I really enjoyed my experience there at the ecovillage! I worked with Jen, Brian and Leah with differents shifts, mainly focusing on Leah’s permaculture garden. My contribute was about to dig and dob the soil, to paint and more tasks outdoors, 3h x 5 days in exchange of a comfy place to stay. The family is so kind and quite open to communicate and, above all, to the listening :) Thank you guys! I hope to see you next time!

It was really lovely to have Athira stay with us for a couple of weeks.....the only problem was that we would have loved for her to stay longer! She became part of our family in that short period. Athira is so easy to get along with and an interesting conversationalist with a great outlook on life. She was so good with our son who has autism showing him much kindness, patience and understanding. Athira is courteous and respectful, motivated and very good at finding things to do when we had nothing organised yet. She worked confidently in the garden (collecting manure, picking and processing produce, etc), helped with cleaning, general kitchen duties and worked in a not-for-profit community nursery, but when she cooked it was a pleasure for us all. Athira loves to cook and we all loved to eat what she made for us. We learnt many new dishes, often with and Indian theme and we'll definitely be trying some of them ourselves. The caramelised onion and egg pastries are a favourite in southern India and were just devine!! We are hoping for a revisit one day (we miss her already) and can highly recommend Athira to any prospective hosts.

I spend a week for my first Workaway experience with Brett and another Workawayer. Together we cut wood, took care of olive trees, the vineyard, did some weeding and some other tasks. I really enjoyed my stay - I had an own room with a very! comfortable queen size bed :) Besides work we enjoyed lovely food and also made a very good Pavlova! The overall experience couldn't have been better- I learned a lot about gardening, improved my English, used my free time to explore the beautiful area and looked for a car to buy. But the best was spending time with Brett , the other Workawayer and on the weekend with Brett's partner as well. Furthermore we saw the Aurora Borealis, did a Trip to Little River, to Akaroa and also to the Peninsula. I’ve gained many new memories and experiences that I’m sure will stay with me. Thank you Brett!

Laura had great disposition to help around the house; she was friendly with family and friends, and had great interest in learning more about Mexican culture and life in general. I would highly recommend her for a workaway experience!

There’s so much to say — this was truly an adventure! We stayed here for two months during the winter. It was an amazing experience, but also intense and definitely not easy, so best suited for outdoorsy people who don’t mind hard work:) The place is very remote (the closest town is about three hours away), but the nature is stunning and close encounters with wild animals are almost guaranteed. Jennifer and David are amazing people — kind, generous, and welcoming. You really feel like part of the family, and they take great care of you. At the same time, the environment can be a bit chaotic and sometimes overwhelming, but if you stay open-minded, it becomes part of the experience. You’ll also have the chance to learn many new skills and try things you might not otherwise. We’re very grateful for this unique, challenging, and rewarding experience:)

Alessia and Casper are truly the kind of Workawayers every host hopes to meet. They are kind, thoughtful, clean, and well-organized. What touched us most was how proactive they were — always observing, helping, and exploring different ways to contribute, even before we could fully explain things. They joined village activities with genuine respect and openness, and everyone was so happy to have them around. More than helpers, they became dear friends to us. We shared many meaningful moments and conversations about life that we will always remember. Thank you for your time with us — it really meant a lot. Wishing you both a beautiful journey ahead, and we hope our paths will cross again someday.

Thank you AJ for your feedback. It was a great pleasure to host you. Your skills, attitude and openness to have a go at whatever, really made you a wonderfull guest. You also have a gift working with others. That coupled with your kindness and respect, makes you a great team leader. I have thoroughly enjoyed the time when you and 3 other contributing guests were here. We had a lot of fun and you were certainly a quiet instigator for making it special for all of us. I wish you a great many blessings on your journey. Dont hesitate to make another last minute request if you would be back in the hood. Margreet

I stayed three weeks at their Residence in Kampot and got the chance to dive into nonprofit work in Cambodia. You jump right into different projects that help sustain the NGOs work, from social media posts, promoting their own water production sale or creating banners, flyers etc. And of course the best few hours during the weekdays, English teaching to local kids (:

With great enthusiasm, newly- engaged Pearly and Hiroki arrived with open hearts and minds ready for action. These beautiful souls couldn't do enough for us during their stay. They followed through to a high standard of completion, many assigned tasks that were on our 'to do' list . Nothing was too onerous. They melded well with our family, including dogs.Their consideration and respect at all times was appreciated . We were all in awe of the exquisite meals they prepared and shared. To have keen cooks here is a HUGE help. It was a treat to be a part of their new life together. Pearly and Hiroki, we wish you both good health and a happy future together.

