Description
Some of the first olives and grapes on Banks Peninsula on this 13-acre (5.8 hectare) wooded property we bought in late 2023. I am American, French, and Kiwi and have taken a break from my career to focus on developing the farm activities here. My Thai/kiwi partner works in town and joins me on the weekend. We have a small vineyard of chardonnay and pinot noir, around 100 olive trees, a large and growing veggie patch, and will have a few head of cattle and sheep as soon as we finish some fencing projects.
Helpers will stay in the modern house with beautiful views of the harbour and will have their own bathroom. There are two guest rooms with queen beds so I can accommodate 1 or 2 workaway people or couples.
Plenty of hiking directly from the property but a car is advised for exploring further afield. You may also bring your tent and pitch in the upper heights of the property and wake up to fantastic views of the harbour and out to sea.
I am an educator and have taught English. I enjoy cooking with guests and sharing life stories as well as advice for local places to explore.

Help
Caring for small hobby vineyard, small olive grove, growing vegetable garden, developing walking paths, etc. You will work together with me.
I will provide meals and lodging in exchange for half-days of help with the farm, e.g. gardening, pruning, spraying (organic), livestock care, developing walking paths in the bush, splitting wood, etc. this can be organized in half-days or blocked together so that helpers have completely free days to explore the area.
