Hannah spent a few wonderful weeks with us! She was an excellent volunteer, always eager to help, taking initiative, and very responsible with every task she was assigned for. She got along well with all the volunteers, staff, and guests, always bringing a smile and a positive attitude!. We could always rely on her no matter what, and we will truly miss her. We can definitely recommend her to other hosts!

This Workaway in Tenkasi was my first; my cherry has been popped. The host, Kedar, Canadian, has lived in India for the past, what, many years now. He has learned the local language, connected deeply with the local culture, and has ventured with his partner, Raj, to create a space that merges the parts of Canadian culture he aligns most with—talking circles, intentions, reconnecting with oneself—with the local culture of Tamil Nadu—the temples, the spiritual atmosphere. Through music, and conversations, and the nearby Nature—the lake we swam in, the river fish nibbled our toes in, the distant but not so distant mountains the sunset glowed over—they built, and are still building, their own bubble there anyone would be lucky to be invited into. One highlight was the lake we swam in. We picked soap packets and fabrics discarded near the shore, then swam in. It really was the perfect setting for the life conversations that week inspired—cleaning the shore of the lake we were about to swim in. Another highlight was the local temple we visited. They both were able to guide me through the statues, encouraging me to set intentions at each, and sharing the different concepts each represented. We visited the Shiva stone a mixture of milk and water was poured onto to purify, and then inside a room misted by incense, the Mother statue. We experienced the closing ceremony of the temple, wandering the grounds with a handful of others chanting and saying goodbye prayers to the deities. If there is any part of you that needs some guidance during your travels, needs help finding your intentions, this space they created embodies that. As an example, Kedar was incredibly helping during our first connecting video call, getting me train tickets, tracking the train, making sure I got to the right platform at the right time.

Kate and Vova were a wonderful addition to the ranch, and I feel super lucky to have hosted them. They were each very hardworking, reliable, and consistently went above and beyond what was asked of them. They took initiative, handled responsibilities with care, and brought a great attitude to everything they did, and didn't even get that frustrated with some challenging other workawayers. They just stayed positive and kind, and made things happen. Beyond their work ethic, they’re thoughtful, funny, and easy to be around. They got along great with everyone here and fit naturally into ranch life. They were respectful of the space, the animals, and the rhythm of the property. Y'all are both welcome back anytime!

My experience in Guchan with Laurence, Pierre and the rest of the group was very good. I stayed for one week and could really enjoy the Pyrenees and their way of living. I got to help and learn in the garden and learn how to make a basket out of natural materials. They were also very patient and helpful with my level of french. It is a lovely place to enjoy nature and go on long hikes. I really recommend this place. Thanks again Laurence and Pierre, keep enjoying life to the fullest!

My first workaway project, and I had such a beautiful experience. Im really grateful for the time I spent here. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed in and made to feel like part of the circle and the rhythm of the ranch. Elodie was a super communicative and thoughtful host, always checking in and making sure I felt comfortable and satisfied with the food. She was also really helpful when it came to exploring the area! And the boys… You will rarely be bored; they will keep you on your toes, haha. They are playful, a little chaotic, but deep down, they’re really loving and express it in their own unique ways. I honestly saw a bit of myself in everyone on the ranch, which made the experience more personal. I originally planned to stay two weeks, but after talking with Elodie, I ended up staying almost a month. I know I’ll carry this experience with her family, the land, and the animals with me for a lifetime. So many fond memories made, and I’d recommend this place to anyone looking for a home away from home.

Thank you so much Victor and Jackie. At first, I really appreciate they accepted me. This is my first time to do Workaway. This experience was amazing. They were very welcoming to me. They put me in their life and I have learned how to live sustainable life. The habits for sustainable are small things but there are so many. I believe the ways would be really great for sustainable living. They tough me how to cook, grow plants, languages(English and French) and so on. I hope I was able to help them. There are also lovely dog, sheep and chickens. The view of house and around house were amazing. It is very quiet and relaxing area. They gave me free time as well. I just sat down and read books. My favorite place is a long walk with dog under the tree. It was so beautiful.

We spent one week at Gautham's place, he is very welcoming and trustful person. The house is surrounded by trees, plants and it's really calm. During our stay we helped him by tidying up the terrace, doing some gardening and cooking. While staying he gave us a private space next to his house. We mostly worked in the morning and evening (with very flexible hours), a few hours each. The rest of time was spent with Gautham, his neighbors or exploring the area. We spent really good time with him talking about interesting things of life, different way of livings, books, and especially about his project of unschooling. We also spent one day with the kids, all of them are really talkative, curious and joyful, we had a whale of time with them.

“Rosie was a fantastic host during my three weeks in Oaxaca. We got a solid amount of work done around her place—everything from small fixes to bigger projects—and I really poured my heart into it. Honestly, I’m proud of what we accomplished together. She’s kind, down-to-earth, and super easy to talk to. The whole vibe was relaxed and welcoming; I showed up knowing no one, and by the end I felt like part of the Family. Super grateful for her hospitality—great food, great company, and a place that actually felt like home. Definitely recommend.”

