Sasha stayed with us for around 10 days in January, and it was a truly wonderful and enriching experience. She supported us wholeheartedly in school activities and evening classes with the children. During the winter vacation, everyone especially enjoyed the dance classes she conducted with the children. Sasha always took initiative and was eager to help in every possible way. We truly appreciate her enthusiasm and positive energy. We hope to meet again in the future and work together once more.

Maisie was our first work away experience and we could not have had a better person to come and stay with us. She is a hard worker, a great conversationalist as well as a very kind and caring young lady. She slotted straight into our way of life and made the most of any learning experience. Maisie cooked cake for us, sent me recipes to try and absolutely loved waffles for breakfast. She is a real pleasure to have come to stay and I hope she comes back to see us soon🥰

Maud and Marina were wonderful guests in our home. They were cheerful and shared many stories with us. We enjoyed their company and learning about all of their adventures. Maud and Marina helped out a lot. They spent one morning clearing out my garden. They also cooked, washed the dishes without being asked, washed our windows, and helped de-Christmas the tree. Their time here was perfect! I recommend these two young ladies. Safe travels!

JP is an incredibly supportive, generous, and inspiring host. He is very patient and genuinely enjoys teaching and sharing his knowledge, which made the experience truly meaningful for us. What he is working on is honestly amazing — creating a space dedicated to educating and empowering children is something we deeply respect and admire. He also trusted us enough to let us work independently on the land for several days, giving us full responsibility for the tasks. During our stay, we truly felt like the land was our home. Even now, we already miss the sound of the train, the unique atmosphere, and the peaceful silence of the nights. This was not just a volunteering experience, but a chance to be part of a project with real purpose. We are very grateful for our time here and highly recommend JP to other Workawayers.

This was my first stay as a Workaway volunteer, and thanks to them, I had a very fulfilling experience. As mentioned, the location is a small town without shops nearby, but I was able to stay in a very new and clean guesthouse. Surrounded by beautiful nature, I was able to relax and enjoy my time comfortably. They provided a document with instructions for the tasks, so even though I had no prior experience, I was able to work smoothly. I highly recommend this place for anyone who wants to spend some relaxed and peaceful time in Denmark.

I really enjoyed my stay in biougra with Mohamed. he was extremely welcoming and helpful, took me to the beach and to an amazigh new years party. the lessons in the language school were fun, I helped with teaching German and English. there was a good atmosphere in class and the students were super friendly. I usually had free time during the day and then joined one or two sessions in the evening. biougra is a chill town with many places to have a coffee in the sun, watch football or eat tasty food, I felt comfortable there. highly recommend that place :)

Shinji was a wonderful host who made me feel welcome from the very beginning. He is a kind, hard-working and positive person, who has clearly worked very hard to make his ryokan such an incredible experience for guests. He taught me a lot about Japanese cooking and local ingredients - we gathered local herbs and even picked and dried persimmons together. While there was plenty of work to be done both in the inn and on the grounds, it was rewarding and almost meditative. Getting to live in such a beautiful setting is something I will always be grateful for, and I also had the chance to meet some wonderful people along the way. Thank you so much, Shinji!

We were delighted to welcome James to our community. He settled in naturally and enriched our lives with his presence and support. It felt very easy to have him as our guest. His curiosity and attentiveness were very heartwarming and brought us great joy. Thank you for your openness, trust, and sensitivity! See you soon ;)

Muchas Gracias Carola. Abrazo Grande de Cebollín y Sofi desde Argentina 🇦🇷

I volunteered at the festival in 2023 and it was one the best thing that happened to me in life - the theatre company is great both in performing, organizing the festival and building a community in the city. Since my arrival to the preparation of the festival my volunteering there was an ever intensifying whirlwind of interesting people, music, performances, dancing, singing etc. (the master classes are great too). Volunteers are being taken very good care of, the athmosphere is great. I'm thinking about recommending younger family members reaching adult age to sign for volunteering at this organization/ event to have a glimpse how life actually can be :-).

My 2 week experience at Sarann's school was nothing short of amazing. The energy of the children, the food, cultural immersion, and overall experience was great. Sarann is accommodating and easygoing. If you have enthusiasm, sufficient english, and enjoy kids then you'll fit right in! Thanks Sarann

