  We are Fernando and Daniel — two great friends and passionate local English teachers who are always eager to improve our own English skills and connect with wonderful people from all around the world.
  
  Motivated by the dream of helping our students grow through cultural exchange, we’ve created a space where learning goes both ways — a mutual experience of sharing language, culture, and friendship.
  
  We’re fun, energetic, kind, and always ready to lend a helping hand. You’ll be welcomed not just as a guest, but as part of our extended family.

  We’re looking for volunteers to support our students in improving their speaking, listening, and vocabulary skills through real conversation and interaction.
  
  You’ll help by:
  
  Leading conversation clubs on topics like:
  
  Airport & travel vocabulary
  
  Ordering at cafés & restaurants
  
  Everyday life & common expressions
  
  Informal slang and practical phrases
  
  Supporting basic grammar sessions (guided by local teachers)
  
  Participating in our fun and dynamic “Street Classes” — outdoor lessons where we walk through the streets of Acacías practicing English and filming short videos for our social media.
  
  Assisting in our popular "English Immersion Day" — a full-day bilingual field trip packed with creative activities and immersive learning experiences!
  
  If you have any artistic talents (painting, drawing, singing, etc.), we’d love for you to share them with our students!

  This host offers a language exchange
  Many volunteers arrive thinking they are simply coming to teach English — but what they discover is something much deeper. This is a journey of connection, growth, and self-discovery. You’ll not only help others — you’ll also learn new skills, face meaningful challenges, and gain a deeper understanding of yourself through daily interactions and unique experiences. Here’s what makes this experience truly special: 🗣️ You’ll speak with kind-hearted locals who are excited to meet you — most of them don’t speak English, so it’s a wonderful opportunity for cultural exchange and to improve your Spanish in real-life conversations. 📚 Thanks to our qualified Spanish teachers, you'll noticeably boost your language skills during your stay. 🍲 We’ll share our local cuisine with you — and we’re excited to learn yours too! From sancocho de gallina, lechona, to carne a la llanera, you’ll taste the traditional flavors of Colombia while sharing your own favorite dishes. 🚴‍♂️ Enjoy bike rides through the town and beautiful surrounding mountains. 🏡 You’ll be fully immersed in life in a traditional Colombian town, just 30 minutes from Villavicencio, the capital of the Meta region.

  Where You'll Stay and Facilities
  
  You will stay in different rooms located at the back of our local home. These rooms can be private or shared (maximum 3 people per room) and are equipped with fans to keep you cool and comfortable.
  
  Facilities available to volunteers include:
  
  *A refrigerator exclusively for volunteers to store your personal food and drinks
  *Hammocks and a social area in the house’s patio — perfect for relaxing and connecting
  *Access to a shared kitchen managed by Leonor, she is Fernando’s grandmother, who will warmly welcome you
  *High-speed fiber optic Wi-Fi, ideal for both light and heavy work tasks
  *Laundry service once a week
  
  Meals are available in the same restaurant where you will stay. tasting local cuisine (not included, paid separately)

  🌄 Discover Acacías — A Charming Town Surrounded by Nature
  
  Acacías is a beautiful town with approximately 97,925 inhabitants. Its people are warm, charismatic, and proud of their traditional Llanero culture — many are skilled cowboys who work the plains.
  
  Nearby, you’ll find plenty of natural and cultural attractions:
  
  Just 45 minutes away are rivers in the highlands of Acacías, perfect for relaxing and exploring
  
  Only 2 minutes from home to reach restaurants, cafés, and fresh produce markets
  
  About 15 minutes walking to the lively nightclubs at Malecón
  
  20 minutes on foot to the central park, a great place to gather and enjoy local life
  
  Gyms are only 5 minutes away by foot
  
  The school where you’ll be teaching is just 2 minutes walking, located on the second floor of a building on the same street as your accommodation
