Description
Help us develop our organic farm near Grenoble, while discovering breathtaking nature.
Greetings everyone! We are Helen and Gabriel, both Swiss nationals with a very multi-cultural background.
Would you like to help with various tasks around our Agro-ecological organic farm in the French Thriève, in the mountains overlooking Grenoble?
We’ve got plenty to do: from seeding and nurturing plants to overall farm maintenance and cleanup.....
Our farm is facing the Vércors mountain ridge, overlooking a beautiful lake and amazing nature. The big city of Grenoble is less than an hour away, while several villages and farms dot the landscape. Plenty of history around, such as ruins of a medieval chateau just down the path, and many many stars to see in the sky.
Read on for more details and reach out to us to start a conversation.
We look forward to hearing from you,
Helen and Gabriel (the humans)
Lisp, Qubit, Lays, Tensor and Matrix (the felines)
P.S. It’s a farm. It’s the mountains.... there will be mud. Embrace it and bring the right boots / comfortable work shoesTypes of help and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
You can join us for meals and convivial moments, language & culture exchange, conversations, and, if you are lucky, some purring with the cats. Learn about agro-ecology, care for the soil, seeding, planting, fruit tree care etc. Maybe even assist Helen with her secret jam recipes....
We’d love to share your and our life experiences as well as practice different languages. And if you play a musical instrument, then do bring it along! We have a few of our own and love to have music around. Classical included.
Enjoy your free time by hiking (by foot or by mountain-bike), swimming in the lake, or simply chill and read a book....Or visit the great city of Grenoble if you need to get a bit of urban vibe. During wintertime, many ski stations operate in the area. Each season has its own beauty!
We are a non-smoking farm, drinking in moderation (well... it’s France after all), but no drugs or substance dependency. We all need to treat humans and animals with respect and understand that we depend on each of us to complete tasks and use equipment responsibly.Projects involving children
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.
Help
Our work is at times physically demanding, so it suits motivated, positive people who are physically fit. We all love to see what we created at the end of the day!

We offer your own room (which can fit two people if you travel as a couple), and shared bathroom and kitchen.
You can join us for meals, or (in some cases) prepare your own.
We will offer three full meals a day and an "open fridge" and "feel at home" policy.
All our guests need to feel at home.
Since every person has a slightly different eating schedule (I myself, for example, am not a breakfast person at all. My stomach needs some 2 or 3 hours to start thinking about food), we are more than flexible. NOBODY has EVER gone hungry at our place. NEVER EVER.
You can count on having all food supplied by us, but of course, if you want to go to a restaurant or to the supermarket yourself for whatever reason, then you are free to do so. From our perspective, we offer full board. What else ...
Train station in a village 15 minutes away. If you come with your own vehicle, make sure it's winter ready November to March.
We offer cultural and life exchange with NO FEES attached.
We expect our guests to respect the fact that electricity, water and wifi all cost us a lot of money, and to use our infrastructure responsibly (like, do not leave the shower running while you realize you must finish your breakfast! Or leave the oven on for three hours after the cake is out of it!).
We will teach people how to work with our equipment on the farm, as well as how to work with fruit and veg and various farm tasks. All in accordance with the agro-ecology and agro-forestry methodologies, and within the organic certification that we have.A little more information
