Description
Hello,
We are a french retired couple living in the countryside 1hour and half from Lyon.
We own a lovely guesthouse and also have a huge garden, full of flowers, a vegetable garden, a greenhouse and also a newly planted forest !
We both speak french and english. We have too children (both young adults living their own life),one cats and a few chickens !
We are lucky enough to live in a warm and welcoming house with a beautiful view on the montains ( Vercors ). Our small town is only 20min by car to Romans Sur Isère, where we can get everything we need.
There is plenty to visit nearby and we have bikes if need be.

We would be happy to show you around, go biking together (there's a green bike road following the local river not far). Being very found of swimming. we could go together. Of course, we can also take to the nearby mountain Vercors or take to the local museums nearby. But overall, you would mostly gain experience and knowledge regarding gardening.
Goes without saying, you will discover first hand the french generous and rural way of life !
We would be happy to help with your french, if you need. -
Help
We are looking for someone to help us 5 hours a day in exchange for accommodation and meals at breakfast, noon and in the evening.
The work is organized as follows:
From 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., it’s the usual structure, but it can be adapted and arranged differently; we can talk about it!
A helping hand in the garden (example: weeding, compost, leaf collection, watering, harvesting, hennery,tailler les arbres ...) small DIY jobs on the property( peindre, poncer, decaper bois et terrasse) and help with housekeeping (example: vacuum cleaner, floor washing, ironing, hanging laundry, heavy cleaning, tidying up, emptying the dishwasher...)
Kitchen assistance, cleaning the kitchen area after each meal, as well as regular maintenance of your room and the upstairs bathroom are part of living together and are not included every 5 hours!
On weekends, visitors can explore the Vercors or Lyon; day trips are easy. In this case, good communication is necessary to avoid scheduling conflicts. On Saturdays and Sundays, if you choose to stay and eat with us, we will ask you to participate in household chores and help prepare meals.
We prefer Workawayers with an intermediate level of French.
Volunteers are not requested to help with maintenance of spaces used by paying guests and help is only around private home / garden. -
