Please remember that we ask you to come at least 4 days early, so the cats can get used to you and we can go over everything regarding their medication. If you need to arrive a few days early or stay a few days later than agreed, due to transport prices or any other reason, that won't be a problem at all!

One week at the end of January/beginning of February 2027 (exact days to be confirmed)

    ----

We will have more vacations days, just don't know when yet! Feel free to contact us!

We might have a last-minute trip organized on short notice — if you’re interested, feel free to contact us!
That way, we’ll contact you before looking for someone else. :)

Contact us only if you have experience with cats.

We are a couple (David (44) and Joana (40)) with two cats and looking for someone to look after them while we are away. The cats are Simi (20) and Wicca (12). They need daily medication (one with a syringe and needle- subcutaneous injection) but they are used to it.

We will probably be absent most of the time but we love to host people from around the world and we are used to welcoming travelers from Couchsurfing, Home Exchange, etc... We will be happy to show you around and have dinner together while we are here.

We would prefer if you can come a few days early so we can show you how everything works around the house.

  • Help

    Help

Just need someone to take care of two cats. Feed them, clean the litter box and medicate them. Simi takes a shot (with a syringe) twice a day and drop of liquid in the mouth. Wicca takes a three pills in the mouth (one in the morning and two at night). Don't be afraid of the medication part. They are used to it. ;)
Please keep in mind that Simi is a senior cat, so some cleaning tasks related to him might be necessary. For example, he might vomit occasionally, scatter litter around the house, or sometimes step in his pee or poop while in the litter box.

A cleaning person comes once a week (every Thursday, only to clean the house) but you are encouraged to keep the house clean.

In exchange you'll get your own room, it's the one I use as my office from 9h to 18h. While we are away you will have the whole house for yourself.

You can use the kitchen and eat whatever you can find in the pantry or fridge. While we are here we will gladly pay for the meals we have together, but you'll have to buy groceries and pay for them while we are away.

Please, we ask for respect for our home, our cats, and our neighbors.
Kindly do not bring guests to our house, as that could cause stress for our kitties and make it harder to give them their medication.
Also, we wouldn’t feel comfortable having strangers in our home without our permission.
Please avoid making noise between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m.

There is a pull-out bed in the office. It can be used as a single bed (80x200 cm) or as double bed (160x200 cm).

There's also our primary bedroom with a queen size bed (160 x 200) with a private bathroom but we prefer if you use the office.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

The house is located in the outskirts of La Coruña, the area is called Temple (Cuesta de la Tapia).

The area is very quiet, it's a residential building next to the Casa de la Cultura de Cambre (called Villa Concepción) so we ask you to be quiet and respectful of the neighbours.
Smoking is not allow in the house.

There are coffee shops, supermarkets (open until 2am), banks, pharmacy etc within 300 meters.

There is a bus stop 300 meters away, going every 15 minutes to the city center of La Coruna. We can leave you a bus card so you can ride the bus for free.

La Coruña is a great place to meet people. There are several language exchange groups every week.

The city centre of La Coruña is compact and walkable. It sits on a peninsula so you can take a stroll overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, or cut through the Old Town from one side to the other. There's a great ambiance in the streets to drink a glass of wine, beers, tapas and great food.

    Ways to get here:

In the city of A Coruña, there’s:
    - An airport (LCG )
    - A train station
    -A bus station
    -Blablacar

Depending on where you’re coming from, you can use one of these options to get here. If you arrive after 5 p.m. or on a weekend, we’ll be happy to pick you up with no problem.

If you are a citizen of the European Union, we recommend that when you come, you bring your European Health Insurance Card. We hope you won’t need it, but since it’s free, it’s better to be safe. This way you won’t have to pay to receive medical care if needed. Check in your country how to request it for free.

    Profile photo of Wicca

    Wicca (13 years)

Wicca is our youngest! She is shy at the beginning, but with time, she will be super warmly!
She needs medication twice a day and she's deaf. But she has no trouble understanding that you're going to feed her! 😉

    Profile photo of Simi

    Simi (21 years)

Simi is our oldest cat. He needs medication twice a day.
At first he is more friendly then Wicca, he will say hello to you right way! But he can be grumpy, despite it looks like he might bite you, he never does.
Once he trusts you, he will be happy to cuddle next to you, 😊
