We spent a week with Ava and Blake and felt very comfortable there. The accommodation is very nice and the two of them always did everything to make us feel comfortable. Working in the garden and house, as well as playing with Teo, was a lot of fun. We would recommend that everyone stay with the two of them.

It's my first experience stay and work in a farm, Dave and Nikki are really kind and nice. The cows and deers are lovely, the house can see the view of the farm, looks like the background of window! Dave even took me to kayak and showed me around the town, I am really grateful. Dave always did the hardest works and let me do the easiest part. He always sharing lots of different stories to me. Thank you so much.

Lexi was an absolute joy to host and support. She is incredibly detail-oriented and thoughtful in how she helps around the house—things were consistently done thoroughly and with care, often without needing direction. She has a real gift for organization. I ended up asking her to help me tackle projects I’d been putting off for months, including organizing storage and gear rooms, and she approached them with focus, efficiency, and a clear system-oriented mind. Lexi is also very outgoing and proactive. She put herself out into the community in a way that impressed me—joining a local adult soccer league and even arranging a sewing apprenticeship with a local artisan I didn’t even know existed. She brings curiosity and initiative wherever she goes. Outside of her hours with me and my kids, she was enterprising and independent, finding additional work cleaning and helping other local families. She balances responsibility with self-direction very well. Although she didn’t work for my vacation rental management business, she took a sincere interest in it given her family background in real estate investing and development of various kinds. Her contributions were thoughtful and insightful—she’s a clear thinker, creative problem solver, and genuinely smart. She helped me look at challenges in new ways and enjoyed working through design and systems questions with me. On a personal level, Lexi is simply lovely to be around. She’s easygoing and soft-spoken, yet comfortable joking, laughing, and connecting. She brings a calm, positive presence and was a pleasure to have in our home. My kids felt comfortable with her very quickly. She was natural with them—never trying too hard. She won my son over with her sportiness and playful competitiveness. She won my daughter over with her artistic, warm nature and love of books and creativity. She also won me over—I think we’ve created a life long friendship. :) I would wholeheartedly recommend Lexi to any host lucky enough to have her.

We were very grateful that Amelie saw that we needed someone last minute and was able to come on very short notice. We had some cancellations which left us a bit short handed, especially with me working a bit more these days. She arrived right after the Christmas rush so it was a more slow, relaxing time of year. Amelie didn’t mind at all that there wasn’t as much to do . She was definitely able to keep herself entertained. Her main focus was building her quinzee to sleep in. Which was really cool. I love adventurous people. ❤️ Amelie loves animals and loves being outside with them. If you have animals that need extra attention, Amelie is your girl. She was happy to just sit and cuddle the dogs or brush the horses. She’s also not afraid of doing extra work. There was some days where we had to do a lot more than usual and she was happy to do it. She’s an extremely nice person and we had some great conversations. Thanks for everything Amelie !

From the very beginning, our experience with Daniela and Ray’s family was incredibly warm and welcoming. Even though we joined quite spontaneously and together with friends, we were immediately included and never felt like an extra burden, but truly like part of the family. The work arrangements were always flexible and fair, and the work itself felt more like contributing together than “helping.” We learned a lot about gardening, especially about sustainable practices and the idea behind a food forest, which made the experience even more meaningful. Daniela also gave us wonderful recommendations for the surrounding area, all of which were absolutely worth it. The house they recently moved into is beautiful and offers plenty of space and privacy for Workawayers, including a private room and bathroom. The food was outstanding, with delicious home-cooked meals every day and freshly baked bread, which we especially appreciated as germans :)[special thanks to Ray ;)] Their daughter Konnie is a bright and open-hearted child, and spending time playing and talking with her was a true highlight of our stay. She immediately welcomed us so it was easy to have a great time with her from the very beginning. We are very grateful for the time we spent with this family and would happily return. We can wholeheartedly recommend Daniela, Ray, and Konnie to anyone looking for a warm and special Workaway experience.

