Two people stand at an open door, smiling. One holds a plastic container and a bottle. Both wear beanies and hoodies, appearing casual and friendly.

A cozy bedroom with grey walls, large glass doors, and curtains opens to a lush garden. A bed with a green blanket sits in the corner.
Two brown horses graze peacefully in a sunlit pasture, surrounded by tall golden trees with dusky skies above, creating a calm, rural autumn atmosphere.
Two people on horseback ride across dry, rolling hills under a blue sky. Another horse’s head appears in the foreground. Distant mountains and plains visible.

    Description

We are a social couple with a lifestyle block with our home bred horses. Our new (to us) home is lovely but could do with a spruce up like windows cleaned, fences stained etc. Also for anyone that is experienced with horses there is opportunities to ride. We are close to the east coast beaches which are great for swimming in summer and horse riding year round. There are a number of vineyards in our area and we are handy to the highway and christchurch city.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We’re a friendly Kiwi couple who enjoy meeting people from different backgrounds and sharing everyday New Zealand life. With us you’ll get a taste of relaxed “Kiwi culture” — barbeques, chats over dinner, beach trips and spending time outdoors. We’re happy to share what we know about our local area, native plants and wildlife, and (for those interested) a bit about horses and rural living.
In return, we love learning from our guests — new recipes, languages, stories, traditions and different ways of seeing the world. For us, cultural exchange is simply about sharing daily life together with respect, curiosity and a sense of fun.
