Description
My name is Edvard and me and my family live on a farm in the middle of the Sognefjord. It is just me and my wife that lives here at the moment, but our kids and other family often drop by to help. We just finished building a new robotic milking farm and could use some help both inside and outside of the farm. It is a big farm and in addition to milk production, we also rent out some cabins/houses for tourists all year around. These are the main businesses here. The tasks that you do could be everything from taking care of calves, driving tractors and harvest the grass in the summer to feed the cows in the winter months. So mostly farm duties and taking care of the animals, but also tourism tasks. We live in a very beautiful landscape with mountains and fjords wherever you go, and are looking very forward for you to see it.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
The cultural exchange between us and you will obviously be doing tasks together and learn how we run the farm here in the steep hills by Sognefjorden. We could arrange dinners, and usually, during the summer we tend to have dinners together where the whole family gathers to harvest the grass for the winter. If you are interested, we can also cook some traditional Norwegian food that you can taste and even learn to cook yourself. We also tend to brew homemade Norwegian "heimebrygg", which is homebrewed beer made on this farm that you can taste. In addition to this, we have a lot of mountains and hikes nearby so you can explore the Norwegian nature. We are also very open for you to show us your culture through food, language, traditions and more.

Help
The work will consist mostly of farming tasks with the animals. This could be, as said, everything from feeding cows, cleaning and sorting in the barn, painting houses, cleaning houses for tourism use and helping where we could need some extra help.
The tasks could be 5 hours a day, 5 days a week and in return you get accommodation and a salary. This will be in total 25 hours a week, and you would have Saturday and Sunday off. Sometimes, especially in the summertime and autumn, it is more to do on our farm and we could need some more help. The minimum wage for farm work in Norway is 165kr per hour that you would recieve. If you want to work more, we can also discuss this in more detail if you would like.
We would love to have you here and will get you an insurance, but you are responsible for having the correct visa and work permit as required.

What else ...
On your time off tasks, you can hike around in the mountains and our boats can be borrowed for fishing in the fjord. Høyanger is 10 minutes away by car where we have a swimming pool, bar, cafe, different food stores, and restaurants. An express boat can take you to Bergen (3 hours), Sogndal (2 hours), and Flåm (3 hours) from Noreide which is approximately 5 minutes from us by car. If you would like more tips we are more than happy to help you :)
