    Description

    Hi there!

I live on a fabulous rural property, 30 mins from the centre of Canberra in a small unit with my 2 gorgeous dogs and a cheeky cat. Only 10 mins from the gorgeous village of Bungendore and 4km from the nearest winery, we are close to everything you need to enjoy the best that Canberra and surrounds has to offer and a place of fun and chilled out times. I run a very relaxed household on the property of one of my close friends who lives in the "big house" just up the driveway from the "little house" where I am located. The property has a fabulous organic vegetable garden, olive orchard and numerous other fruiting trees, 2 dams, magnificent views and 9 chooks of which some still remember how to lay an egg! There is a great, covered outdoor space out the back if you like the outdoors with a firepit and fairy lights to keep us warm whilst enjoying a wine in the evenings as the nights grow cold.

I am looking for some able bodied helpers to assist with bringing my friends gardens up to spec for sale at a later date. There have been a number of pine trees felled on site and the branches need to be chipped and the mulch spread on tidied up garden beds. Weed control, gardening and general tidying/maintenance tasks are all possibilities. In return I can provide you with a comfortable camper trailer with queen innerspring bed, electric blanket and power with full access to the "little house" and all it's amenities as well as some or all meals, depending on how much help you want to contribute. Short stays of 1-2 weeks are preferred due to my work and other commitments although longer stays can be negotiated with the right person.

There is no public transport available here but as I work in town I am willing to take in people without a vehicle and transport you in and out of town on the days that I work so you can do some sightseeing. There is also opportunity to volunteer at my local community garden and at the Food Co-op in town which is a lot of fun and with great people if you are keen.

My friend who owns the property requires anyone staying here to have their own suitable insurance as her insurance will not cover your personal items or vehicles whilst here.

Please get in touch. Would love to hear from you.

I love sharing with others, have travelled extensively and enjoy helping others learn English. Food is a passion so love to exchange recipes and ideas in the kitchen too, particularly utilising home grown or local produce which we pretty much live off here. I have much to share on what to see both locally and across Australia, particularly if you love nature and camping experiences. Preserving food, making soap and household products, crafts, plants, yoga and books - I have much to share with the right people.
