We loved having Flora stay with us and we were so excited when we got an extra week with her. Flora fit in with us and it was lovely having her company and help around the house and yard. Flora is very respectful and kind. Flora's English is amazing and she is a very hard worker. Our dog loved having Flora as she took him for multiple walks a day and cuddled him often. Flora was a willing helper with the manual labour tasks around our property and helped move logs as we were clearing underbrush. We highly recommend Flora and hope that she comes back to Manitoba again for another stay!

Meeting and getting to know Kashkiin this autumn has been a proper blessing in both me and my son's lives. Without question, you would be hard pressed to come across a kinder, more likeable young man, not to mention he is wise way beyond his years and universally gifted; possessing a diverse range of abilities and talents. Inestimable willingness to help and a fantastic team player all around, who brings an uplifting energy to any social setting. Beyond simply recommending and touting him highly as a workawayer to any potential host, I am personally thrilled to have gained a trustworthy and treasured ally and friend for the future, be it wherever in our vast world at the proper time. Alas, I would wish him permanently in my local vicinity, but it just so happens we are both wandering souls :) In any case, Kashkiin, please know that my doors are open for you indefinitely, wherever I might be based. Looking so much forward to stay in touch and hopefully see you become the absolutely amazing dad I know you will. My little one has adored your company for good reason. Most excellent commendations as both worker and person to anyone.

I had a wonderful stay with Susanne, Rutmer, all the kids, cats, and ducks! I visited the family during the month of November while traveling through Denmark. Susanne was great at communicating beforehand and explained very well how to get to the island of Bornholm. Their accommodations were exactly as described; I stayed in their loft with my own room, kitchen, and bathroom. I work remotely, and this space was perfect to accommodate that. I was just traveling by myself, but there is plenty of room if you are traveling as a couple or with kids. I am also more introverted, and it was great for me to have my own space during my stay. For volunteer work: I helped with some tree planting, seasonal winter tasks, and making a new dining room table. Susanne and Rutmer were very easy going, and we talked together to find projects that they found helpful and I enjoyed. I felt very welcomed by their whole family, and enjoyed sharing meals together. They have many interesting travels and stories to share for 'cultural exchange' :). I also had the chance to meet some of their neighbors and friends, which was another thoughtful way to include me in their life during my stay. The island of Bornholm is beautiful, even in November. If you are interested in nature, calm and quiet, and beautiful sunsets, this is a destination for you! Thank you, Susanne and Rutmer, for such a lovely stay!

Volunteering here is something you definitely want to do. The workers & volunteers are truly kind, welcoming, and passionate about the work they do. From day one I felt supported and appreciated and it was inspiring to be apart of something so meaningful. The staff do an excellent job making everyone feel included, and there is always something to do, even in the winter months. James is a wonderful volunteer coordinator - I'm so grateful for my time here and would absolutely recommend volunteering with this org! I spent 4 short weeks at the sanctuary and could have stayed longer. I miss the monkeys already :')

Noam was my first workawayer. He turned out to be an intelligent, secure, serious and relaxed young man. He did gardening and made some excellent meals! He could improve his chess and tabletennis skills😀

Dear Suzanne It was a great pleasure having you with us. Your life experience and your independent way of working have made our everyday lives a lot easier. You rocked the cat house and the dogs really enjoyed the walks with you. We hope you come to visit us again.

I highly recommend this Workaway experience to anyone seeking a peaceful break from their travels. Lucky and Andy are exceptionally warm and welcoming hosts who made me feel at home from the moment I arrived.I was provided with a private en-suite room that's separate to their home, with access to a kitchen and living area where I could prepare meals and relax during my free time. Caring for the pets was straightforward and enjoyable. Dobby can be quite sociable depending on her mood, while Capu may join you for a short walk, depending on how lazy he is feeling on that day. Both are happy to eat two meals a day though. The work given to me involved DIY projects or garden maintenance, all of which I found quite enjoyable. Public transport is convenient, with a bus stop just a two-minute walk away, making it easy to visit nearby towns or Antigua. Also, Andy kindly took me to several local restaurants on a few occasions. Overall, I am confident that anyone staying here will have an enjoyable and relaxing experience. Best of luck to future volunteers.

Working with Roberto was an amazing experience. Not only for the work, but to hang out with a wonderful and very interesting person makes the experience even better. The place, the sunsets, the sheep, the chickens, nothing compares to Roberto´s soul. Looking forward to come back and continue the long and interesting talks and work hard for that magical place with my great friend, Roberto!

