    Description

Diamond Harbour is a small settlement on the sunny side of Lyttelton Harbour - surrounded by hills where there are numerous walks. My house is smallish with a distinctive style.
Lots of sun and a goof fire in the living area when it’s cold.
I enjoy sharing a meal and good conversation. I am retired but always have a project on the go - painting or making sculptures.

I haven’t been to Europe since 2011 so having young people to stay is my way of travelling.
I often visit Australia as have family living there.
I am in my seventies so have a broad knowledge of New Zealand’s history and geography.
Closer to home there are many places to explore. I can either take you or head you in the right direction. With Christchurch only an hour away, either by car or public transport, there is plenty to see and do. If you have the time, I could provide you with paints etc if you feel like bringing out your artistic side!

My property isn’t large but there is always some gardening to do, as well as in the wider community. At the moment I want to sand the window frames and get them painted.
I am practical, and hope my guests can be also. It would be good if you could cook a meal
every few days as one of your tasks.
Minimum stay three days and no more than a week.

My spare room is spacious with a queen sized bed, and a wonderful view of the Harbour entrance. You will be sharing all the facilities - bathroom, kitchen, living area - so similar to being a guest. I eat a variety of food - meat, fish, vegetables from my garden, but happy to try new things. The supermarket is a thirty minute walk away.
There is off street parking should you have a car.
