We were incredibly lucky when we accepted Joanna as a volunteer. She provided exceptional support in many different areas. During her time with us, she proved to be reliable, responsible, and incredibly friendly. She helped with a wide range of household tasks, handling everything from everyday home responsibilities to walking and caring for our dogs. No task was ever too small or too large , even she could see in advance what was needed . She approached everything with a positive attitude and genuine willingness to help. In addition to supporting our home, she also contributed her time and skills to assist with English spoken classes. My students and ourselves had a great time ! :) Joanna often went beyond what was expected so we trusted her completely in our home and greatly appreciated her presence. Apart from that, we know we have a friend and we are meeting soon. Thank you Joanna for being with us and being our friend. We wish you the best .

Clement was attentive, willing and enjoyed hard physical work. He is very polite and appreciated the food and joined in when friends turned up. When we weren't working or eating he amused himself and was no trouble. I was very pleased to see how clean the accomodation was on his departure...it was spotless. We enjoyed his stay.

I have stayed with Valerie and Yves Marie for 5 weeks in December and January and can only recommend them as hosts! During the time I stayed there I made so many new experiences like sailing with the sunfish and a sailing tour with the big sailboat. I also got to learn a new side for me of working with the horses from Valerie. Martinique is a beautiful Island with so much to offer, there are many awesome places to visit for scuba diving, surfing and hiking. At the beginning I did not speak French at all, but everybody was so eager to help me learn a few words and to understand some of it. Overall this was a wonderful trip for me and I got to meet so many lovely people, so thank you for making this possible for me!

Gerline stayed with us for nearly a month, and what a special time it was. During her stay she asked if she could extend, and we were genuinely happy to say yes. For the extended half of her visit, our daughter even kindly offered to share her room with Gerline, as our guest rooms were already fully booked with other Workawayers. That alone speaks volumes about the lovely bond that formed. Gerline was an absolute joy to have around. She is equally up for deep, thoughtful conversations as she is for silly stories at the table. With our six year old she was warm, engaged and attentive, and at the same time confident in setting kind, clear boundaries. That balance is rare and very appreciated. In the kitchen she truly shone. She cooked several delicious meals for our ever-changing, often quite large crowd. When extended family and Workawayers gather, we can easily be close to ten people, and she handled that with calm competence. Everything tasted wonderful. Outdoors she was just as impressive. She swung the axe for firewood, handled loppers and pruning saws, weeded, planted, cleaned and somehow turned stacking firewood into an art form. She sees what needs doing, gets on with it without fuss, never complains, and always does a thorough job. She also embraced exploring the area, taking on hikes like Kapiti Island, the Tongariro Crossing, Hemi Matenga and the Escarpment Track, often encouraging other Workawayers to join her. Her initiative and positive energy added so much to the atmosphere in the house. We are truly grateful for the time we shared and hope our paths cross again one day. Any host would be lucky to have Gerline. Don’t hesitate to welcome her.

Naomi was such an amazing host! I loved spending a week with her in her beautiful home with her cute pets and super delicious fresh food! I felt very welcome and Naomi integrated me in everything she did, so she took me with her to Canberra, to a bathing lake, invited me to her friends, we had a campfire, a movie night and very interesting talks! I felt like at home and had a lot of fun! The work I had to do was in a very relaxed surrounding, so I was able to listen to Naomi's great music during that time and she gave me tasks that I was able to complete well. All in all I had an amazing week, where I learned many things and had a lot of fun. I would recommend everyone to stay at Naomi's place!☀️

We really enjoyed our time staying at Carolyn's and Pete's and would highly recommend! They, as well as the cats, were super welcoming of us in their home and made delicious meals. Some of the tasks during our stay led us to spending quite a bit of time in the paddocks with the goats and chooks where we enjoyed watching and interacting with them. We even got to see the local echidna. It was a joy to watch the baby chickens grow and graduate to sleeping in the main chicken coop with all the other chooks before we left. Both Carolyn and Pete gave great recommendations of areas around Tasmania to explore which we were thankful for. Thank you for having us!

I really enjoyed this week at Jasmin and Thomas’s. Their welcome was simple and warm. It made me happy to cook, clean, and stitch different things. And take the time to pet the adorable cat Henry. I was able to visit different places like Friedrichshafen or Ehingen and walk in the nearby forest. Thank you very much Stéphanie

Wow wow wow! What can I say about this incredible experience. If you are looking for a family and community in Lebanon and not just a transactional exchange this couple and community is for you. Farah and Hamoudi are the most beautiful souls and they have so much energy they are offering the world. The space is full of creative energy, music, art, nature and overall just buena onda! My friend and I stayed for two weeks and we helped a lot with the beginning stages of the project. Cleaning out old rooms, designing the space, a little bit of gardening and miscellaneous tasks. If you are a creative there’s a lot you can do here. Hamoudi makes magical music and cooks delicious meals out of the most basic ingredients, a true art!! Farah is a ray of sunshine and you will feel she’s your soul sister from the second you meet her. Her ability to create and innovate is incredible and you can learn a lot about fabric art once the workspace is fully set up! I know we will meet again! Thanks حي ✨ I wish you a fruitful project and a space for the world to enjoy and heal at.

