Staying with Hilary was a lovely experience. Hilary is outgoing, friendly and generous. She did lots to make sure my needs were met. She has a lovely big home and lovely animal friends to keep you company. I really enjoyed spending time with her wonderful and friendly horses, and her sweet little doggy who loves cuddles. If you're looking for a quiet space to connect with the land and small Irish village culture, this would be a great experience for you. Hilary's parents are also keen to take Workaway volunteers around and show you nearby sights. Thank you Hilary, Tony and Sandra ! :)

Kamiel was our first workawayer at our house in Saint Lucia. We agreed to a week together and he set about varnishing woodwork. We found that he had excellent communication skills and was proactive in his scheduling and work. Kamiel was considerate, respectful, and attentive to detail. He even washed up after meals! After a few days, we invited him to stay with us longer. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Kamiel for future workaway opportunities. He exceeded expectations, and we hope he will come back next year. ;-)

Annie and Lucas were a delight to have. Quickly became like they were part of the family and got on with every task without complaint. They included the children and interacted with them. Annie is such a delight with her positive energy and outgoing nature, bought such a light and energy to our house. Lucas, whilst more reserved is very respectful and polite, and we got to see the real Lucas come out of his shell whenever it was game night, he added a lot of fun to every card came we played and there might even be a new catch phrase in our house "less goooo" They interacted fantastic with our next work-awayer making her introduction to our household very seamless. It was an emotional time to say goodbye. We hope we get to meet these two again!

Sue was with us for about 2 weeks. She was a joy to have around. Loved the lunches Giannis prepared, did the work in challenging conditions (it rained a lot), loved taking the doggies out on walks, had a good feel for all animals. We have had nothing to complain about!! Thanks for helping our babies Sue!!

Franco is a reliable Workawayer. He worked hard, both indoors doing painting work and outdoors in the garden. He did find it quite cold outside :) He is a pleasant person to have in and around the house!

Amelia came to stay with us for a couple of months Nov/Dec 2025. What a lovely girl! Although she didn't speak much English she soon got stuck in to the farm and by the time she left her English was much better. Amelia was a good rider and enjoyed the riding of the horses. She helped with weeding the gardens and did housework when she was asked. She was very sociable but didn't like going out to eat, but enjoyed a few takeouts when we got them for her. She was a very sweet girl and we enjoyed having her here.

Marjane and Yuri came to stay with us for month in December 2025. Marjane was an excellent horse rider and had a great time riding the horses. Yuri was alway very helpful and very willing to do anything he was asked. As he was a chef he cooked a few meals for us all and this was much appreciated. Yuri was able to do a few jobs for Peter during his stay which was very helpful for Peter. They made use of their spare time and went to Alicante a couple of times and used the bikes to go to town. A very nice young couple and we wish them all the best in their future.

I had an amazing Workaway experience with this family, and I can highly recommend them. Erin and Sue are truly kind and supportive, and from the beginning I felt warmly welcomed as a member of the family. Even though I couldn’t speak German at all, they were always patient with me, and I learned a lot through daily life with them. The children (Amelie, Anais, Aaron, and Anouk) are full of energy and joy, and I loved playing with them and sharing everyday moments together. The meals we shared were always wonderful, Erin’s cooking was delicious, and the family atmosphere made me feel at home. Being surrounded by snow every day, the scenery was absolutely stunning, and I felt so lucky to spend time in such a beautiful place. This experience was one of the most meaningful parts of my time abroad. Thank you for everything I miss you already and hope to see you again!

Our experience hosting Greta was truly wonderful. She spent a couple of weeks with us in Málaga. From the very beginning, she was kind and caring, and my younger daughter really enjoyed spending time with her. They played together, went for walks, visited the library, went out for snacks, and even went to the beach, creating a lovely bond while practicing English in a natural and fun way. Greta was always very polite, respectful, and willing to help. On several occasions, she helped with household tasks, such as tidying up the kitchen or cooking meals, which was a great help to me, as I work and have many daily responsibilities. Without a doubt, it was a very positive and enriching experience for us. I am sure that any family would truly enjoy sharing time with her. I wish her all the best and sincerely thank her for her help and wonderful attitude.

Hooligaaans! This was my first experience with WWOOFing, and it was immediately super fun. I learned so much from people, about people, farming, and tools. It was nice to be involved in the garlic patch, haha. I really loved the project with the Maison de Maître. It was also all very funny; I laughed a lot. I loved meeting so many different people. Gabriel and Helen are very smart and knowledgeable. Really fun to have conversations with. I also felt very welcome by all the cats! The location is, of course, fantastic, especially for someone from the Netherlands. Lovely people! This farm will have a special place in my heart.

What an incredible experience! This place has everything: surf, good company, daily volleyball, turtles, great food…! Truly a slice of paradise. You know it’s going to be an adventure when you need a boat and a horse ride to get there! I absolutely loved my time there and grew in ways I didn’t see coming. Made new friends with guests and staff and the work is truly fun. Can’t recommend it enough!

Abby and Connor were absolutely amazing workaway volunteers. Very responsible and attentive about everything. They came with very little knowledge about gardening, but left very experienced gardeners. Because they pay attention and learn everything the first time and really care about what they are doing. They are great team players and essentially became managers of my other volunteers, because they learned quickly and took responsibility. I trusted them. They came for one month but I asked them to stay longer. It ended up over three months. I would have them back in an instant. I'm sure we will stay in touch.

I spent nearly two weeks with Cara/Wim and their family, I felt very welcome from the first day, Each day was quite interesting; I learned a lot about horse care and doing tasks around the house, At the end of each day, we enjoyed a wonderful dinner together (the food at their house is really good). Everyone in the family is very kind and always very attentive to me. The tasks aren't complicated at all, and the schedules are usually flexible. I look forward to returning someday. :)

430 Working with Julio and Andrea was the most wonderful experience of 2025. We had a challenging year, but they arrived and filled the hostel with joy and love. They helped us make it feel like home and carried out all their tasks responsibly and lovingly. I hope many hosts are lucky enough to meet them during their travels. Five stars, without a doubt! :) Thank you for arriving as volunteers and leaving as friends. Los queremos muchísimo.

I only stayed for a short while since I figured it out pretty quickly that it wasn't what I wanted to do and so I'd like to apologize once more to Simon🙏. As for what to expect if you plan to do this Workaway experience.... I'd like to preface that I arrived at starts of January and was meant to stay the whole month but as expected of January in Italy, it was cold, very very cold (like -10 in the mornings) and sadly it was way too cold for me even with all my winter clothes and equipment. Also because of the cold, we didn't get any chance to go do any climbing or any restoring of routes and instead we went every morning from 9 to 16/17 (because obviously it was dark :p ) working on the building that Simon and his friends are fixing and furnishing. Then you head home with Simon in his apartment (which is really nice) and after eating together you head to bed ready for the next day. Now I'm sure if I stayed longer, we might have had the chance to climb once it got a little warmer but that was personally too much of a wait for me. Also I'd like to say that Simon only eats in teh morning and evening so do remember to bring some food or snacks with you to the site if you want to eat at midday too. Also there's WiFi and the house is warm and has a washing machine Simon did pay for the food we eat together but obviously if you want something only for yourself then you got to buy it. Once again thank you so much Simon for hosting me and I hope that the door fit the frame hahaha 😼✌️
