    Description

We are a retired couple trying to live a simple, reasonably self sufficient way of life.
We have created an eco friendly small holding and renovated a French farmhouse with two and a half hectares of land. We keep sheep, chickens ,bees and have a sizeable fruit and vegetable garden.
Although the property and surrounding land has been worked on for the 16 years we have been living here it still needs ongoing maintenance and there are further renovation and gardening projects. This coming year 2019 we shall be continuing the work we started last year with bees and would welcome anyone with experience in apiculture.
We have a well stocked art room which helpers are welcome to share. Helpers who want to improve their English language skills are welcome.
We have bikes for time off and the area is great for walking.
We are situated in a very small village of 200 citizens in the Mayenne dept.
The surrounding area is very peaceful but well situated for visits to Le Mans, Paris, Rennes and ferry ports to GB.
We want people who want to experience a peaceful and simple way of life , working the land , the gardens ,orchards and looking after a few animals.
We try and prepare and preserve as much of our own food as we can. We have worked organically for 26 years here and over the last decade we have increasingly tried to use organic and permaculture methods. We recycle and reuse as much as we can and we’d love you to join us and hope we can share and learn from each other.

We can pick up from Evron, Mayenne and sometimes Laval. Public transport close by is practically non existant , so we can pick you up at the nearest station. There is a local community bus and bikes are available here on site. Workers are welcome to get a lift with us anytime we go out. Many helpers use BLABLA car or partial Ouibus or Flixbus to get to Le Mans and then the TER train to Evron.