We are truly grateful for the time Marlee spent with us. She has a real passion for Thai cooking and brought great energy and kindness to our home and community. She was wonderful with the children at our school, offering help, encouragement, and warmth. We deeply appreciate her support and positive spirit. We fully support Marlee in continuing her journey to share her experiences around the world. Any community would be lucky to have her.

Sofia and Stephano are a very nice couple and were very good company. They stayed at my house for over a month, I was away for nearly three weeks. I asked them to help in the house and garden and most importantly to take care of my cats. They were great with my pets, the cats really loved them and got very attached to them. They were kind and thoughful with the animals, and trustworthy in taking care of my home. The did everything I asked them to and were always helpful. Stefano is very strong and a good cook and Sofia makes great desserts and cakes. They enjoyed walking in the country side and watching movies together and they are socialable, freindly and interested in learning about the language and culture.

Thank you so much (shokran bezef) to all the people who made this experience so wonderful. I have made lifelong friends, felt so much kindness from the local people, and loved teaching English and learning Moroccan Darija. I would really recommend this place - you end up feeling part of the beautiful family and community of the school. Thank you Abdul for the opportunity and support, your creativity and motivation is inspiring. Thank you FatimaZahara and Khowla for your smiles and warmth, and for putting up with our endless singing and dancing! Thank you Racheed - you work so hard and always helped us with anything we needed, and you took us on some amazing trips - I now have so many wonderful memories with you. To all the other volunteers - it was so fun to cook together and share music and cultural differences and similarities. And of course to the students - so much kindness, enthusiasm, delicious (benin) food, amazing music and dancing... I will miss them a lot. For future volunteers: I would really recommend learning Darija, maybe going to another language class at the school and leading a club in whatever you're interested in! Kelaa Sraghna is a lovely city and easy to get out into the nearby hills by walking or a short taxi drive. It's not a touristy city which I personally really loved. The school is very close to the accommodation which is easy. Even though food is not provided, you will also be fed well! If you're staying a while there is a gym you can go to or a park you can run in. I would recommend going to Hammam, its a liberating and a lovely cultural experience, a bit like a sauna. Easy to get to from Marrakech. I felt really cared for and valued on this placement too. Thanks and I hope to return in the future. Ma'salema!

I can hardly put into words how incredible, beautiful, and enriching this experience was. You arrive with the intention of helping people with autism and Down syndrome live better lives, but at some point you realize that it is actually them who help you grow, become happier, more present, and more grateful than ever before. This community is truly caring and treats everyone with dignity and respect. From the very beginning, you feel at home. The foundation is built on a strong and thoughtfully designed philosophy that genuinely works. The whole team supports one another and always puts others first. Andrea is a loving and inspiring manager with a beautiful vision, and thanks to her leadership, everything runs smoothly. If you come with a genuine desire to help, take initiative, and keep an open heart and mind, this place will give you so much in return. The belief that “the more you give, the more you receive” is truly lived here. I tried to spend as much time as possible in the community, even outside of my shifts, and I honestly felt my heart growing bigger every single day. Thank you, Andrea, and everyone, for welcoming me so warmly. These were truly the best three months of my life. I miss you all so much. aloha, Johanka

We are deeply grateful for the time, energy, and kindness you shared with us. Your helping hands and open hearts have been part of developing both our farm work and the activities we are building here. It was not only about the work — it was about the exchange, the conversations, the laughter, and the small everyday moments that made our little home in the big forest feel even more alive. Thank you for being part of this journey at such an early stage of our project. Your presence added warmth, ideas, and inspiration that will continue to grow with this place. We truly hope that the experience here gave you something meaningful in return — knowledge, memories, connection, and a sense of belonging. Our small house in the big forest will always welcome you back. We already miss you too 🤍 With love and gratitude, Kik, Tan & Macon

Zora stayed a week and helped a lot. We had very clear and easy communication and she was impeccable, adaptable and creative in every task. She was generous in sharing and I learned a lot about the history, culture and politics of Slovakia. Obviously in less than a week we only scratched the surface, and you are always welcome back, I'd like you to experience the place in a warmer season too.

Manek arrived the same day as a German couple and the three of them made a great team. Most of the work was to fix up my pergola which had fallen down. Manek worked really hard with the others and they did a great job for me. they also cleared lots of overgrown parts of my garden, trimmed trees, bushes etc and generally cleared up. I provide food, but dont cook, but was very lucky because the team cooked every night and shared dinner with me. Manek is a really good cook, enjoyed cooking for us and I very definitely enjoyed eating his dinners! We had some great conversations using his (to begin with) limited English and my VERY limited French and we had lots of laughs. Manek's English improved heaps in the couple of weeks he was here. I would definitely recommend him as a Workawayer and especially if you would like someone to cook as well as the usual tasks. I wish him well in his travels and would gladly host him again any time.