A big thank you to Venerable Hui Z. and to our coordinator Boey who organized our stay :) The monastery is a beautiful and peaceful place. It has its own life and rythm. The tasks that we had to do were very manageable and I had a lot of free time. There were a lot of activities organized for the volunteers : meditation, calligraphy, museum visit, badminton etc.. For me, staying here showed that it is possible to feel and live differently than what I am used to in Europe. In a nutshell, it is about : Giving to others, Finding the Middle Way, Focusing on my intention, Meditating through my day Thank you again, and I hope that I will be able to come back soon :)

We hosted her on November and we had a good tike with her. She mainly helped us in Evening classes and also in household works. We enjoyed play and learn some new card games by her. She is very polite and always keen to know about culture and help. Good luck for her Future, hope we will see you again soon

Franka stayed with us for two weeks and joined in co-creating a performance for the Christmas market in town. It was a pleasure having her around. A calm warm energy. We loved meeting her. We played and discovered together in improvisation theatre. The whole creation process went so smooth. Franka has a good eye for detail and always great feedback, that helped bringing our piece to a higher level.

Wow It was not enough to write a feedback here for Felipe. You are just a great volunteer with us. Felipe is very clever, learning so fast and talented to discover the new things. With a carefully doing, that help us alot even farm worka, helping in the kitchen, communicate with guests. We had alot of fun during the time Felipe staying. I will not forget the very nice dish made by a Chilean volunteer, "ngonnnn". Thank you for everything, a special wind you bring to the Lodge and the Farm. With a big respect and love, Vi, Martin, Hang, Loan, Minh and our 5 dogs🐶

I spend one month working with Edvard,his cows and family. It was an amazing experience where I can learn a lot about farm life, work with cows and milk production. All the family is welcoming and they are allways helping and open to show you their culture and landscapes. I got a amazing experience, thanks all for it!

I really enjoyed our chats and spending time together. Jenny was super respectful, clean, responsible, and very easy to live with. And of course, Shelby absolutely loved the walks and dog park adventures with you, they were definitely a highlight for her too. Paulo is a fantastic person who cooks extremely well, tries to please people, is very polite and pleasant, has no fear of hard work, and it was a very positive three-day experience — he helped a great deal

Milena var en god frivillig hos oss, og hun gjorde et flott inntrykk under sitt opphold. Hun ankom dag 10 og reiste dag 15, og ble dermed hos oss i fem dager. Selv om oppholdet var kortere enn vi vanligvis forventer – vi ber gjester om å bli minst to uker, som beskrevet i vår profil – bidro hun positivt i den tiden hun var her. Hun er vennlig, omsorgsfull og tok godt vare på både huset og oppgavene sine. Faktisk gjorde hun stedet enda renere og mer ryddig enn vi hadde forventet, noe som ble satt stor pris på. Hun ga meg nyttige tilbakemeldinger og hjalp til med situasjoner som ofte oppstår, og jeg opplevde at vi hadde et godt samarbeid som et team. Det er alltid en glede å ha snille og positive mennesker rundt seg, og Milena bidro til å skape en god atmosfære i huset. Oslo er et spesielt sted, og det er ekstra fint når man får besøk av spesielle mennesker som henne. Jeg kan varmt anbefale Milena som frivillig.

Nicole is THE perfect volunteer. Actually, defining her as a volunteer is an understatement. She's been part of our family and still is. Our door will always be open to her. What makes her so perfect? ​​Her approach to our son was impeccable. He fell in love with her from the very first moment and he is still asking about Nicole, like every day! They had such wonderful laughs together...Nicole is incredibly creative and has a gift with children. You can tell she's experienced and what’s more is that she not only had fun with our son but also taught him new skills and corrected his behavior according to our principles. Nicole is a great observer, attentive to detail, and has an introspection and sensitivity that make her unique. Furthermore, she's an independent, willing and active person, so you never get tired of her being around; on the contrary, it makes you want to spend time with her! Something else worth mentioning from a host perspective, is that she has treated and left the accommodation impeccably. She definitely is a reliable, trustworthy and fun person and we had the honor of having her with us for three weeks and looking forward to hosting her again!

Zala stayed in our hostel for a month, and it was such a blast having her with us! She is an extremely hard-working woman with a lot of experience in the hotel industry, so she didn’t need much explanation at all. She worked fast, efficiently, and always with a great attitude, never complaining once. Her role with us was a mix of housekeeping and reception, and she handled both effortlessly. On top of that, Zala is such a fun and positive person to have in a team. She brought an amazing atmosphere, got along with everyone instantly, and made friends for life. We were always laughing together. During working hours she was always very professional, and outside of work we had so much fun together with her and the team. Parties, BBQs, morning runs… she was always there and happy to join in. Zala, we truly loved having you as part of our hostel family. We know you’ll be back one day, and when you are… we’ll be right here waiting for you 😉

Celine volunteered with us for three weeks this spring and was an amazing helper! She has excellent communication skills, always asking all the clarifying questions necessary to carry out tasks effectively. She is also a fast learner and was willing to help with any and everything that needed to be done around the homestead. She learned more about gardening and became a very good transplanter and bed-preparer. She is very capabale of doing hard, manual labor, but can also do more delicate jobs with ease. She is a great painter as well; she painted all our new bee boxes and floors. Celine is also curious, upbeat and was such fun to hang out with! I highly recommend her for any project she is interested; if she does not know much about the task at hand she will ask plenty of questions until she understands it and will learn how to do it quickly! I hope she can find other wonderful volunteering experiences along her way!
