Description
Hello everyone,
I'm Filippo, I'm 34 years old and I'm running a small ecovillage in a beautiful, fairly isolated villa surrounded by chestnut woods, with a panoramic view in Valsesia, in Cellio con Breia (VC).
There are four private rooms and we usually like to be four people. At the moment, it's me, Federico, Silvia, and Stefania — and a big hug to Mohammed who's about to leave.
We’re looking for someone who would like to come and give a hand around the house and in the woods, in the chicken coop and the vegetable garden — and most of all, someone who wants to share the joy of life with us.
We offer room and board, usually there are no wake-up times and no working hours. That said, we’re looking for people who want to be active within the community, not those who are looking to isolate themselves or keep to themselves.
For those who want to stay longer, the idea is to eventually take part in the income-generating activities and then share the profits equally.
Everyone is welcome, regardless of nationality or LGBTQ+ status. Animals are also welcome — within reason (people always message me with twenty dogs hahaha).
You're welcome whether you want to come for a short stay, a long one, or an undefined amount of time. No specific previous experience is required.
We’re very curious and always exploring new things and learning. Some of the main things we do include tending to the garden, raising a local breed of hens (the Bionda Piemontese), and selling chicks and fertilized eggs.
We also make preserves and jams.
Yes, we do slaughter and eat our chickens (they’re delicious), and unfortunately, I know this will attract tons of unnecessary comments and moral outrage — but it’s part of our lifestyle.
We brew craft beer using the all-grain method, make liqueurs, and eventually we plan to distill too.
We forage mushrooms — this is a great area for porcini — and we dry them so we have them all year round.
We also work on small improvements around the house to make our living space more beautiful — recently we’ve been getting into mosaics and mural painting.
We do a lot of woodworking and restoration projects, including furniture building — sometimes with welded metal elements (true design wonders!).
We have 5000 square meters of woodland, which we use for firewood (in the in-between seasons), construction, and for lighting the fireplace during gatherings. Part of the forest is still to be developed.
Right now, we’re planning an outdoor wood-fired sauna and hot tub area.
We’re big fans of board games and have a group of friends who visit regularly.
We do tons of activities every day — many of which are productive — and we live mainly off what we make ourselves. It takes time and energy, but we love this lifestyle.
We're looking for someone who enjoys taking part in lots of different things and wants to dive in.
The house was fully renovated last year and has all modern comforts: Starlink internet, solar panels, and a heat pump for heating.
There’s a wood-fired oven where we make amazing pizza, and a nearby river where you can swim in the summer.
It’s peaceful, non-touristy, and surrounded by nature.Types of help and learning opportunities

We have a wide range of skills.
I'm a music composer and I play many different instruments.
We grow our own vegetables and raise chickens — we hatch chicks from fertilized eggs and take care of them ourselves.
We’re very good cooks, and we love the idea of sharing food and cooking experiences with others.
Another strong point is our craft beer — we make it really well, using fresh spring water, and we always have plenty of it.Projects involving children

Help
in general, we need a hand with cooking, keeping the house tidy, working in the garden and the vegetable patch — but honestly, we do so many different things that it’s hard to say exactly what we’ll be doing.
That’s also because we like to share and involve everyone, so we often end up doing whatever the people who come here are most excited about.
We brew craft beer, do creative projects or furniture, we’re always experimenting with different culinary projects, and we take care of the vegetable garden and the chickens.Languages