Our stay of three weeks with Tushar, Aakanksha, and their lovely son Rahi at the farm was truly one of the most meaningful experiences of our journey in India. This was our first Workaway in India, and we feel incredibly lucky that it began here. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed not as volunteers, but as family. Tushar and Aakanksha are humble, kind, and deeply inspiring human beings, and their warmth naturally flows into everything they do. The farm itself is a peaceful sanctuary surrounded by open land, birds, river sounds, and clear skies. But what truly makes this place special is the people. Listening to Tushar’s life stories, his resilience, values, and long-term vision for sustainable living touched us deeply and inspired us in many aspects of life. We learned a lot from him about organic farming, sustainability, water management, and basic construction skills. Our daily work included weeding, planting, creating water pathways for trees, and helping with cooking and cleaning. The work felt meaningful and well balanced. What stood out most was the trust Tushar placed in us. He never put pressure on us, and because of that trust, we naturally found ourselves working as if it were our own farm and home. Aakanksha is an incredible person and an amazing cook. She introduced us to delicious Marathi dishes and patiently explained the preparation process and cultural background of each one. She also involved us in a beautiful local community event during an Indian holiday, where married women gathered to celebrate together. We felt truly welcomed into the community and were even gifted small presents to remember them by. And then there is Rahi, the sweetest, kindest, and most sociable child. He brought so much joy to our evenings, teaching us how to play chess and patiently playing with us even when we were completely confused about the rules. His kindness and patience warmed our hearts. We were also very lucky to meet Lina and Alex, a wonderful German couple who were volunteering at the farm at the same time. Working together as a team made daily tasks lighter and more joyful, and we shared many meaningful moments and conversations. A big thank you as well to Tushar’s parents for welcoming us so generously into their home and family. We highly recommend this place to any Workawayer looking for a truly meaningful experience rooted in trust, simplicity, community, and conscious living. We are certain we will come back to see how the projects evolve, especially Aakanksha’s café, which is planned to open in February. We left the farm with deep gratitude and admiration, wishing the whole family a happy and successful future with all their upcoming projects. Thank you for everything, Ghizlane & Driss

Antoni was a wonderful volunteer to have with us in Keelung. He is friendly, thoughtful, and very responsible. He takes initiative without being asked and handles both physical tasks and digital/desk-based work very well. In addition to helping with daily operations, he contributed meaningful writing tasks, and communicated clearly throughout his stay. It was a pleasure to work with someone who understands the project and engages with it so sincerely. Thank you for visiting and supporting our work, we would be happy to welcome you back anytime.

Why did you come to the US? That's probably one of the hundred questions Roy would ask you during your stay. We had the chance to meet her daughter (Siena) too who's as friendly as her father. Roy spent a lot of time explaining us with patience everything we had to know to help him with the farm. It was mostly feeding the animals but don't hesitate to ask him more work because as he always says :"They's a hundred things to do in the farm!" He also took time to have a nice walk or to have a beer (or two) in a pub with us. He's an incredible person who loves its animals and who loves living on a simple life. You'll have long interesting discussions with him. He's a very interesting person making you see the world in a different way. He never tried to convince you though. We were sleeping in a trailer which has a kitchen, a living room, a bathroom with dry toilet and 2 bedrooms. Simple but efficient. There's also a terrace where you can eat or have a coffee just in front of the sun: perfect! Roy has bikes you can take anytime you want to go shopping or exploring the surroundings. You eat the eggs from Roy's chicken, sometimes have unsold vegetables from the market, and Roy gave us sometimes some sweets or dried fruit. Nothing big but so kind from him because he didn't have to. We also visited Petaluma by train ( very close, easy and cheap ) and went for a long walk close the the Golden gate bridge. It's also possible to go to San Francisco with the train then the ferry on a day trip. Roy (and Siena) is a fantastic person. We hope he'll come one day and visit us in Belgium. Thank you Roy!

I stayed at the hostel for 6 weeks, and I loved it. The work is very chill. You are in the reception and handle check in and check outs, and minor cleaning. If you have the morning shift you also make breakfast for the guests. You live together with the other volunteers where you share an apartment. On your time of you can chill at the beach, surf, snorkel or dive. The main beach for surfing is 25 min walk from the hostel and 10 min from the apartment. Steve and Daniel, our bosses, are super nice and always ready to help if you have questions. And even though its a small town, there are a beach party and karaoke night every week. Its also the safest place I have been in Latin America - as a female its totally safe to walk home alone at night. The only thing that might be following you are a couple of dogs 😁 And also when you are on Playa Estero you can leave all of your things at the beach, maybe you are going surfing or going for a swim, it will not get stolen. I would definitely recommend this place!

When I spoke to Dina on the phone before welcoming her, I already had the feeling that Mary Poppins was coming to the rescue. I had a very stressful month behind me and was tired and overwhelmed, and then Dina arrived with her big smile and magic, infusing fresh air and joy into everything she touched. In just a few days, she completely reorganized, tidied, and created space and beauty in my 100 m² art studio. It happened so quickly, and the space now feels so open and beautiful that I work in a completely different state of mind. She also played with our son, made beautiful paintings, baked the most delicious gluten-free cakes, and in her free time went on such fun and inspiring adventures. We were truly charmed and inspired by her, and our hearts felt replenished by the love and care she puts into everything. Thank you so much for coming into our home, Mary Poppins. We hope to see you again very soon.
