Hi! I’m Marina :)

I’m Chinese American, born in the U.S. and raised in Shanghai. I’ve been based in the U.S. for about 10 years. After working in finance for several years, I decided to take some time off to travel and connect with people and communities in more meaningful ways.

My first Workaway experience was in Switzerland, where I had the opportunity to live in a tiny village in the Swiss Alps with only 80 people! More recently, I’ve been doing Workaways in Australia and New Zealand, which have given me the chance to experience different ways of living.

I’m organized, detail-oriented, and enjoy a healthy lifestyle. Through my Workaway experiences, I’ve picked up quite a few practical skills, including cleaning, cooking, gardening, taking care of chickens, dogs and cats, house-sitting, and childcare. I’m always open to learning something new!

I hope to make meaningful connections as I explore the world, while contributing wherever I can and making life a little easier for the people I stay with. I’m looking forward to meeting new people, learning from each experience, and becoming part of your community for a little while. :)