It was a real pleasure to host Charlie this weekend. She is a very proactive, positive and energetic person to be around. She has been extremely helpful in the garden and she has led the work pruning the roses and kiwis, which was not easy at all (yet she approached it with confidence and enthusiasm). Her great spirit made the work much more enjoyable. I only wish she could have stayed longer, but hopefully she can return in the future!

Kerstin, Bastian and their 2 girls were the best! we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. They were truly fantastic guests — kind, respectful, and incredibly hardworking. They approached every task with enthusiasm and responsibility, always willing to help and contribute wherever needed. Their two daughters are absolutely lovely — polite, cheerful, and a joy to have around. They brought such a warm and positive energy to our home, and it was a pleasure getting to know them all. We are very grateful for the time they spent with us and would welcome them back anytime without hesitation, they have become friends! We highly recommend them to any future hosts!

Justin has been with me just over a week, and is a reflective, intelligent, aware, and independent minded young man. Sadly he fell acutely ill shortly after arriving, requiring a day in the ED of my local hospital, and has had to spend his time with me recuperating. Despite this, he attempted to help me as he could, and was conscientious and frustrated that he couldn’t assist me much with tasks. I can however say he is reliable, trustworthy, and honest. We enjoyed some lovely conversations together. It was a pleasure to care for him in his recuperation, and I wish him a pleasant and healthy remainder of his time in the country.

From the beginning of our travels, we didn’t have much luck with hosts, but that completely changed after arriving in Croatia, specifically with our host Sabina. We received great accommodation and never had to worry about food. What made me especially happy was that she took us by car around the island of Krk and shared some of the local history with us. This is exactly what you hope for from a host when traveling. Overall, a very pleasant and enriching experience.

Sina only stayed at my house for a few days because she had other commitments; otherwise, I'm sure we both would have liked to spend more time here. She's a really good girl, cheerful and intelligent, and she loves animals. Even though it was only for a few days, we had a wonderful time; we worked outside to design an area for the Jacuzzi. Come back anytime, it'll be great to see you again. I highly recommend hosting Sina; you won't regret it.

Thank you so much for everything. I stayed with the organization for one week, and it was a very meaningful and positive experience. Everyone was kind and welcoming, and I really enjoyed spending time with the children. I truly appreciate all the support I received during my stay, and I would love to come back again in the future.

This was another beautiful two-week chapter on the land. Sara and Matteo were initially supposed to stay only one week, but after just a few days they asked if they could extend their stay — which already says a lot. From the first day, they showed such kindness, politeness, and genuine willingness to help. Always in a good mood, always thankful, always ready to give their best — it honestly reminded us a lot of Marco’s, Alice's and Eleftheria's spirit at the time. They worked on the tiny houses, helped prepare the ground, and most importantly took part in setting up the circus tent — which was a BIG milestone for the project. Having this space ready for activities changes a lot for what is coming next. The fact that they also stayed two extra days to make sure we could complete it says everything about their commitment and team spirit. A HUGE THANK YOU again for that. A few days after their arrival, David and Lolo [Manuel] joined the project, and the four of them immediately connected and worked together like a real team. The atmosphere on the land during that period was simply great — supportive, efficient, and full of positive energy. Even on the hotter and more intense days, their attitude never changed. Always appreciative of the food (the “aroi mak” made us smile every time ;-0 ), always grateful for advice or small tips, and always respectful of the place and its rhythm. Hosting Sara and Matteo was easy, natural, and simply pleasant. It would have been a pleasure to keep them even longer, and they will always be welcome back on the land. All the very best for the next steps of their adventure!

my time with Spyrosand his team ended up being a highlight of 2025. From the location itself, tucked away in the mountains - to the generous hospitality from everyone I met - this Workaway experience exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend this volunteer opportunity to anyone looking for a moment away from the chaos, and ready to enjoy the simple life for a while. Tasks for me included cooking, cleaning and odd jobs that always need doing. While there is a never ending list of things to be done, I never felt pressured or stressed by Spyros. He is a very kind hearted and intelligent host, able to get a team moving with grace and a good sense of humour. Ευχαριστώ πολύ Σπύρος :-)

From the very first morning, waking up to the mountain views in one of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed made this experience feel special. This has honestly been one of the best Workaway experiences I have had. The facilities were great, with a really comfortable bed and a proper hot shower that was perfect after a long day outside. I stayed for four weeks and got involved in all kinds of farm work, including landscaping, weeding the rice fields, composting, planting, and plenty of other daily tasks. Every day was a little different, which kept things interesting and made the time fly by. What truly made this stay stand out were Barir and Emi. Barir is incredibly knowledgeable and takes the time to explain everything clearly, especially why each task matters. I learned so much about permaculture during my stay, and his lessons were always thoughtful and engaging. Emi’s cooking is absolutely delicious, and we were very well fed three times a day with generous portions. Barir also makes amazing bread and pizza, which were real highlights. We even went on weekend trips, including a visit to an ancient Indonesian community, which was such a memorable experience. I am very grateful to the the whole team, and I truly hope to come back one day.I cannot recommend this Workaway enough. :)