We had a wonderful 3 week stay in Alyce's place . Work is super straightforward and clearly explained : Walking the dogs, feed them, cleaning up the house , doing some dog sitting when Alyce has to get away. Nothing difficult, nothing overwhelming, just pure pleasure as all dogs are sooooooooooo nice. We had the chance to take care of three / four export dogs that stole our hearts during our stay. Very difficult to leave Gracie, Sunny boy and Lady who were with us day and night right from the start. Be prepared to receive lots of love here.... Alyce is really super easygoing, flexible and will do everything possible to make you feel comfortable. Very very funny, courageous and generous Australian Lady who dedicated her life to dogs. Accommodation is top : Big room with private bathroom. Location is super safe and highly practical : .San Lucas Town is 20 mns away with everything you need (cafés, restaurants, big department stores ..... ) . During our stay, we had many highlights such as Xmas eve ( throwing Xmas presents to dogs was such a fun) , watching Last Episodes of Stranger Things all together, celebrating New Years Eve (sharing wine, cheese and cocktails ) .... Days pass super quickly, maybe too quickly at Alyce's place, just because you feel happy. Simply happy and free to be your self. Do not hesitate to apply, it's a great Work Away experience.....

I had a great time at Nich’s place. He’s a really interesting person to chat with and an excellent cook. I had a really nice and relaxed time in the rainforest which was beautiful with brilliant animals everywhere. Thank you, Nich, for being so accommodating and for making my time in Healesville such a great experience.

Qian is a very helpful and dedicated volunteer. She is optimistic, sweet, and full of positive energy, and she knows how to spread that energy to others. Together with her son, she helped me create a Chinese-speaking environment for my daughters, played with Cherry every day, and taught Luna in the evenings. Sometimes she also helped me cook for the children when I got home late. She helped a lot with gardening as well, taking care of the plants and the garden at our homestay.

Living and working alongside these amazing, hardworking people was one of the greatest pleasures of my life. It was truly an amazing experience and I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in learning new skills, making true connections and help where help is really appreciated. In my three months here I had the opportunity to learn so many new things and was able to bring my own initiative in aswell. Volunteering here is truly unique and you won’t return the same person:)

Susan is a lovely lady with very realistic work expectations. We had a great time with her and had a totally new insight on Suburban Australia and Australian politics. Susan even took us on a trip throughout Sydney, where we saw beautiful beaches and great spots to see the skyline. Of course there are the water saving measures but we were warned about that and they were by no means too extreme, we were definitely able to work with that. In general I can only recommend staying with Susan

Moana volunteered for almost three months, from October 27th until January 16th, working across our communications and education departments. In communications, she took on the challenging responsibility of managing international volunteer recruitment, handling interviews, planning, and coordination with prospective volunteers. In education, she taught at our village school 25 minutes from the main office and initiated karate classes for our students. What truly set Moana apart was her exceptional commitment and willingness to go beyond her six-hour daily commitment. She approached every challenge with enthusiasm and discipline, never complaining and always ready to support wherever needed. Her cheerful, positive attitude made her a joy to work with. Moana demonstrated remarkable cultural adaptability, blending seamlessly with both local staff and international volunteers—a rare quality that enriched our community. She even embraced the opportunity to stay overnight at the village school and participate in evening programs with students, showing extraordinary dedication. Moana is dependable, passionate, and deeply committed. We would be delighted to welcome her back at any time and highly recommend her to any host organization.

Keira and Jack came for a week; freshly arrived in New Zealand. They were fab. They worked hard (even through the jetlag!), followed instructions, were respectful of the house systems, and even accomodated my funny little quirks! During the time here they weeded, cleaned out the woodpile and stacked a large delivery of firewood with me, dug out (that bloody) astromelia, and helped in the garden with various jobs. They pitched in at meal times and with cleanup, and made dinner one night (delicious). They were sweet and kind with my dogs, good conversationalists and we had a number of fun games of Catan. If you have the chance to host them, I recommend you do :-) Thanks Keira and Jack

Robert is an exceptional man and a wonderful person. He has a great deal of life experience, which he shares. Although my English, like his Spanish, is poor, we had very interesting conversations. In short, Robert is a wise man. Three weeks with him passed quickly. The conditions he offers couldn't be better, and Robert is a great cook. And the work is done without pressure, with Robert always attentive to well-being and safety. Tanga, the loyal and affectionate dog who accompanies his owner, is always present. A hug and thanks.

