We are looking for honest, high integrity, hard working and open minded volunteers. We are not looking for people who want a free place to stay on Maui. We are a dedicated faith-based environment lifesharing with individuals with autism, celebrating diversity and promoting independence on the North Shore of Maui. Quality time spent supporting our special friends to live their best lives. This is a Christian based lifesharing community. Church attendance is optional for volunteers as we are an inclusive and welcoming community for people of all faiths and beliefs. Our hope is volunteers will grow in their own spiritual development through selflessly sharing their daily life with vulnerable adults who have gigantic hearts. The more open, interested, and involved you are, the more you will get out of your time here. Activities can include outings such as trips to the local farmer's market or shopping, cooking, laundry, yard care, gardening, maintenance of the home and all activities of daily living. Most of our volunteers stay three to six months.

I can hardly put into words how incredible, beautiful, and enriching this experience was. You arrive with the intention of helping people with autism and Down syndrome live better lives, but at some point you realize that it is actually them who help you grow, become happier, more present, and more grateful than ever before.
This community is… read more truly caring and treats everyone with dignity and respect. From the very beginning, you feel at home. The foundation is built on a strong and thoughtfully designed philosophy that genuinely works. The whole team supports one another and always puts others first. Andrea is a loving and inspiring manager with a beautiful vision, and thanks to her leadership, everything runs smoothly.
If you come with a genuine desire to help, take initiative, and keep an open heart and mind, this place will give you so much in return. The belief that “the more you give, the more you receive” is truly lived here. I tried to spend as much time as possible in the community, even outside of my shifts, and I honestly felt my heart growing bigger every single day.
Thank you, Andrea, and everyone, for welcoming me so warmly. These were truly the best three months of my life. I miss you all so much.

I learned so much from Bri. She is extremely knowledgeable about French food. She has her hands full with an active 7 year old son. I had fun with him. I really enjoyed her home and the accommodations were comfortable. I enjoyed all the food and was able to jump right in and help. She was very fair with the hours I worked and she gave me plenty of… read more free time. I helped organize her kitchen and felt we had a lot of fun together. She is passionate and does an excellent job explaining the process to the folks she cooks for. Her knowledge and skill with food is impressive. She did such a fabulous job for each event we did. She always brought flowers and did special treats for her guests. I loved my time in Florida and hope to return. Thanks Bri.

Wow! This was such an enriching experience to be a part of this process in the early stages! I can not say enough about Andrea and her family, they had a vision to create a peaceful community for adults with autism, where they could live as independently as possibly, where everyone helps one another and works in harmony towards a common goal which… read more is what they've created here.
Dalyne would help in the main house with a few other incredibly inspiring people doing various construction jobs as they were renovating the entire home so he had the opportunity to learn so much and grow through this experience.
Andrea was so nice and accommodating from the moment we arrived until the day we left, she even took us to enjoy the breathtaking Twin Falls in Haiku.
Andreas son Ian is so full of life, is so caring and funny you cant help but to get attached to him.
Paul (Ians best friend who is also like Andreas other son) is the same way and it just warms your heart to be in their presence. Because of this experience I now plan on getting a job working with adults with disabilities when I return to the island later this year.
If you have the opportunity to spend some time with these loving people do yourself a favor and do it because its life changing!
