It was great to have Twan and Romy stay with us. An interesting and fun couple who loved our Tommy dog. Twan is strong and hardworking and helped pruning, clearing the land , burning cuttings as just a little carpentry & concrete work although I think he is capable of more. We hope to see them again would welcome them back ...

We took care of the Finca and the animals for a week! Mel and her family were absolutely adorable, she gave us a really warm welcome and safe feeling with everything! The communication was great, the finca is a special off grid place with everything you need and a huge amount of cozyness what was enriched by the lovely animals. It was a pleasure going on walks with Panda the dog or playing with the cats! Thank you for everything!

Staying with Laci was a great decision; I spent three months at his house. He and his family welcomed me very warmly. Laci has a lot of patience to explain things, he also cooks very well and adores his animals. I ate so much during my stay there that I gained weight. I helped him collect firewood for the winter and also in the kitchen. He has a large forest for going for walks or jogging. His house is cozy and only 40 minutes by train from the center of Budapest; trains run every 30 minutes and the station is within walking distance from the house. In addition, Laci always offers to take you to and pick you up from the station by car. It’s not only about helping him with his project, but also spending time with his family—we went to the stadium and to Budapest for events and activities. Being there feels like being at home. I 100% recommend going, and of course I would return. Thank you, Laci!

Ludo was our first work away guest and we feel so lucky to of had such an amazing experience. Ludo fit into our family instantly and effortlessly. Ludo was a fast learner and had great work ethic and initiative - she didn’t need to be asked to do things she would just observe, notice and do. We were so sad to see her go! Ludo, you are always welcome back here and we hope to see you again in the future!

Axel was always happy to help us. He took responsibility for caring for our animals and looked after them diligently. He had a truly positive impact on the home and the farm and worked very hard. We hope to see you again.

I stayed here for my first Workaway with my sister. We both had the most amazing and relaxing time. the work was fun and never to difficult. The food was amazing and by far some of the best my sister has had in her Workaway life. We stayed around 6 months ago and were so busy that we didn't get round to doing a review. Thanks again so much, we both loved our time and still talk about our stay with you loads. All the best, Benjamin and Erin from the UK

The monastery is a really wonderful and special place with serving believers. We were working mainly in the kitchen, the communication was straight forward, the accommodation really lovely and the team young and fun. We wish them our blessing and can reccomend!

I stayed with Brahim for a week in October and it was a wonderful experience. He and his family are fantastic, welcoming people, and I immediately felt at home. Brahim's words reveal his love for his culture and his country, and I learned so much about Morocco. I worked mainly on his website and I hope I was able to give back at least some of what I received from them. I would recommend an experience with Brahim to anyone, both to learn something and to make a real contribution.

Jorges kindly took me in at short notice for two weeks, and we hit it off right from the start. He did everything he could to make me feel comfortable, treating me with kindness and simplicity. His house is just beautiful; you immediately feel at home there. His eight cats are absolutely adorable, with a slight preference for Timo, who stole my heart 🐾. On the work side, Jorges wanted to redo his entire nursery, and it was with great pleasure that I took care of it. He took the time to explain to me exactly what he wanted, while always being very willing to share his knowledge and teach me new things. The tasks are to be carried out freely, without pressure or schedules, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. Jorges is a very attentive, deeply friendly and passionate person. He also took the time to show me his beautiful region, which he shares with enthusiasm and love. A huge thank you to you, Jorges, for your welcome, your trust and your generosity. This experience will remain a wonderful memory, and I am already looking forward to coming back to visit you very soon. Translated with DeepL.com (free version)

This review is overdue! I stayed with shirin for only ten days but it felt like much longer. Shirin and her mother felt like family right away. Jb is a cool town and her house is super cozy and centrally located around lots of restaurants and shops. Her garden is a little paradise in the middle of it all and I felt so grateful to get to experience it and help her maintain it. It used to be a place where people dumped their trash and she rescued it then turned ito a thriving ecosystem with fruit trees and medicinal plants! The food was always delicious and shirin went out of her way to make sure myself and the other voulenteers got to try the best dishes jb had to offer, whether she cooked it herself or stopped by the best local food spots. Shirin is just a wonderful person with the best energy and brightest smile that can light up the room and I am very thankful to call her my dear friend. If you like to work hard, learn about permaculture, have good conversations and eat delicous food, this is the place for you! Thank you shirin for all you did for me and Im really looking forward to visiting again some day.Much love!

We spent three absolutely wonderful weeks with Ute, an exceptional woman. This was our very first Workaway experience, and we couldn’t have chosen a better place to begin. Staying in such a unique, historically rich setting made it even more special. We wholeheartedly recommend this place. And if you’re in the area, don’t miss the café, a true haven nestled within this magical environment. Ute, we shared unforgettable moments that we will always cherish. Your stories will be deeply missed, as will Tina. Thank you for your warmth, generosity, and kindness. We wish you all the success and happiness you so truly deserve. Greetings, Joyce and Ana :)

Jorg was a wonderful addition to our family. Polite, easygoing, cheerful and entertaining, he was the perfect house guest and an incredible worker. Happily got on with the tasks we asked (garden clearing and wood chopping) the area will forever be known as Jorg’s battlefield. In just 10 days he has prepared enough wood for our log burner for at least 2 years. Highly recommended and 100% welcome back anytime.

