    Description

We are a Chilean Belgian family parent of 2 girls. Our lifestyle is articulated around autonomy: food (garden, greenhouses, Animals), energy (water and firewood), construction, maintenance

We share a 10-hectare plot of land communally with the family (3 houses).

Taking care of the environment, we always develop activities in an organic and regenerative way.

We plant typical Chilote crops (Chilote garlic, native potatoes,...) We also like to innovate and experiment. We make organic fertilizers (bokashi, algae-fermented liquids) and we are seed keepers.

Each season allows us to learn and deepen our relationship with nature and our environment.

We are preparing an area of edible forest, using the permaculture technique.

Also, in our underground greenhouse (walipini) we have an aquaponics project with friends from the Pindal house.

We live in a community called Detif at the end of Lemuy Island in the Chiloe archipelago, it is accessible by bus (1 and 1/2 hrs. by bus from Castro). From the land, you can see the sea and the volcanoes. There are 3 beaches accessible by walk , viewpoints, adventure parks,…
It is a very quiet rural area with an active circular economy through barter or sale between neighbors.
In summer, the Heritage Church (recognized by UNESCO) attracts many tourists.

  • Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

The Chiloé culture is ancestral, the inhabitants still make artisania, cultivate in a traditional way and have a living folklore (mythology, parties, meals). Due to its insular Patagonian condition, the lifestyle is rustic and communal. During your stay in our farm, you can share and learn about Sovereignty and the pleasure of returning to ground.
