Thank you Olgi and David. I just wanted to thank you for such an incredible week. It was an amazing experience for us to feel like we were part of your amazing family. Please thank all your family for welcoming us with open arms. During our time with Olgi and David we picked fruit in their gardens, chopped fire wood , made jams and built a new chicken house and fed the animals and made fires on a daily basis. The family looked after us well allowing a couple of hours a work each day at the most suitable moments with the weather. Breakfast was good, followed by a large lunch and smaller evening spread of food. We had an incredible meal on the last day of lamb that was roaming the fields that morning. Olgi and David shared with us their principals of living and that was so insightful. Olgi and David are amazing people and we will take their qualities of warmth, love and kindness for all with us ♥️

I was staying with Joshua, his kind family for some weeks. It is a wonderful organization, leading, funding and organising different projects around Chiwawa District. It is busy in the sectors of health, wellbeing, education, youth, agriculture and livelihood support. After having a nice orientation meeting, I could visit some projects where the organization is involved, like an HIV-infected people's group or a Pre-School, which was very touching. The lack of funding in an overall poor environment is obvious, so I'm convinced that some projects couldn't survive without organizations like this. Joshua, the director and my host is a friendly, hardworking but relaxed and calm person. He takes his different roles very seriously. It's impressing what he built in the last years together with his committed stuff. At least my main work was done at the Primary School, which is supported by the organization. I was teaching English and Maths in class 5, 6 and 7 together with the local teachers who welcomed me very nicely. I could also take part of a subject called 'Life Skills', what was very interesting for me. The children and adolescents are really adorable, curious and so kind. They were happy about everything I offered to do with them. To be honest, the heat can be a bit challenging but the people around are very friendy and the nature is stunning. Just take a walk around Kamuzu bridge! I highly recommend this place. You should bring a powerbank, a tortch and of course sun protection. If a mosquito net is not already there - you can buy one for 10.000 Kwacha (= 5€).

I spend a really nice time here at the hostel. it's a new space so everything is new and clean and Shaz is full time there for everything the guest need. I been one week teaching yoga classes every morning and was lovely, the hostel is really social and the location is perfect, I also had plenty of time for surf everyday, Mirissa is so beautiful! thanks you Shaz for having me there🙏🏾☺️

Max, Ele & Moka are truly amazing personalities!! I had the joy of hosting them for six and a half weeks, and honestly, I couldn’t have asked for better company. My tiniest dog was about to undergo major brain surgery, which meant I had to rush to Madrid for a week. Without hesitation, Max and Ele packed up and drove 13 hours all the way from Italy to Spain, so I could focus on my little pup. It was a completely chaotic situation 😅 we hadn’t even known each other and I just handed them my house keys, gave them money to fill my diesel heater, and left the next morning. But from the very start, they gave me such a warm, trusting feeling that I could leave completely at ease. They kept in touch the whole time, sending me updates, photos, and videos of my dogs. When I came back, we had the most wonderful time together. Max and Ele are incredibly hardworking. Max immediately took charge of the firewood, cutting it with the chainsaw and making fires for us in the evenings. I never even asked, he just naturally took care of it ☺️ Ele is a phenomenal cook! I ate so well while they stayed. She also kept the house in order, tidied the kitchen, washed dishes, and even baked. We agreed not to have strict rules or schedules, so, they could sleep in and work whenever they wanted. Just a sense of give-and-take, and Max and Ele far exceeded my expectations. In just six and a half weeks, they transformed my home. My property is huge, but they managed to mow the lawn, plant new flowers, repair the fence (twice, because my dog kept breaking it 😂), paint, maintain the pool, and still take care of my dogs. For all their effort, they get a solid 10/10 from me!! 💯 Beyond all that, Max and Ele are incredibly kind and funny and huge animal lovers. It’s so easy and fun to spend time with them. We went hiking, visited the lake with the dogs, watched movies in the evenings and even hosted a raclette night with my friends. I truly enjoyed every moment and will miss them so much. I only let them leave with a heavy hear. They had to promise to come back, whether for another stay or just a holiday! And Moka… oh, Moka is just as wonderful as they are! Full of energy and love, she plays with everyone and keeps the whole gang on their toes. My dogs ran, played, chased each other all over the property and fetched balls. Inside the house we sometimes had to slow them down because they were using the furniture and sofa as a parkour playground 😂 I can wholeheartedly recommend Max, Ele & Moka to any host looking for trustworthy, hardworking, and absolutely lovable Workawayers. They’ll bring joy, laughter, and so much heart to your home 🩵

I stayed at the farm recently and my experience was incredible. Sam and Rowena are two of the kindest people i have ever met and i am so grateful i was able to have my first workaway with them. Sam and Rowena always make sure that the workawayers are comfortable and happy and the work is also great as there is opportunity for both indoor and outdoor work which are both very enjoyable. It is in an amazing location with lots of great walks to take and also very close to the village. The perfect workaway and i am excited to be able to return one day.

