Adrienne is one of a kind. After waiting 7 years to finally meet her (COVID ruined plans and didn’t talk for years, then recontacted recently), she exceeded my Workaway expectations. From the moment I got there, she was kind, welcoming, and helpful. As time went on, I saw how giving she is and how much she helps everyone around her. The work is minimal, but you need to contribute to help her and the more you get to know her, the more you want to help anyways. Her partner Thomas is also wonderful and full of great stories, advice, and feedback. This was one of the best workaway experiences I could have ever asked for and I came out of it with an amazing friend that I can really count on. Couldn’t ask for anything more.

I had a great two weeks with this Workaway and can highly recommend it.
Both families were incredibly welcoming and made me feel at home from the very beginning. They were also very supportive of my efforts to improve my German, and I had many interesting, open, and meaningful conversations with them throughout my stay.
The work was varied and engaging, which made every day different and enjoyable. The room was very comfortable, and the food was excellent—they are fantastic cooks.
The area itself is beautiful and perfect for hiking or cycling. While it is a quiet rural area, it is still possible to reach larger cities such as Cologne, Bonn, and Düsseldorf within about one to two hours by public transport, making it easy to explore the region during your free time.
Overall, it was an excellent experience, and I hope I’ll have the opportunity to visit again in the future. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Our stay at Julie and Philippe's place was truly amazing. We got to experience the real farm life : from weeding to sheering the sheeps, we learned so much! They gave us a warm welcome into their home and their family. We got to hear many interesting stories about life on the farm and their adventures before it. We also enjoyed the laughs shared with their son, who is a real ray of sunshine (and a great ping-pong partner). We are very grateful for this truly enriching experience.

Alles Gute, Heidi! :-)

My time on Scotland Island with Ana and Sean was wonderful! They are so kind and welcoming, and treated me as part of the family, as well as happily involving me in Island community activities such as morning bootcamp and the Sunday cafe. The work I had to do in the garden and cleaning was really enjoyable and rewarding, and Ana was always making sure I was looked after. I got to spend my downtime travelling to Palm Beach, kayaking and hiking. I would absolutely recommend spending your Workaway with Ana and Sean!

Our first Workaway experience couldn’t have been better.
We spent two weeks with this lovely family near Auch, helping mainly with gardening and some indoor projects during rainy days, such as assembling furniture and installing lights together. Everything matched the profile description perfectly, and even exceeded our expectations in many ways.
From the very beginning, the hosts made us feel incredibly welcome and cared for. They were always checking if we needed anything and were genuinely open, kind and generous people. We felt very connected to their way of seeing life and the world, which made the whole experience even more special. We also had the chance to spend time with the grandparents, their daughter Kate, and of course Bob, the most adorable puppy.
The accommodation was actually much better than expected. We thought we would stay in a camper, but instead we stayed in one of the glamping tents, which was amazing. The food was also fantastic — whenever possible we shared lunch together, and Eric is truly an incredible chef. We were also spoiled with delicious French cheeses and wine throughout our stay.
One of the things we appreciated the most was their constant willingness to help us beyond the Workaway itself. They took us to visit Toulouse, helped us with translations, and even assisted us in renting a car for the weekend. Their generosity and openness made us feel more like guests or friends than volunteers.
We would absolutely recommend this Workaway to anyone looking for a warm family atmosphere, meaningful cultural exchange, and hosts who genuinely care about the people they welcome into their home.
Thank you again for everything — we will remember this experience very fondly.

Tessa. Sebastiaan and their dog Toffee have departed this morning for the next stage of their workaway adventure. I am very grateful they chose to come and will miss them being here very much. They are a delightful couple and with the two Brazilian workawayers also here, we've had fun, great conversations, meals at home here and out and about and they tackled the work assigned to them with enthusiasm and a lot of skill. I have no hesitation in recommending them to any furture hosts.

Darja stayed with us for about 10 days, and from the moment she arrived, she became an invaluable part of our team. She is an exceptionally friendly, positive, and proactive person who was always willing to help with whatever needed to be done. Her enthusiasm, reliability, and hardworking attitude made a lasting impression on everyone around her.
One of Darja's greatest talents is her artistic ability. She created a beautiful mural on one of our buildings, and it truly became a masterpiece that our guests and staff continue to admire. Her creativity and attention to detail brought something unique and special to our camp.
Beyond her work, Darja was a wonderful person to have around. She quickly became a good friend, bringing warmth, kindness, and positive energy to our daily lives. She integrated naturally with our team and made every day more enjoyable.
Darja is one of those rare volunteers who leaves a lasting impact. She was an irreplaceable member of our team during her stay, and even now we still miss her presence. We are incredibly grateful for everything she contributed and would welcome her back anytime. Any host would be lucky to have her.

Prends soin de toi Martin et passe nous voir quand tu veux, c'est vrai quand même l'Australie ce n’est pas si loin ;

We had the most incredible time volunteering for Jin in Chiang Mai. She was very helpful and communicative from the start. She was very clear with what was to be expected from us and what we could expect while volunteering which made for a very positive experience. The teaching itself was so much fun and very rewarding, the ladies working at the school were very organised and helpful having all the lesson plans and materials ready, and the kids were so kind and eager to learn. Jin also showed us different hikes and nature spots around Chiang Mai on our days off, we really enjoyed exploring less "touristy" places and experiencing more local spots. 100% would recommend volunteering here and hope to come back again someday. Thank you Jin!

