  • Description

Hi! My name is Lexi, I’m 27 years old and originally from California in the United States.

In 2024, I walked the Camino de Santiago ( a 500 mile pilgrimage from France to the coast of Spain) and it was truly life-changing. It challenged me, deepened my relationship with myself, and helped me become more clear about the kind of life I want to be living. After completing the camino, it motivated me to continue learning, growing, and connecting with others through meaningful travel. It was actually through a very special camino friendship that I learned about Workaway.

Before the camino, I earned my bachelor’s degree in 2022 and have spent most of my twenties working in childcare, animal care, education, and behavioral health services. I’m very passionate about people, connection, and health/personal growth, but I still have more I want to explore before choosing a long-term path.

Even though I’m new to Workaway, I’ve done a lot of hands-on, people-centered work that I feel has prepared me well for a variety of situations. I’m a very naturally curious, open-minded, and adaptable person and appreciate clear and honest communication. I enjoy working with others just as much as I appreciate and value solo time. In any environment, I try to lead with authenticity and a willingness to learn.

In my free time I love being active outdoors whether that’s going on walks, hiking, or playing soccer. I enjoy yoga and journaling and I’m passionate about healthy and nutritious food. I’ve also been learning to use a sewing machine for the past few months and love to work on creative projects in many different mediums. I'm always up for games, DIY projects, and meaningful conversations about life and growth. I’m also interested in sustainability, permaculture, and hands-on learning in natural environments.

Although I'm in a transitory chapter in my life, I'm on a mission to create a balanced and intentional life filled with curiosity, connection, and contribution. I'm hoping through Workaway experiences, I can share skills and stories with people from around the world, gain new perspectives, and continue to grow into the best version of myself while making a positive impact on those around me.

    Thanks for reading :)

I speak English and know basic beginner Spanish. I recently worked as a stewardess on a 105m private yacht and gained experience in high-level service, teamwork, and adaptability in fast-paced environments.

I’m no stranger to physical work and take pride in staying active and hands-on. Growing up, I played almost every sport and still love moving my body, whether hiking, helping with outdoor projects, or lending a hand wherever needed.

I’m patient and calm around children and I enjoy supporting them in both playful and educational settings. I’m also very creative and love working on projects; I’ve upcycled furniture and found clever ways to reuse secondhand materials. I’ve always had a strong connection to animals and feel especially comfortable with large dogs, having grown up with 2 German Shepherds.

On top of that, I’m tech-savvy, highly organized, and genuinely love finding systems that make life easier. I’m a quick learner and thrive when I’m given new challenges to take on, especially in environments that value care, nature, and community.