No tenemos palabras suficientes para describir lo maravillosa que fue nuestra experiencia con Chisato. Sin duda, ha sido una de las mejores experiencias que hemos tenido como familia recibiendo voluntarios. Chisato es una persona noble, dulce, atenta, respetuosa y cariñosa, con un carácter excepcional. Compartió un mes con nosotros, y desde el primer momento se integró perfectamente a nuestra familia. Se convirtió en una más de nosotros. Su español mejoró día a día y con nuestras niñas generó una conexión muy especial que estamos seguros será permanente. Durante su estadía nos ayudó en una gran variedad de tareas: construcción de cercos, trasplante de árboles y maquis, corte de césped, acolchado, trasplante de almácigos, podas, distintas cosechas y preparación para la feria. También participó activamente en el Mercado Local y en un segundo mercado en Puerto Varas. Además, colaboró en las tareas diarias del hogar y cuidó a nuestras hijas con mucha responsabilidad y cariño. Siempre estuvo disponible para ayudar en todo, con excelente disposición y actitud. Es una persona maravillosa, responsable y comprometida. Estamos convencidos de que destacará en cualquier lugar donde esté, ya que tiene una gran capacidad de adaptación y aprende con rapidez. La recomendamos sin ninguna duda como voluntaria, trabajadora y, sobre todo, como persona. Chisato es de esas personas que pasan por tu vida y dejan huella. La extrañamos mucho. Afortunadamente, pudimos compartir un pequeño viaje familiar el día de su despedida, lo que hizo aún más especial el cierre de esta hermosa experiencia. Siempre será bienvenida en nuestro hogar.

Everything was perfect. We learnd a lot of things about nature, had the time to ask question, eat every day something different and delicious, sleep well in a beautiful yourte, had the time to break alone for lunch. John and Asli take the time to listen and answer question sincerely. Recommand 100% !

Carl es un joven entusiasta, con muchas ganas de descubrir nuevas culturas y lugares. Es respetuoso, conversador y tiene una muy buena disposición para aprender. Habla inglés con fluidez y actualmente está aprendiendo español, lo cual valoramos mucho. Compartió 11 días con nosotros y fue de gran ayuda en distintos proyectos. Nos apoyó en la construcción del cerco para los árboles de maqui y también participó activamente en el proyecto del nuevo gallinero que estamos finalizando. Colaboró en la instalación de polines, malla y cantoneras, siempre con buena actitud y compromiso. Además, nos ayudó un día con la leña y en la cosecha de mora y maqui. Fue muy gentil al traernos un presente; lo recordaremos cada día cuando tomemos nuestro té, ya que su detalle fue realmente significativo para nosotros. También agradecemos mucho los regalitos para las niñas, fue un gesto muy dulce de su parte. Le deseamos el mayor de los éxitos en sus próximos proyectos y que continúe aprendiendo y desarrollando nuevas habilidades. Estamos seguros de que lo logrará.

It was our first Workaway experience and we couldn't have asked for more! Stephanie was very helpful in suggesting things to do in Hamburg. As for work, we agreed on a few tasks to complete over two or three days so we had time to organize our outings and never worked on Sundays. About food, we almost always ate on our own, and Stephanie bought us what we needed. However, we also had dinners with Stephanie where we shared some constructive conversations. A special mention goes to Monty, their dog, who is simply amazing. We had a couple's experience and had two separate rooms and bathrooms—fantastic! We highly recommend Stephanie as a host.

Amelie and Fiona are such great helper! Both are very reliable and accurate in what they are doing.They always listened very carefully when I explained something and then implemented it exactly as instructed. They always did everything with a smile and very enthusiastic. Although it rained terribly the whole time, it did not spoil their mood. On top of that, our water problem in the house, but even that kept them always friendly and committed. They often had to go out in the rain, doing so with a lot of understanding that it was simply necessary. Both spent a lot of time with the cats, which I personally always really enjoy. By the way, their crepes are fantastic, so don't miss the chance to have them make some for you! I wish there would be more like these 2 young woman in the world.

