This was my first Workaway experience and it couldn't go any better! Lyn is a wonderful host. I really enjoyed helping her with her beautiful garden! In exchange for that Lyn provided me a room and all the meals! We even went hunting for 2 days. I couldn't get better first 2 weeks in New Zealand! Thank you, Lyn!

nathalie paul and their son are a special gift to your place. they are grounded in purpose and spread a lot of positivity and confidence. people with this humble being mixed with humor lift the vibe in the house. if you are lucky you can fall asleep hearing some beautiful sound coming from a distant room somewhere in the house. it is called "live music" and in times of AI one is happy to have access to such holy moments. they are clean and tidy and trustworthy. the help they got me was beyond my expectation. very exact, powerful and with the best intentions. i would host them again. hope you have a safe onward journey! may your instruments bless the path you choose. play on!

I truly had the best time ever volunteering here. I initially intended to stay for 5 weeks, however this turned into an amazing 3 months. All of the Animals here have stolen my heart and it's difficult not to take a few of them back home! I have 2 days remaining here until I leave and I'm genuinely very sad to be leaving this behind. I really hope I get the opportunity to come back again even if it's just a short visit to say hello to Francoise and all the Animals. for anyone considering this I highly recommend it. You'll very quickly fall in love with it and the island. It's also great fun staying at the volunteer house with so many great people who made my time here even better. Thank you so much!!!!!

Staying here was a wonderful experience. I helped managing the camp online presence and answering to guest's messages as well as helping out cleaning rooms when needed. The workload is light so you'll have plenty of time to enjoy the stunning beauty of the desert, going for a walk or just relaxing. Occasionally I also joined jeep tours with other guests. I felt extremely welcomed and comfortable. Salman and his team always made sure that I was ok and had everything I needed. If you're learning Arabic that's a great way to practice it and learn more but if not you'll be able to communicate anyways. I've left a piece of my heart there :)

Staying with Martha and her family was an absolute pleasure. From the very first moment, we felt truly welcomed and had the chance to dive deeply into Tanzanian culture in such a genuine and beautiful way – not only within the family, but also in the village she lives in. Our work included supporting her with social media and blog posts for her website, as well as helping out with everyday tasks around the house. What we will miss the most are the long conversations about life and our different backgrounds, the UNO games with the whole family, and all the new things we discovered along the way. Thank you, Martha, for making us feel at home from the moment we arrived. 💛

Antoine and Sara stayed 10 days with me helping in the garden and the house, and in building a chicken coop. We had a lovely week and I found them to be helpful and very pleasant company. Both Antoine and Sara were willing to give things a try even if unfamiliar with the task. Thank you again, Sara and Antoine for all your help.

My first Woofer experience was with Alice. She is a very easygoing person to live with, very friendly and helpful. I really appreciated sharing a week with her. She really cares about me. Even though my English wasn’t fluent, she always tried to understand what I said and helped me build correct sentences and gave me some ways to improve. She recommended some hiking places to me because I love hiking, some events around Christchurch. She helped me as much as she could. I confirm the comment below. The tasks weren’t hard; they were easier than I thought. It was better than I expected. I worked about two hours per day in exchange for accommodation, and the rest of the time I was free to do whatever I wanted. And it wasn’t only Woofing.

I volunteered both at their rural Sanctuary and urban Shelter. Both experiences were great. I was mainly at the Shelter where I helped with various activities focussed on the dogs, such as cleaning overnight cages, feeding, checking for ticks, checking for any thing needing medical attention, bathing and grooming the dogs as well as cuddling them😊. I also helped the vets. My special attention went to one of the dogs who required physio with a view to returning him to his community. It was a good atmosphere there with volunteers being appreciated. The manager/voli coordinator Abhinaya was very friendly and helpful whilst both she and her great husband had in depth knowledge of the beautiful dogs and cats. The founder, Mini, who started this about 20 years ago is so motivated and a real go-getter with meetings throughout the country to acquire sponsors , donations etc. A very ethical organisation.

5 days we spent with this wonderful family and could have easily spent much more time with them! We felt instantly welcome and at home. The work didn't feel like work at all - refreshed the pantry, cleared the outside of cabbage tree leaves, assisted with the sheep, entertained the kids (who are absolute sweethearts!), helped clean their place in Papatowai, helped with cooking and with the dishes - super easy and straightforward. Having our own separate space to live in was an added bonus. We will forever cherish the time we spent with this family. Thanks again for having us! We hope that we get to see each other again one day! Wishing you all the best <3

I had an incredible time at Amanda's... She is incredibly kind and has a huge heart! We did a lot of gardening and shared some wonderful moments. We laughed a lot, went for a lovely walk, and enjoyed a refreshing dip in the blues pool. We danced (Biodanza) and shared meals with her lovely friends! At her place, you feel right at home; my room was spacious and very comfortable. The fridge was stocked with delicious, fresh, high-quality food! Her garden is magnificent, and animals come to wander around (kangaroos, possums, birds)! The flora and fauna are incredible, and you feel so close to nature! Unfortunately, I could only stay for a week, and I left with a heavy heart but with stars in my eyes... I truly made a wonderful connection with someone.