I had a great time in Burgos with Dani, his lovely friends and family, and all the wonderful animals. They made me feel at home right away with their openness and generosity. The work was varied and mostly plastering, mixing cement, tiling on the roof, painting walls, and collecting plums from the fruit trees. There isn’t much gardening work to be done which I was surprised by as I was hoping to learn about permaculture, it was mostly reconstruction of the house, but I learned a lot! The work is enjoyable and satisfying, and the schedule can be really varied. It was fun though, I really got into the rhythm of the house. There’s also plenty of free time to cycle around the local villages, check out the swimming spots, read in the garden, or get the bus into the beautiful city of Victoria. I made some friends for life during this experience and can’t wait to visit again. Thanks so much Dani for being such a kind and fun host! You’re a very genuine person.

I stayed with Saskia, Annika, & Aden for much longer than I originally planned. What was meant to be about a month turned into almost five because it was such a good fit and ended up being a very special time. From the day of my arrival, communication was always open and thoughtful. I felt very welcomed and supported and that my wellbeing mattered. Their Bowen home is beautifully designed in a central area, cozy, and filled with welcoming family energy that made settling in feel very easy. I mainly did cleaning, but also some organizing, cooking, occasional childcare, and helping with fun projects like the new sauna addition and redesigning the BowInn rental. I really loved learning more about property management and Saskia is always open to new ideas and discussions! The work/ life balance felt very fair and manageable with lots of free time. I’m particularly grateful for how fully I was welcomed into their lives, from birthdays and gatherings to hosting a really lovely American Thanksgiving while I was there. I loved meeting Saskia’s friends, participating in sports and events on the island, and feeling genuinely connected to the Bowen community. Bowen is one of the most beautiful places I have ever spent time in. It’s full of such unique nature, charming shops and restaurants, and is very close to Vancouver or other surrounding islands. Saskia has so much insight into Bowen, BC, & travel in general and is incredibly helpful if you ever need support or feedback on something. I feel incredibly lucky for this experience, the memories it gave me, and for the connection we have built. Even though I’ve left Bowen, it does not feel like the chapter is over! So much thanks to Saskia and her wonderful Bowen tribe. <3

Our stay with Robin and Grant was a great time! We really felt like a part of the family and were often included in events going on in the community such as the christmas markets and and a concert where their son was playing. Their house in such a beautiful area (with a pool) with all kinds of birds! Even though we were traveling without a car we never felt stuck. They were also super nice and were willing to drop us off in the city or in the national park for a hike on our days off. In afternoons we took the bikes into town as another option. The work was varied from day to day but included gardening, light house cleaning, and cooking dinners. There were other workawayers staying as well while we were there and our work was joint which gave us time to get to know each other. They have a two dogs and two cats who were cuddly and sweet. Once you throw a ball for Poncho he will stick by your side! I would for sure recommend staying with them if you have the chance!

A Life-Changing 6 Months in Morocco Rating: ★★★★★ This language academy in Berrechid is amazing. I spent six months here, and it was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. The Work: Minimal (8 hrs/week) but meaningful. You help 2–4 students with conversational practice using clear worksheets—stress-free and impactful. The Hosts: Mr. Harim – Welcoming and well-connected. His trips, like a desert excursion, avoid tourist traps and feel authentic. Fatim Zahara – Lead teacher and fantastic resource, especially for female volunteers. Fatima – Housekeeper who keeps everything spotless; three homemade, abundant meals per week are a highlight. Living & Location: Safe, welcoming Berrechid. Sharing a room with volunteers builds community. Easy and cheap access to Casablanca. Street food is delicious and consistent. Tips: Trust the hosts’ network for trips, connect with Fatim early, and be open to the locals—they’re incredibly friendly. Bottom Line: Perfect balance of meaningful work, excellent mentorship, and authentic Moroccan culture. Highly recommended.
