros dos. En algunas fases de trabajo de la construcción,que pueden durar 15-30 días, se necesita ayuda de un peón para simples operaciones como cargar la hormigonera con grava, cemento y arena, de manera que el matetial sea siempre disponible para el uso. O bien se puede tratar del transporte de la carretilla con el material ya preparado de un lugar a otro (máximo 10-15 metros). Es un trabajo simple, solo requiere personas con energía y buonas condiciones físicas. En todas las operaciones Luca estará esplicando como proceder con materiales y simples herramientas.

  Accommodation

  The guest will have at their disposal a spacious room with a double bed and a newly built bathroom, both newly built, totally new and equipped and furnished. The room and bathroom are located in our house, but will be for the exclusive use of the guest.

  In free time you can visit the capital of the Island, go to discover beaches and charming corners, visit other nearby cities. In coastal towns there are many possibilities to sign up for classes and practice water sports (surfing, katesurfing, windsurfing, paddle, diving, etc.), possibility of boat fishing, climbing, etc.

En las localidad de costa hay muchas posibilidades de inscribirse a clases y practicar deportes acuáticos (surf, katesurf, windsurf, paddle, buceo, etc).Posibilidad de pesca en barco, escalada etc.