Staying at Corals was a wonderful experience. She was our first Host and I think there is no better place than at her wonderful house. She loved showing us around, invited us into her community, took us to beautiful places and made her house feel very welcoming. She was always very appreciative of our work and had clear instructions and a very easy communication. The work was never overwhelming and even though it was a big project she made sure that we had help if needed! Her cooking is amazing and she made sure we had everything we need (and even more). It was an amazing experience and we can recommend her to everyone who loves to explore the nature and a very lovely host!!

Staying and working with Elaine was our first Workaway experience in Australia, and we couldn’t have asked for a better one. She has a very nurturing presence and is always generous with her time and knowledge. Her garden is full of vegetables and fruit that we could pick from whenever we liked, it truly felt like a privilege. Elaine, we miss you dearly and often think of you during our travels. A kiss and a pat to Molly and Derek as well ♥️

Reading your message truly touched our hearts and brought big smiles to all our faces! It makes us so happy to hear that your first Workaway experience at this place was everything you had imagined and more. We absolutely loved having you with us for those two and a half weeks. From the very beginning, you weren't just a volunteer; you truly became part of our family. You fit into our village life so naturally, and your cheerful attitude and wonderful spirit made every activity so much more fun. You were a fantastic team player, and your kindness has left a lasting mark on the village. We are so grateful for the incredible energy and creativity you poured into everything. The children still talk about you—they absolutely loved the fun games and dancing! Your help with the murals, your brilliant ideas for our Instagram and GetYourGuide, and your initiative in promoting our woodcarving and thrift shop have been truly invaluable to us. We’re also so glad you got to experience the peaceful side of our community, from the meditation retreat to the local markets. Thank you again, Rita, for everything. We already miss your presence around the village, but we are so happy to have these wonderful memories with you. Please remember that you always have a home here. We wish you all the very best on your next adventure, and we truly can't wait for the day you come back to visit us again!

Linn and Metta are awesome girls who have a great friendship with each other which makes them lovely to be around. They are respectful considerate girls with a good work ethic. They were willing to take on jobs that involved a lot of physical strength, getting dirty and patience. They applied themselves to each task with serious determination taking pride to complete the job to a good and satisfactory level. They have great communication skills, they speak English well, and they both have a good sense of humor. They enjoyed meeting local community members and adapted well into their new cultural environment. Conversations were open and fun learning about each others cultures what we share and our cultural differences. I can highly recommend Linn and Metta as 2 great workaways to have come help you. They seem to love meeting new people and immersing themselves into the local cultural. I loved having them here and wish them all the very best for their future and safe travels.

It was wonderful to meet Daichi and host him here for a few weeks in the fall. Daichi really helped me with a lot of homesteading tasks that had to be done quickly before the cold weather set in; he was instrumental! He helped insulate our chicken coop and winterize our bee hives, as well as carefully dig up a large bed of potatoes. He also helped my partner move a huge pile of branches that we thought we would need several more people to achieve. He has a great work ethic - he is willing to get dirty and really help out; working hard is no big deal to Daichi. At the same time, Daichi is humble and accepts with an open mind things that might be outside his comfort zone (we brought him to an ecstatic dance and he probably thought it was weird, but gave it a go). He was really amazing with our small son, who needed a buddy; Daichi was kind and attentive with him. Thank you Daichi for your visit!

Abs and Rissa were a pleasure to host. They were punctual, motivated, and hardworking, and helped with a wide range of tasks including garden work, planting, woodworking, filling joints, painting and cleaning the restaurant and kitchen. All tasks were done carefully and reliably. They were also very easy to be around and naturally became part of daily life here. We enjoyed spending time together, sharing stories, and connecting socially, which added a lot to the overall experience. They were communicative, respectful, and kept everything clean and tidy. Overall, Abs and Rissa contributed both through their work and their positive energy. We would happily welcome them back and warmly recommend them to other hosts.

Nolle did an excellent job with us. He connected genuinely with the students from day one and quickly became someone they felt comfortable and happy around. He is a very kind, calm, and relaxed person, and that energy was felt every day at the school. He truly enjoyed coming in, was always willing to help in any way he could, and offered his support whenever it was needed. The students grew very fond of him, which says a lot about who he is as a person. We’re really grateful for the time he shared with us and we wish him nothing but the best in whatever comes next. Overall he is a great human being.
