Description
My name is Pablo and I live in a beautiful and very quiet mountain area in Ávila, about 1.5 hours from Madrid. This is a self-sustainable house surrounded by incredible nature, amazing views and no neighbours. The property is quite large so I need help with gardening, land management-related tasks as well as basic DIY and housekeeping.
I’m a calm person who likes walking in the forest, watching birds, reading by the fireplace and learning new things. I can speak Spanish & English and I’m currently learning Japanese. Before moving to the countryside I used to work as a Spanish language teacher abroad, so I'm very happy to help anyone who wants to learn Spanish. I’m also interested in yoga (although I’m a complete beginner) and organic farming.
If you love hiking, photography, wildlife or just being in a peaceful environment, you will feel at home here. It's great place to experience Spanish countryside life, nature and silence. If you like this kind of lifestyle, I’d be happy to welcome you.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
I'm very interested in languages and I'm happy to do a language exchange during your stay. My native language is Spanish and I have quite a lot of experience teaching it. I can also speak English and I'm currently learning Japanese by myself. I'm interested in learning any other languages as well.

Help
Some of the tasks I need help with are:
- Gardening (pruning, raking leaves, removing weeds, fruit harvesting, etc.)
- Clearing bushes and dry vegetation to prevent forest fires in the summer
- Cooking, cleaning and keeping the house nice
- Helping me with Japanese translations for social media
I'm looking for volunteers who:
- Enjoy nature and outdoor life
- Are in good physical condition or like housework
- Feel comfortable living in a very quiet place (no neighbours, lots of silence...)
- Don't smoke or use drugs of any kind (moderate alcohol consumption is ok)
- Have some extra skills like yoga, language teaching, videography / video editing, website building, cooking, organic farming, any kind of DIY...
The help is not complicated, but some days can be physically active. We will do tasks together at a fair pace, and there will be time to rest and enjoy the surroundings. There will be about 4 to 5 hours of work per day (split between morning and afternoon), with 2 days off a week.

I love languages and I have worked as a Spanish teacher abroad for quite a few years. I'd be very happy to help you with your Spanish and I'd love to learn some of your language as well!
Accommodation
The house is large and comfortable. You will stay in a bedroom with 1 or 2 volunteers of the same gender (or, sometimes, you might have the room for yourself). The room has a private bathroom with a shower. The beds are comfortable, and I provide clean sheets, towels and basic toiletries.
I will cover food expenses (breakfast, lunch and dinner), but we will need to cook for ourselves (cooking skills are appreciated). There is a supermarket in a nearby town if you want to buy anything extra for yourself.

The host was a very kind person. It was my first time using Workaway, and he made me feel very comfortable and welcome from the beginning. I was really impressed by how passionate he is about his work and how he continues to pursue his dreams with determination.