Julius and Mama Flo are truly good people. They provide everything you need, the place is really great and they are doing something truly impactful for the kids. They have really thought of everything (which is awesome!), so it can sometimes be hard to find ways to be helpful and at times it can feel a bit “touristic.” That’s how I felt sometimes, but it really depends on what you are looking for. If you want to enjoy some time on your own, explore Jinja, it will be great. Julius also helped me with an issue at another school, where the kids were not treated well. Thank you very much for this.

Marina stayed with us for about two and a half months, and we truly appreciated having her here. It was something special to have her here for that long. She works very independently and is well organized. She loved discovering new vegetables and always made sure that no food went bad. Marina brought a beautiful mix of Asian and Mediterranean cooking into our home. One highlight were her Chinese ban (steamed buns), and in general she cooked with a lot of joy, care, and creativity. She showed great energy in the kitchen and clearly enjoyed dedicating herself to this role, which enriched our everyday life very much. Marina also has a warmth and gentle presence and was very good with the children. We really appreciated her calm nature and the deep conversations we shared. We are grateful for the time we spent together and would be very happy to welcome Marina back to Alvaschein anytime.

Anka was with us in September, a great worker, very good in the garden and with all the other activities we do, painting, wood moving and so on. We loved her positive energy and enjoyed good conversations about dreams and life. She is very musical and entertained us with some lovely songs, my favourite was “bye-bye Miss American pie “ . She is at home with camping and the great outdoors. I would definitely recommend Anka, a great workawayer.

Respectful couple, was able to adapt to our massif plan change due to weather and stayed with the same energy until the end. Always willing to give a hand, can only recommend.

We really enjoyed hosting Zan for a week. She was a respectful and intuitive house guest, and very easy to get along with. We enjoyed interesting conversations throughout the day and particularly in the evenings over dinner or a cup of tea. She was great with our kids, particularly the youngest, and spent lots of time engrossed in games with her! We liked that she made herself at home and seemed comfortable adapting to the rhythms of our household. Zan helped with jobs around the property like gardening and collecting wood. A highly recommended guest. All the best with the rest of your travels!

Adrienne was such a joy. She was a hard worker who was willing to get stuck into whatever task she was given to do. The worked well indoors and outdoors. No task was too challenging. She was willing to get involved and also brought a bright and cheerful spirit to whatever she was doing. Adrienne has a wonderful sense of humour and enjoyed good banter. She is quick witted and very friendly. It was a pleasure to have her around and we would welcome her back any time.

We could not ask for a better work away couple! - Nov and his girlfriend stayed with us and were super hardworking and enthusiastically took on any task we asked - also they basically looked after us by cooking and cleaning- we loved hanging out with them and had heaps of laughs - we are so glad we met them!

I spent 4 weeks in Acacías, although it only felt like 1 week because the time flew by. I spent 1.5 hours a day teaching English Monday through Friday to the same group of 4–6 students. This allowed us to not only get on a first-name basis, but also really get to know each other’s goals and interests. Watching these students progress each week was truly my favorite part. Fernando and Daniel are some of the best hosts you could ask for. They accommodate your needs, make sure you feel comfortable, and answer any questions you have. They also joined the volunteers for lunch and dinner most days, which was always a great time. The accommodation is comfortable and has most of the supplies you need. Overall, the town of Acacías is very safe and is a great opportunity to practice your Spanish—or learn it from scratch like I did! Thank you again, Fernando and Daniel! My time at Two Rocks was EPIC. This is the kind of place that someone goes to truly dive into farm culture. Emily & Erik are incredible and hospitable people... they open their home to folks that want to learn and are willing to put the phone down long enough to get their hands dirty. I have to say - this will be an annual stop for me as long as I can travel... I made friends on this trip that I hope to have always. In a short time I saw & assisted with (so many) baby lambs born, learned a ton about wellness and the health of livestock, how to manage daily feeding schedules, aspects of the farm like those amazing dogs!!, and how to kick back and have a good time after a hard day of lambing. It's unreal what can be done in one day at TRR. I cannot put into words how grateful I am to have crossed paths with Emily, Erik, Caity, Liz, Krista, Rudy, and Judy. Promise- I'll be back by Thanksgiving!! To anyone looking for an experience with amazing people ... I highly recommend this Workaway opportunity.