This experience has been one of the most amazing experience in our lives! If you are looking for a remote place and want to be disconnected from the noisy world, this volunteering is for you. You'll learn sooo much about nature and wildlife. You'll learn how to be patient and passionate. The only noise you'll hear will be the songs of the birds, the trees and the rain. Our time at the reserve was life changing. We've met incredible people. CK and Sophie are amazing💚

Well, where do I start ....... Michelle gave me the poops .. .. ha ha ... She knew every plant in our garden not only by their standard name but also their botanical name ........ OK, let's talk real stuff ...... Michelle and Steve arrived on the Monday evening, and we did the usual pleasantries, and what we were looking at them doing. Graeme gets up about 5am, but does tend to nod off, whilst I get up at about 8am. Michelle and Steve were already in the front garden pulling weeds out!!!! Graeme is in his mid eighties whilst I am in my late seventies, and we felt lazy :-) :-) They left on the Friday morning, and although they were here for the 3 days and we tried to ask them to stop work at mid-day, they did more work than Graeme and I could do in a month!!! Steve and Michelle weeded both the front and back gardens, trimmed bushes and plants including our roses, replaced sand between our pavers, and, much to Steve's chagrin put up lots of solar lights and liked the finished product. They ate everything, and never complained about anything. Their room was well looked after and when they left, Michelle insisted on running the vacuum over everything and cleaning their bathroom. This morning, they left, and, we told them if they are ever in the area just to drop in and have a cuppa ... and, we expect to see them later on in the year. Such a wonderful couple ..... if they ask you to host them say NO, then, hopefully, they will come back to us .... :-) :-)

I had a very pleasant stay in this vibrant village, truly an awesome place to learn more about this part of Australia. Rachel and David were wonderful hosts who made me feel part of the community from the very first day. They were especially helpful right from the start, always making sure the logistics worked smoothly. I had a great time caring for the two dogs and felt blessed every day by the presence of the alpacas. My tasks included gardening and helping around the house. Sharing beautiful moments each day helped me gain a deeper, more personal understanding of life “Down Under.” I definitely recommend this Workaway experience, and who knows, I might even come back one day!

I spent two incredible months (Oct-Dec 2025) working with Jimmy and Denis delivering counselling to individuals, families and groups in the villages surrounding Fort Portal. Although it was emotionally challenging to hear the harsh realities of people’s lives, I absolutely loved this work! Jimmy and Denis’s passion and commitment to their work is truly remarkable, and I felt privileged to be working alongside them and learning from them. They were very open, too, to my comments, feedback, ideas etc. and made me feel really part of the team. It was also a privilege to be able to develop meaningful relationships with our clients, from whom I also learned so much. There’s a wide range of ways in which the work can be supported, so you don’t need to be a counsellor (as I am) to volunteer here. As if that wasn’t enough, I was blown away by the scenery and the wildlife in this part of Uganda – there are lakes and hot springs and caves to visit, and there’s really good access to safari experiences etc. from here. The town of Fort Portal is small and pleasant, with markets, supermarkets, restaurants, bars, botanical gardens and a palace to visit, for all your leisure and living needs! The accommodation was a few miles out of town, and rather basic, but that just helped me to better understand something of local life. The town was easily accessible by motorbike taxi. I truly cannot overstate how awesome and rewarding this experience was! Jimmy and Denis have found a very secure place in my heart, and I will never forget the time I spent with them and with our clients.

Very great experience with Andreas, Katharina and their son. This was my second Workaway experience and their first time as hosts. I am delighted to hear that they also enjoyed the two weeks I spent with them. 😉

We spent 20 days at the farm with Barrir and his whole team, we also met many volunteers, we loved it! Sincerely it is an exceptional accommodation with common areas, hammocks, a ping-pong table... Aimy is very Devoted and caring. Barrir helped me a lot, When my phone broke he took all the steps. He also taught us many things about permaculture... As soon as we arrived we left for 2 days on a hike to another village to celebrate a ceremony. It was one of the best experiences of our trip. In short, thank you to all of you, you are awesome! :)

It was a real pleasure to host Ezequiel. He is very dedicated, strong, attentive, and joyful, always ready to help with any task. He adapts easily to new situations and quickly learned many new skills, showing both motivation and curiosity. He worked seriously and reliably, while always keeping a positive attitude and good energy. His presence was greatly appreciated by everyone, both for his hard work and his friendly, easygoing nature. We would gladly recommend him to any host.
