Description
Hi there!
My name is Anneke, self-employed business coach, age 53, happily living in the country side with 3 dogs, 2 cats, 7 mini sheep, 1 goat, a Guinneafowl, a few chickens and ducks.
In 2016 my 'permaculture journey' started: I bought the plot of land (almost 1,5 ha) in the South East of The Netherlands (close to Belgium border) with a tiny, old farm house on it, read books of Bill Mollison and Martin Crawford and started to transform house and terrain in order to create a self-supporting system (still in progress).
Last year I enrolled in a Permaculture Design Course, finding that the Permaculture Principles (care for people, care for the earth, fair share) are put to practice best with others: it is one big journey to enjoy. Also 2022 was the first year I have worked with WorkAway guests: I thoroughly enjoyed it so continue to do so in 2023.
Are you interested in taking part in this permaculture-exploring journey for a while, sharing your thoughts, knowledge, skills and enthousiasm and do you like camping (glamping)? I would love to hear from you!
There is a fast (glass fibre) internet connection here so digital nomads are welcome!Types of help and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Learning about permaculture design, small ecofootprint-living and experimenting on growing/processing and building with recuperated and bio-based materials.
Help
I could do with help in the house (redecorating, maintenance), edible garden, tending to the orchard and woods. Also with designing and building facilities with recycled materials (including growing/processing bio based materials), such as shelters for the sheep, for garden tools etc.
I love nature (all living creatures) and (people say) I am easy going and genuinely interested in people.Languages spoken

You will be staying in a tiny caravan (or, if the caravan is already taken by another WorkAway-er, in a 4-person tent). There is an outdoor shower (hot water) and an outdoor shelter/kitchen (built with Workaway help). Laundrey facilities are provided, indoor toilet (in the house, shared). Meals, coffee and tea on working days are provided as well.
What else ...
If you love being in nature and if you are a morning person (I get up at 6), this is a great place to stay. Starry nights, quiet, green, wild life. It's a nice area for walking and cycling.
You can borrow my bicycle and tent to explore the region in the weekends. Bus to nearest train station (Weert) takes 30 minutes. Bus stop 15 minutes by foot (limited schedule).A little more information

Anneke coordinated with me and picked me up from the metro station. She welcomed me not only in her home, but also with her heart. I felt that every creature living on Anneke's farm was so fortunate and happy to be alive in… read more
Her place is really peaceful, I had time to share very nice and funny moments with her, and time with myself in a very confortable tent. It was my first workaway and for sure I don't regret it! I had a great time, I met many cute animals and… read more