I had such a brilliant time at Gills farm! She is so kind and warm to have interesting chats with. I loved hanging out with all your animals - especially Bruce the rabbit. It was a fun experience also meeting the local permaculture community! The farm has a really cool set up, and it’s so peaceful being in the Irish countryside. I enjoyed preparing the garden for planting, and mulching around bushes etc. and feeding the chickens. If you can rent a car I would recommend as there’s so many beautiful sites within a 45 min drive including beautiful lakes and waterfalls you can swim in! Thank you Gill for such a good experience.

Tatzy has been a delightful guest. She fitted in with everything and has made a noticeable impression on the garden joining in willingly with our autumn tasks. Being independent and having her own passions and interests means Tatzy is such an easy exchange guest as she is more than happy to enjoy her time off and explore the surrounding area. Meals were a treat as she seemed to love Steve’s cooking..and helped with everything. We’d welcome her back anytime, and can definitely recommend her to anyone.

What a great Workaway! I stayed with Bill and Jessica for two weeks. This place was actually the reason I came to Ecuador (and South America in general); I’m a barista and wanted to learn more about coffee at origin. So I came in with pretty high expectations - and they were absolutely met. The work was light and enjoyable. I was there in low season, so I imagine it can get a bit busier, but also more satisfying with more ripe coffee to pick. What I really appreciated was the trust Bill had in my work. I could start earlier or later depending on how I felt, and no one was micromanaging. It felt like it was just me and the coffee, doing my own thing. I really liked that autonomy. Processing the coffee yourself is a pretty amazing experience, especially if you’ve only learned about it in theory before. Bill and Jessica are easy to communicate with - very warm and genuine people. They clearly care about their workawayers having a good experience and are excited to share their knowledge. At the same time, they really respect your space, which makes the whole experience feel comfortable. The accommodation is great: you have a separate house with a fully equipped kitchen, which gives you a lot of independence. You also get loads of fruits and vegetables, and I had a lot of fun experimenting with ingredients I’d never usually cook with. I normally look for Workaways with more volunteers, but I actually really enjoyed the quieter setup. It gave my free time a calmer, more mindful feel, which I didn’t expect but ended up valuing a lot. And the area is beautiful! Definitely go for a hike up one of the nearby hills - it’s so fun. I’m really grateful for this experience. I know I’ll look back on these memories a lot, and they’ll always make me smile. Thank you, Bill and Jessica!

Gabrielle and Steve’s place is a little piece of paradise. It was so lovely to do my first work away experience in this picturesque spot. Gabrielle is passionate and knowledgeable about all things plants and she likes to share this. Steve is a fantastic chef/cook, which is so inspiring. The food is soooo yummy. Work was either in the garden or home, which was well explained. Thank you for having me.

Eddy was a great volunteer and brought a very positive and calming energy to the house throughout his stay. He is social, easy to communicate with, and naturally connected with both guests and the team. During his 7 days at the hotel, Eddy contributed by offering daily yoga classes, which were highly appreciated by the guests and added real value to their overall experience. His presence helped create a relaxed, welcoming, and balanced atmosphere within the space. Beyond the classes, Eddy consistently contributed to the good vibe of engaging with guests and helping foster a warm and friendly environment. Reliable, proactive, and genuinely positive, he was a real asset during his stay and would be welcome back anytime.

Katie is a very kind, thoughtful and helpful person. She was such a good help for me with guests, cleaning, gardening and basically any tasks that needed attention. She got on very well with guests and our workers, had a big smile on her face and always something kind to say. What I loved also, that she saw what needed to be done and did many beautiful things independently. Any host would be lucky to have her.

Supporting this beautiful community in Rincón del Mar was my first Workaway experience. It couldn't have been better! Dania, Carmen, and Danielle, along with the entire team that continues to support this project, are incredibly dedicated, kind, and wonderful people. During my volunteer time, I can help develop evaluation tools and contribute to the project that empowers young people to pursue higher education. It was a pleasure to contribute to this monumental work they do. During my visit, I also had the opportunity to learn about the area and explore several ecotourism options that shows the region's diverse environment. It was an unforgettable experience. The restaurant's cuisine is a real treat. Thank you so much for hosting me.
