HELP OUT - CHILL OUT & EXPLORE BLUE MOUNTAINS - ADD YOUR CREATIVE TOUCH TO THIS COMMUNITY SPACE
We just hit another milestone with the completion of the Break Out area. Now we are ready to consolidate and commence the next two big projects (water tanks and ampitheatre)
    CONTACT ME NOW 🧚‍♀️
We have early starts on some days to give you the best opportunity of time off and to mitigate the heat.

    - Site Help -
General tidy up of the yard. Incorporate more permaculture principles into the design. Install small scale market garden. Complete preparation for the installation of the water tanks. Organisation and culling of garage and attic.
Planting fruit trees. Constructing wildlife barriers for every fruit tree starting with the stone fruit orchard, which are getting smashed by the local fauna (possums, bush turkeys, wallaby, antechinus, mice, etc). Finish off the frog pond. Weeding. Turning the hot compost to reactivate it. Demolish part of the cubby. Building of pathways in children's section to act as water storage / mitigate flooding and erosion. Installing irrigation and drainage. Light landscaping. New perspective on permaculture design. Planting and espalier fruit trees. Create new growing beds. Build compost dunnies. Finish off some light landscaping. General gardening.

    - Admin Help -
I need help with photography, creating videos, on line research, IT, social media, marketing, business planning, organising photos, help with writing and launching workshops, typing, etc.

    - Artistic Help -
I would like many white buckets painted for collecting coffee grounds

    - My other Volunteer help -
I spend most of my volunteer hours at Hawkesbury EarthCare Centre on the campus of Western Sydney University Richmond NSW. My volunteers have enjoyed helping at this site maintenance, collecting raw materials, building a mandala garden, cooking student breakfasts, design, etc. we are running a Family Fun Day on 18 January 2025, so lots to do.

    - Future plans -
Eventually, I hope to attract volunteers with the skills to help with the bigger projects - designing the men's space, landscaping, construction, the eco-pond. Trenches need to be dug to run electrical conjute for the future cabin, men's space and performance area. Some of the other tasks include and working on the Performance Space, the eco pond, women's space, cabin area, overall design, build a pizza oven in the belly of a dragon, create stone spiral in the Zen space, the Pink Room (outdoor bathroom) and much much more.

    - Volunteers -
I can sometimes offer sporadic days if you're looking for a change of scenery and you live in Australia or are travelling through. Contact me and lets see if it works for both our schedules. Volunteers need to be proactive and sometimes help on their own.

I can accommodate 1-4 guests at a time. Small groups, couples, friends travelling together and those flying solo. My initial offer of accommodation is 7-10 days, longer if we are resonant.

My Workawayers LOVE staying in this relaxed Emerging Community Space in Springwood. With the help of some very enthusiastic volunteers, this site has and is continuing to transform into a beautiful and welcoming space.
This is a Working Urban Farm where we put in the hours and get loads of free time to relax and explore. Start times vary from 6am-8am (we negotiate wherever possible). Longer hours on less days means more days off. Minimum volunteer hours is 25 hours in a 7 day period, 5 hours per day equivalent post the first week.

I’m looking for volunteers that are willing to go the extra mile. Cooking your meals and keeping the house clean are part of living together lovingly and respectfully in a shared space, not part of your hours.

NO chemicals (personal care products, hairspray, incense, perfume, etc) - I am extremely ALLERGIC. I have alternatives on hand if I react to your personal care products. NO smoking. NO vaping. NO drugs. Social alcohol permitted.

35 minute drive or relaxing train ride to Katoomba. There are many exciting places up and down the mountains to immerse yourself in nature and you will have loads of time off during your stay.

We opened the garden as part of the Blue Mountains Edible Garden Trail in October 2022 with over 150 people attending; and then again in March 2024 with 200 people attending. We Welcome Your Contribution as we move up a gear to create a dense food forest brimming with yummy edibles.

Stay for a few hours, a few days, a week or two, longer if resonant.

Singles, Families, Couples and Teams of Volunteers are Welcome. You will be staying in a really cruisy home which is cosy and welcoming, set in a serene location backing to forest. The volunteers feedback is testament to how well you are looked after. In your downtime, be prepared to wind down, sleep in, read, relax, play music or explore, whatever it is that lights you up.

Volunteers contribute 25 flexible hours per week as a minimum. This means you are not tied in every day allowing you more freedom to explore the Blue Mountains and surrounding areas. I appreciate help on my non-work days (open to negotiation). I do encourage siesta / rest as needed. I'm a bit of an early bird, so some days we will need to start early (negotiated) and go late. I enjoy and promote a happy healthy and respectful home. Food hygiene is paramount. Toilet hygiene is imperative. Hours spent cooking and cleaning the house are NOT counted toward your hours. These are normal living tasks and we all need to pitch in.

I’m also an bnb super host, so we need to keep the house tidy and clean at all times (including your room).

No smoking. No vaping. No drugs. Social alcohol permitted.
NO chemicals (personal care products, hairspray, incense, perfume, etc) - I am extremely allergic.

Costa from Gardening Australia, has offered to officially launch this space at some future point, so there is lots to do.

Thank You for connecting to this profile. I AM absolutely thrilled to have already hosted hundreds of people from the WorkAway community. These volunteers have been wonderful to share space with, respectful and happy to contribute.

    - About this space -
I AM Co-Creating a Creative Space for Community to Connect. This is a social enterprise and philanthropic endeavour. That means I don’t get paid for setting this up. This aim of this endeavour is to build, support and connect Community.

This endeavour will primarily teach Permaculture Principles, Build Community, Host Creative Workshops and include a Pond Performance Space for Musicians, Singers, Actors, DJs, Stand-Up Comics, Poets, Story-tellers. This endeavour will be home to a densely planted Organic Food Forest which will help contribute and support Community. It will be a place to connect with the earth, feel nurtured, nourished and where one can take a breath and be still.

If you see yourself drawn to this wonderful project, I would love to hear from you. If you have any building skills or are happy to get creative in the yard, I’d love to hear from you. ALL Help WELCOME.

    Best wishes
    Amanda 💕🌈💕