Honestly speaking, if I could give Sam and Nadja six stars, I would. What started as a two week stay with us while my wife was away (to help cook and with chores around the house) turned into a five-week stay.
A wonderful couple who make a real effort with both parents and kids, who work hard, make an effort to join in conversations, have a good sense of humour, who aren't afraid to roll up their sleeves, and who both really make an effort to fit in and join the family.
The work was quite diverse, from blowing leaves to cutting trees and hedges, firewood, cooking, gardening, right through to handyman work, fixing wardrobes, painting, building shelves and lawn mower houses! They really did it all.
Nadja and Sam bring different things to the workaway experience, it’s a great contrast and really works well. They spent so much time in the evenings playing with the kids be it cards, monopoly, Yahtzee… the kids were super sad to see them move on.
Needless to say, anyone who happens to host these two is in for a treat and I would highly recommend them. From Team it is see you soon and not goodbye as I’m sure we will see you again. Travel safe

I spent a month with Annika and her wonderful daughter, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience!
I felt completely integrated into their lives, and Annika always did everything she could to make me feel comfortable.
I’m so happy I chose them, and I’ll cherish the beautiful memories of the time we spent together <3

Isacco has many years of experience hosting, and this shows in his clear instructions and time management. Workawayers are free to choose their preferred time schedule to complete the planned tasks, and once I expressed mine, tasks were given accordingly with astounding exactness. I felt comfortable during my stay thanks to the friendliness of Isacco and family, as well as to the accommodations: the lake and surroundings are beautiful, the caravan is cozy in rainy May, and the bathroom is exclusively for workawayers. I learned a lot, enjoyed marvelous walks, and always felt that Isacco and Barbara gave me more than they got from me, for which I am extremely grateful to them.

The week in Lidaburg is like a shimmering dream. Volunteers received the best care from Birgit, alone with her pure kindness and genuine love. We spent the long summer days together, working, eating heavenly home-made food, having both deep talk and funny conversations lightened up by Birgit-style humor. I felt seemed and understanded as I shared things from my own culture. She embraces difference, so you can be 100% yourself and perhaps find some like-minded being because a bunch of unique souls gather as Birgit’s friends here.
Definitely no stress or harsh demand on working. Although I am a first-timer for most of the tasks given, such as operating the wood chopping machine and properly pilling them, Birgit lets me learn and offers support any time. I met an incredible fellow Wwoofer also. She’s strong, experienced, willing to help me with tasks, sharing her extensive knowledge about trees and plants with me. Surrounded by beautiful natural places and cultural sites, we hiked the forest trail to Varnhem, watching birds at Hornborgasjön, and even getting chances to participate in the local art event at Hoj. Yet, time on-our-own is still a lot there for resting in my private guest house room, taking solo walks, or swinging under the big old tree.
Volunteers take turns with Birgit to prepare meals and the cleaning afterwards. Varieties of ingredients can be found in the pantry, including those special ones for different foreign cuisines. Eating here is very pure, healthy, and eco friendly. Jams are made from the rhubarbs and raspberries from the garden, and the eggs are from the nearby local farmers. The cake Birgit made on the barbecue day was a highlight of this dream. I didn't know a cake could be good like this on earth.
Thank you so much for building this dreamland for us Birgit. You encourage me to be an awesome human being like you. Good energy from Lidaburg is now with me that could help me through difficulties of life.

Ruth was absolutely wonderful! She pet sat my sweet dog Athena, and she was communicative, respected the house rules, and my dog loved her so much she was looking for her days after she left! Duncan and Felix. You were awesome. From the get go you were both great, tackling new things, like using a strimmer, which you had never done before! Climbing on my roof Felix, to fix the thermometer on the roof for the solar hot water and then going back up to fix a leak.
Duncan and Felix then took down a dividing wall in a bedroom. Something they had never done before and with only half the tools.
They did a fantastic job and even built a bed!
Duncan fitted a new filter unit for our water supply and fixed a chainsaw.
Every request was met with the answer, of course!
Brilliant lads, awesome attitude, great company and a pleasure to host.
Thank you again for everything you both did.

Anne was an amazing help, great company; empathic, kind, nature- and cat-loving and fellow-foody! We miss you!
While staying here, she soldiered against brambles in the forest, she marked newly planted trees, rescued our cat who got wounded in a fight, helped with fermentation projects and kept her own and our spaces neat and clean. Amongst all the support she respected both her own needs as well as ours and almost immediately became part of our regional community, joining events and gatherings.

Zoe has been a pleasure to host and has been here with me in Laurieton for a number of weeks now, Zoe has a great work ethic once she is aware of her required duties and tasks for the day, she is up early and into it which has been great, she is very happy to give any task her best effort, happy to work alone or together and enjoys the outdoor tasks as well as indoor take, she is very interested in cooking and baking and I have enjoyed what she has prepared here during her stay, I will be very lost when Zoe moves onto her next work away adventure. Zoe will always be welcome back to stay here with me in the future.

We stayed with this family for 5 weeks in total and let me just say: it was hard to say goodbye. From the first moment on we got welcomed not only into their home but also their family. The kids are very much used to workawayers so they were really open and we had tons of fun game nights.
When it comes to work we helped with landscaping, gardening, painting and building jobs. Everything was absolutely doable and Ben always made sure we have got everything we need and enough food (which was delicious by the way!).
We quickly felt like part of the family, Ben took us to rugby games and introduced us to his favorite team. We learned a lot about Ronels and Ben’s life abroad and what it means to raise three children. We enjoyed the conversations a lot and to learn more about New Zealand. If you have the chance to do a workaway with this family we would highly recommend it! And we very much hope to see this family again, it was a wonderful time.
